prozac

1711940 tn?1308352692 Please check with your vet to ask if it is suitable for your dog. Dogs with glaucoma should not use Klonopin. Use it with caution in dogs who have liver disease. The dose range is 0.1 to 0.5 mg/kg of Klonopin. Which would be 2.72mg to 13.6mg for a 60 pound dog.
581310 tn?1253029550 I am feeling no different with the anxiety. I am thinking I might need to get on xanax for a little while until my prozac is increased since it is really driving me crazy. Any advice would be great.
Avatar n tn It's always best to give your Dr a call if you're having side effects. Dizziness can be very common with these meds. I'm not on Prozac but on another antidepressant and I still get dizzy at times. Your Dr will let you know if you should stick this out or not. Hopefully this side effect will go away and you will do well again on this med.
Avatar f tn I had to stop taking Prozac because of anxiety after taking it with no problems for years. So, if it works for you now, keep an eye on how it's working later.
2059648 tn?1439766665 Severe anxiety, including separation anxiety, can sometimes be successfully treated with a medication such as the antidepressant Prozac, which also treats obsessive-compulsive behaviors.
Avatar f tn m on 10mg of Prozac and have noticed some weight gain within the past 2 months or so and my doctor has suggested I start taking Wellbutrin along with the Prozac but my biggest concern is having panic attacks. I suffer from panic disorder w/ agoraphobia and the Prozac has been helping but I'm afraid that adding on the Wellbutrin may counteract that. (I know it is considered a stimulant for a lot of people - hence the usual weight loss.
Avatar n tn Our child was on Prozac for a year when she was six years old - she sufferd from severe anxiety and depression. We had major issues with the Prozac. Her doctor placed her on Effexor for two-three years with moderate success but some side effects as sweating and poor sleep issues. She now takes a very low dose of Celexa and is doing well. If it were me, I think I might choose point (3) with one of the newer SSRI's (they tend to have fewer side effects).
Avatar m tn I take Prozac. Your side effects could be from the Prozac, or it could just be anxiety in general. Anxiety can do this to people, weird dreams, waking up in a panic etc. Or it could be the Prozac. I have weird dreams time to time, I have no idea if it is the Prozac, or just me having dreams. I haven't really looked into it. 7 days on Prozac will not relief you from any anxiety. it will take 6-8 weeks. and by the 4th week or so your doctor might have you increase to 20mg instead of 10mg.
Avatar m tn Hi i am on my 1st month of prozac but my anxiety it aboutt he same and thats with taking an ativan everyday. Has anyone tired tofranil or TCA's for anxiety??? I was on tofranil before for almost 2yrs but it was for postpartum depressi with anxiety racing thoughts insomnia ect.... It worked real well once my body adjusted for 8 weeks i think.
Avatar n tn I beleive my 6 year old son has social anxiety and selective mutism in certain situations. He is overall doing fine but it seems to be affecting him at school and I'm concerned about the uncoming school year. I'm waiting for an appointment for him with a professional but wanted to know your opinion about the use of Prozac for this problem.
Avatar f tn I was on prozac for 2 years for panic disorder. It worked very well, but I also took xanax as needed for breakthrough anxiety. However, for the first two weeks or so, the prozac made my anxiety much worse. I toughed it out, and it did its thing.
Avatar n tn Have you written to Dr. Gould for his feedback? He's the expert physician for mental health questions on this forum. What is your chief complaint about the Prozac? Do you also have anxiety with your depression? I've been told that Prozac is quite energizing, so it can be challenging for those folks who have anxiety coupled with their depression. Personally, I would never take Zyprexa. It's in the antipsychotic family, I believe. Have you read the side effects?
Avatar n tn He was always anxious and never really into other dogs, but would play with them every so often. As he has gotten older, his anxiety has increased. We got another dog when he was four, and after a while, they ended up liking each others' company and playing. She unfortunately died only two years later, and he was obviously disturbed by it. He seemed more anxious on walks and lonely, so we decided to get another dog.
