Avatar f tn I've decided to try to handle my acid reflux by eating more easy to digest foods, staying off fried foods and adding lots more green vegetables and celery to my diet to alkalize my body (as well as taking Aciphex). I usually have yogurt and a green drink in the morning. I added whey protein to the mix today and now my heartburn is back. Whey is supposed to be super easy to digest. Avatar n tn Here's the tricky thing with ultra high protein meals...protein is insulinogenic. When your body receives lots of protein, it promotes the secretion of insulin. It's odd how this has not become common knowledge. Everybody points the finger to sugar and carbs as insulinogenic foods, but protein flies under the radar. If you google "rank list of insulinogenic foods" you will see that protein rich foods are high on the list, next to the carbo and sugary stuff.

Different things I've read says that meat is to be limited to 5 ounces per day and no whey. Does anyone have any information on how our protein levels are reached with these limitations?
