Avatar f tn Anyone have a related experience to share or know if weight gain is a common side effect of Ramipril?
Avatar m tn The doctor was saying the cough will not stop immediately after stopping the Ramipril, will take at least a week to reduce. Is it correct?
Avatar n tn Mine has been leveled out at 120/80 after suffering with elevations approximating 160/100 for almost a year after it peaked at 210/120 when I took a bad side effect reaction to a new medication I was trying. I will not mention the name of this medication because it does not effect all people the way it did me - I was the unlucky exception it seems.
Avatar f tn my husband has taken rimopril and simvastatin for over ten years, i met and marryed him 3 years ago our sex life was like everyone was well above average but a year later or less it dropped to maybe once week or once fortnight and as time has gone on its now worse all the time he blames the drugs he is on or iv had a heart attack is he correct !!!!!!
Avatar m tn Beta blockers do typically take people a while to get used to, although part of the idea of them is to get your resting heart rate to come down. An unfortunate side effect for some people is that they are limited in the exercise they can do. I would say give it at least another week and see if you feel any less tired- it does take your body a while to adjust. If you're still not feeling any better by that time, then I'd say that might be a good time to talk to your Dr. about it.
Avatar f tn hello, my dad is a diabetic (type2), since last year, hes 46 yrs old, hes on metmorfin, the same last year he was also prescribed ramipril 2.5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed?
Avatar n tn 25 to 2x1.25. So I am already low on ramipril. I cannot go down further on ACE-I. My EF is 30-35%. I had MI in 2007. My question is, can side effects of carvidilol become severe even after its trouble free (almost) use for three years? Thanks in advance for any feedback/advise.
Avatar f tn I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
544430 tn?1283712658 I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
Avatar f tn Thanks - In touch with the Dr weekly with BP readings and keeping progress tracked. On Ramipril, Amplodipine and Indapimide. Here’s to getting things down under 140 in the near future. Agree that it is still high but to go from Crisis mode to long term planning is a huge relief!
Avatar f tn So, you woke up and had spots in your vision or it was completely black (unrelated to it being dark at night)? One eye or both?
Avatar n tn If your blood pressure goes high, that puts a strain on the heart which may provoke different sorts of irregular heart rhythm. Atrial fibrillation is a common arrhythmia which may be a consequence. Ask your doctor which arrhythmia you suffer from. It may also be that something is stressing you when the blood pressure is high, and that "something" also is causing arrhythmias.
603543 tn?1255294450 When is the best time to take Celexa? My dr just started me on 5mg and told me to take it at 8pm. Avatar m tn Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
Avatar f tn I had been taking Ramipril for years. Went to a new Dr. who changed me to Quinapril twice a day because he said it was better for kidneys and added Metoprolol ER 50mg / day because my pulse was always around 90. My BP was usually 120 / 80 with the Ramipril. It's now down to 105 / 65 and my pulse is down to 70. BUT I can't stand how gassy the Metoprolol makes me. I am walking around passing gas all day without being able to control it.
Avatar f tn If you are speaking of the Atenolol, a beta blocker, I claim it has no effect on stroke mitigation, other than to the extent that it stops any episodes of AFib. From what you say your AFib isn't causing you athletic activities any problems. That suggests to me that includes you resting HR is reasonable as well as your exercise HR. All this being the case and if your BP is also in a good range I'd say I'd be inclined not to take the BB.
Avatar f tn more and more i see ramipril 2.5 ordered to help kidney function...could you elaborate for my own knowledge please...
Avatar n tn I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.
Avatar m tn I also tale predisilon ,Azithiopring,Ramipril,Aspring. But my Doctor says i have to take this drugs for ever. Now they stopped predisilon . can't be HSP cure?
Avatar m tn Best thing you can do to help your kidney function is to get your blood sugars down to normal (ie. 80-120 range, or as close to this as you can safely manage). I don't know of any OTC meds to helps. Maybe a good moisturizer will help a little. You can also ask the pharmacist to recommend. You can also ask the pharmacist about alternative meds to ramopril if this is what you are reacting to.
Avatar n tn Some patient with angina note that they are able to exert themselves in the water and take up water exercises. Most important, consult with your doctor to see what strategy is suitable for you. And make sure that you have had appropriate tests to evaluate your risk for heart attack and stroke.
Avatar m tn I am too scared to take the new med as I read 5 mg is equivalent to Metoprolol 100mg. I am scared to take in the night due to the fear of hypotension and low pulse rate. But the doc assured that nothing would happen but I am too scared to take an initial dose of 5mg Bisoprolol straightaway....Want all you peoples help in this regard and advice me whether I could go ahead with Bisoprolol 5mg without any fear....Thanks in advance...
