5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.

I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?

I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.

Stopped taking plavix after one year, now taking 81 aspirin every other day. Stopped taking beta blocker at one year. Still taking 2.5 Ramipril twice a day. My BP can run 95/65 & Heart rate 60 when resting. I have had two Nucular stress test and performed outstanding. Not currantly seeing any cardiologist as all previous only want to do is test and interventions and or Pacemakers. I exercise three times a week in health club where I do HIT training and get my heart rate up to 175.

I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.

You may need, in addition to the ramipril a low dose of a beta blocker. Otherwise, an EP study and ablation can be attempted if medicatons fail to treat your symptoms.

doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel,amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.

My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?

Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?

He has been put on medication which consists of CORTISONES, RAMIPRIL, LASIX and many other medications to reduce the protein, cholesterol, blood pressure etc and some Magnesium for his cramps. He has blood and urine tests every month which so far are showing a small sign of improvement. Hello, Your blood pressure is obviously high but you have started with the lifestyle modification with exercise and dietary changes. Moreover ACE inhibitor drugs like Ramipril is a good antihypertensive and should lower the blood pressure. However ensure that you take this drug regularly as prescribed and get your blood pressure monitored at regular intervals.

i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..

I am sorry to hear that you have CHF at your age, you have helped put my mind at rest that there is hope. I still dont feel any better yet although my GP has doubled the dose of the Ramipril. I have also been called into head office and asked if i should continue working. As I dont have a partner I will struggle finanically without a job. That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.

I can only answer for the cardiologists I have had. They tend to stick to the same brand for each medication and gain a kind of experience in what dosage to administer. My cardiologists tend to stick to bisoprolol, ramipril, atorvastatin for example. I suppose over the years you get a kind of feel for how much a patient would need.
