Avatar n tn Not a pregnant female (or any other kind) but the mere fact you eat a vegan diet has nothing to do with whether you're eating a healthy diet or one suited to losing weight. You also say you work out, but don't say how much, so it might not have been enough for you to speed up your metabolism. Some people are not suited to vegan or vegetarian diets, and some are -- you might be one of them and you might not be, but most vegans eat according to ideology, not health.
Avatar n tn I have had very odd palpitations when consuming whey protein since 2001. Since 2005, it appears that other foods (wheat gluten, rice, corn products for example) cause or exascerbate a whole different palpitation. I haven't noticed this on any message forum before. Has anyone experiences something similar? Food, specifically a few types of protein seem to have caused me major problems.
Avatar f tn Ginger biscuits did the trick for me. Small meals and perhaps crackers first thing before you get out of bed. Doc can give you something to help if you can't eat anything. Hopefully you'll only have a week or two more before it eases off.

Avatar f tn I've decided to try to handle my acid reflux by eating more easy to digest foods, staying off fried foods and adding lots more green vegetables and celery to my diet to alkalize my body (as well as taking Aciphex). I usually have yogurt and a green drink in the morning. I added whey protein to the mix today and now my heartburn is back. Whey is supposed to be super easy to digest. Has anyone else had problems with whey protein?

Avatar n tn We have a cat that we have only had for a year so we don't know her age. The last vet we took her to told us she is very old because she doesn't have many teeth left. A couple of months ago her eating changed and she quit eating like she use to. I took her to the vet and he ran blood tests, full body xray and kept her overnight to check for a UTI. It all came up negative and cost me $500. I brought her home and she is eating but not like she use to.
Avatar f tn Have some salty crackers, peanut butter snacks, or some other protein snack before you get out of bed in the morning. At breakfast, cold apple sauce, pears, bananas or any citrus fruit will help you feel satisfied early. Baked potatoes, although, less tasty for many, are highly nutritious. The fruit's potassium may help prevent morning sickness. At night, try eating something high in protein snack/meal before going to bed, as this will help regulate your blood-glucose levels..
Avatar f tn m a vegetarian so I get my protein from tofu and other foods made from soy, beans, nuts, and dairy products. You don't know all the ingredients in the protein powder so I'd ask my doctor about it.
Avatar n tn Avoid spicy foods, do not eat 1-2 hours before bed. Eat smaller, more frequent meals . Eat high protein foods, low carbs . Also at times saltine crackers can help as well. Tums are good yes, took them with all of my pregnancies. Make sure you buy the extra strength ones. Take 3 at a time. a they are also a good source of calcium. And before taking anything ask your Dr if it's safe first more than likely they will write you a prescription for something if the tums won't help.