Avatar f tn The only time i DID NOT have any anxiety symptoms was when i was pregnant with my son. The symptoms returned with my first menstrual cycle 10 weeks post partum. I currently take Prozac 10mg 1 daily in the morning (been on it for about 16 days) and i take .5 Klonopin once daily in the morning. I have been taking 1/2 that dose so .25 in the morning on the days that the anxiety is not bad....however starting yesterday the anxiety has gotten really bad. I took .5 yesterday and today.
222417 tn?1241564300 Since I have anxiety and her sister, depression doing anything can be difficult but with meds - if the shrink has no problem with NOT increasing the dose I have to think of alternative ways to deal with the anxiety. Having large dogs demanding attention and to take me for a walk helps but it's not for everyone. Hope you manage to get through this.
Avatar f tn My 7 YO son was diagnosed with anxiety over a year ago. We started him on Prozac this past September after coming to the realization that therapy alone was not working for him. We noticed IMMEDIATELY that he was hyper and attention deficit on the Prozac. The Dr. dismissed my claims and said that my son must be ADHD and that anxiety masks the disorder until the child gets on meds. She then tried to put my son on Ritalin. I fired her right quick!
Avatar n tn I have a 13 yo son diagnosed with general anxiety disorder, mild depression, and OCD. He was put on prozac 1 1/2 years ago, starting at 10 mg. It helped a little, so eventually it was increased to 20 mg. In January, it was increased to 30 mg, but it seemed like the anxiety fears were more on the upswing, and the OCD wasn't as much under control. He also had a lot of health issues going on that same year, and we believe the prozac was tangled up and at least increasing his stomach pain.
274158 tn?1276347187 Not towards me. Just other dogs......I thought he was showing aggression towards my daughter, but he was just trying to sniff her crotch! He is gross! I guess that's what dogs do! But, no agression towards us humans, just dogs, which isn't fun....
581310 tn?1253029550 I have had anxiety for many years.prozac made it worse. I'm not sure about a connection with hashi's but it could be part of being hypo for you. I was dx'd hashi's 3 years ago, no idea how long i had it before the dx, sssoo it could be related..i now take xanax for the anxiety and it helps.
Avatar n tn Prescribed 20 mg prozac for 15 years because I suffered from panic attacks. During my 15th yr. at 20mg prozac I suffered a panic attack and Dr. upped my dose to 40 then 60mg. Did not have another panic attack, but could not overcome the anticipatory fear of having another attack. Dr. included 50 BID of Lyrica three weeks ago and I'm feeling normal again. Anyone have any experience with lyrica?
581310 tn?1253029550 I was put on prozac a low dose to start with 10mg. I have while being on this for a month that I am having more anxiety. My GP put me on trazadone in the evenings which I do sleep well now and xanax as needed. I don't like taking the xanax it makes me tired. My question is I was thinking about having my therapist put me on klonopin for the anxiety and switch my anti depressant. What anti depressant do you think would be good for anxiety and ocd?
Avatar f tn As far as evidence goes, the only problem this has been shown to help with are those with heart palpitations that are real and not imagined and those with social anxiety. Prozac isn't the best antidepressant for anxiety because it tends to be stimulating, so I'm guessing your main problem is anxiety. Only trying this drug will tell you if it will work, but it certainly was never approved for this purpose. It does help some. It doesn't appear to help most.
Avatar n tn It does appear that your grandson suffers from anxiety - whether it is OCD or one of the others or a combination is really irrelevant - diagnosis and treatment is what is important as your grandson will not outgrow his anxiety nor will it go away; but, anxiety is highly treatable and the prognosis for early intervention is excellent. One site that is excellent is the Child Anxiety Network (www.childanxiety.
Avatar f tn Gave second dose of Prozac last nite. How long for it to take effect? After my vet ruling out physical issues it was ruled behavioral. He was peeing on my bed. My last resort. I welcome input, new to this site.
1042423 tn?1260994959 I currently take Klonopin for the panic disorder, but was just prsecribed Prozac to help with my general anxiety. I have tried other SSRIs like Lexapro, but always had terrible dise effects. Has anyone had a good/bad experience with Prozac? What is the SSRI that typically produces the mildest side effects? I'm getting really tired of constantly switching meds, Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!!
