her time at the rehab is covered under the hippa law which means that the doctors/staff agh the rehab CAN NOT i repeat CAN NOT tell anyone that is not on her treatment team any info about her unless she signs releases they can be in a lot of trouble if they reported her with out her breaking any law did she give consent to speak to the board of nursing about her condition?
I posted last night asking if anyone could share their good and bad rehab experiences...why was that deleted? I got an email that there were 3 respnses- If anyone responded please repost! Unless there is some reason we can't share rehab experiences??

My husband had a severe stroke in August and is currently in a neurorehab. He was paralyzed on the right side, lost his ability to speak intelligbly, had no sense of balance, couldn't swallow, short-term memory loss, and had many cognitive issues.

so a job as say an emt could not find out i went to a detox/rehab center? like with a background check or sumthing like thjt? i signed a paper saying i have not done drugs in the past year..
After a stay in the hospital for 6 weeks we were told that she would never meet the requirements for a rehab program. She was sent to a nursing home but the family continued doing her exercise that we found helpful from the Internet and we used therapeutic needles daily to stimulate the nerves on her bad side. After a period of 5 months and getting her on a antidepressant we were able to get her to rehab. We were told first that she wouldn't live.
It is now November and he is still in a nursing home in Long Term Care unit and not receiving ANY rehab. The reason the home gives is that he has "plateaued". People I have spoken to have said that he should still be receiving therapy. I realize that he is now on medicaid, (he lost his job, home, everything due to this stroke) and is being treated like a second class citizen!! He is getting very depressed. Thank you!
I probably just need outpt rehab, but like today, I feel I need inpatient rehab. I ache all over after being clean a month. My kids can see the difference in me because before I was so complacent, now I'm just irritable when I'm here, and gone a lot trying to keep up with this nursing recovery program. I'm stressed out trying to make these deadlines. And to have to depend on my husband to carry his end of it.

I am in a management type position and do not deal with medications. So about 2 years ago it seemed like a had a lot going on, surgeries, dental stuff, pulled muscles, etc. so what started as a few for fun turned in to 90 to 120 mg of hydrocodone a day. About 6 months ago I was tired of it, ran out so it was the perfect opportunity to quit.
Everything happens for a reason its a good thing you did stop this early... but you can.probably look for a job online so you can stay at home and continue to still make money if you feel bad ...
I just got hired for a new job and start orientation on Tuesday the 2nd of September. I didn't tell them that I'm pregnant and ofcourse they didn't ask. When is a good time to tell them? I'm 19 weeks now , I got this job pretty quickly got hired on the spot. It's in the medical field, I'll be doing CNA stuff and running around a lot. Any suggestions????
t that weird all yesterday I kept telling myself to go to rehab but I have the baby. Nobody can watch him. My boyfriend just got a job and because it got and its been a year since he had a job don't want to jepordize it. because im not working and i don't think i can as a nurse anymore. im debating whether to flush those pills right now. or take one and go meet my friend.
) They will undoubtedly get larger when your milk comes in. Your nipples will possibly feel quite rebellious as they adjust to their new job description. I highly recommend using Lansinoh lanolin on them for about the last 2-4 weeks of pregnancy and during the first month of nursing. Get help from the lactation consultant while you're in the hospital. They are a huge help, especially to first time nursing moms. Don't give up! The first month is the toughest, but it's so worth it!

Isn't there some web site you can check this out on or maybe in her union book. There must some information that came with her nursing license, like all the do's and don'ts. Or maybe an 1-800 number you can call anomysley (spelling) and ask these questions.
so my grandma is at this nursing home in huntington health and rehab. a worker there is giving out information about the resident (my grandmother) to outsiders; suchs as; people not working there, her kids, other people. this is going around the school about how my grandmother acts at a nursing home. and i want this to stop. is this illegal to give out information? tell me please. and if you get it from a website, type the web site in.
hello all 60 days clean today. Back from rehab two days ago. Good to be back although, I loved being around people who "get" me. People who have the addict brain that I have. People who have probably faught this to one degree or another all of their lives as well. The first thing I did when I got back was kiss my kids then went to a meeting. I was overwhelmed by home. Needed those people who "get" me again right away.
I don't know where to begin. First of all my Dad had a massive left hemisphere stroke, couldn't swallow, talk or move his right side. I am fortunate that he was helicoptered to Boston where hr remained for 1 week. They removed the nose tube after 3 days and now it goes direct to his stomach which is much more comfortable for him. First, I would want that done. He was moved to an acute rehab in Boston where he received intense therapy 3 hrs each day.
I am a registered nurse and recently started a job in a rehab and nursing facility. It was a very toxic environment with my ending up reporting conditions to the State Health Department and was fired. My complaints of patient care neglect were validated by the State, but for awhile, I had absolutely no recollections of some things I had signed. There were things that started jogging my memory some a couple of months later.

You do realize that in drug/alcohol rehab settings, generally almost all the staff is recovering themselves (nurses, doctors, counselors) so that they can empathize with the patients. Did you notify the Board of Nursing about your DUI? Are they OK with it? If so, the next time I filled out an application that asked the criminal record, I would keep it extremely brief, e.g.: " DUI 11/2011. Outpt. tx. successful. Currently attends AA regularly. Nursing Board aware.
alcholism as a description covers a range of things. When I was at my worst I was on 2-3 bottles of vodka a day and would usually have half a bottle before i even got to work, then would drink steadily throughout the day. Depends how much he drinks, and most of all, whether he thinks it;s a problem. In my opinion, if he thinks iit's ok and doing no harm, there is nothing you can do accept wait for him to realise it isn't. Others might disagree but that's my experience.
I had pain 2 weeks ago in my R calf and now I have no pain now,but I do have numbness in my right calf and not as pronounced and I have no right patellar reflex.Can I do alternative rehab treatment instead of surgery(which is a micro diskectomy)? Can I get Rehab or chiropractic care to restore my right leg function? Also,is it possible to have an MRI report to be too over exaggerated?
