Jails, institutions or death are the most common long term side effects I have seen, or the person quits and has a program of recovery. Why do you ask?

i wonder did a doctor tell you you had multiple chemical sensitivites....

I have read all the side effects but it is hard finding anything on the severe long term effects of taking this drug. Does anyone know a link or maybe some answers?

hi folks-just looking around for info re long term side effects of treatment and came across you lot ranting away on your keyboards! I successfully completed 6months tx in april 2007 and am now unable to do very much due to the fatigue,pain and confusion I've suffered since. Just wanted to be added to the list of damaged souls. Have lost a lot of friends to this horrible disease so am very glad to have cleared it but at what cost?

I am reading there are long term side effects with treatment, I am getting the heebie jeebies I have been positive till now but need to know if this is true.

I figure the more I know the better before I see the doc. Has anyone had side effects from the Adderal or Provigil? How long have you all been taking them? I am definately going on something (even the the doc doesn't know it yet) lol. I just want to pick the "right" one. Thanks again Anyone else have scoop? The more the info the better - right?!

I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night! The next day, I have slightly more energy than usual. I love Provigil, but, due to the chest fullness, can't use it very often so that is why I was considering Adderall (I'm also ADD). In your opinion, how did the Adderall compare to the Provigil in terms of fatigue reduction?

Levoxly's long term side effects if taken at the right dose are very rare, with the most common being hair loss nothing new to most of us here.

I'm sure you had lots to talk about.... I think that the only drawback Quix has mentioned is the desire to become Superwoman, and doing too much, because she feels the pseudo-energy. Then she crashes, because she's done too much. But she has learned over time to overcome this. I don't remember any untoward side effects from the Provigil. I don't ever recall feeling "high" or anything. It wasn't like caffeine, either.

I have no symptoms and feel great; I am 54 and wondering if HEP C would kill me or if the treatment could cause long term effects that could ruin my health. The longest living male in my family was my father 86 and had slow progressive dementia the last 10 years.

BUT, I have to take it or I am in pain. So try not to worry so much about the long term effects when you are trying to survive today. If you are worried about this I would talk to my doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and there may be something they can do differently. t even remember if I had had a problem before I started the new med....So please, be careful with all the meds out there....the side effects can be worse than the disease!!!!! I hate the thought of trying yet another new med but I really do need something to help w/ fatigue....I'm having a lot of trouble making it through 12-15hr workdays......My neuro suggested maybe trying Ritalin.....he says Provigil is the best, but it is kind of pricey even w/ my insurance.......

You are in a trial correct? Somewhere around week 40 now? Does your trial not permit rescue drugs like Procrit? I know different trials have different guidelines. Hgb is low and if Procrit is not permitted why hasn't your doctor reduced your Riba? At this point a reduction in riba will not be as critical if it were to occur early on in treatment. I have two unopened boxes of Provigil sitting on my dresser since Oct 08. After reading possible side effects I opted not to take it.

do all of these crappy (literally) side effects EVER fade??? ive only been on the combined treatment for a month now....it just seems to b getting worse...the vomitting, crapping, fatigue,body aches, head aches, raw throat and mouth....i just hate to ask my docs for all kinds of meds....just wondering if it gets better closer to the one year marker????

Lol, of course he said no. I always love the way I feel on prednisone, but it certainly has some nasty side effects after long term usage. I was on it for nearly three months some years back, for a lung infliction. Later that year, I had months of trouble with water setting in my feet and legs, and had to take meds to expel the extra fluids. It went away, but it was nasty. I've heard of a lot of nasty long term usages from the stuff.

She began having serious side effects. I started reading on the internet about long term effects. Now she has nearly all the side effects to greater or lesser degrees. The worst is falling. She's fallen 4 times in the last week and is covered with bruises, new and old. She is now taking 14mg per day and can't stop. Does anyone know of long-term side-effects of Avonex? I've had about 8 or 9 injections so far - was diagnosed a few mos. ago. I will see the (MS) dr. in 2 days, a 3 month follow-up visit. Does anyone know of any questions I should ask her? Thank you very much! I appreciate any feedback.

m interested to hear if anybody has had similar long-term side effects from the Myelogram procedure and whether there is any more effective way of treating the symptoms.
