i've been clean from painpills going on 2 years. it was horriblr. i've been on adderall xr 30 mg for approx 4 yrs now. i used to take it right but in last several months started taking it about 2 times a day. i should have known better but it gave me energy i needed to get things done at home. i'm widowed, older and lonely and i think that's why i abused it. my next prescription won't be until about 3 more weeks.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get your OWN energy back from taking Adderall 30 mg? I've been off them now for 21/2 weeks. I stay so tired and my housework isn't getting done. I'll be 66 Sunday, so does age have anything to do with it? I'm widowed and lonely and the Adderall helped me keep busy.I take Pristiq for depression, and it helps. My health isn't great but i manage.
recently stopped taking ProzaC BECAUSE IT SEEMED TO LOOSE ITS EFFICACY..{oops} I'm a psych RN and noticed a lot of Pristiq being ordered. I thought I'd give it a go. It's been about 3 and1/2 wks. The regular G.I. probs have gone away. The bizaare side effect I now have is like a psychotic break. I cant talk because I cannot remember what I have said sentence to sentence. I become aware that I am rambling to the poor other person. I dont even remember what i have just said.
Effexor and Pristiq are not the dance thing. Sane family. Venlafaxine vs desvenlafaxine. Pristiq had added benefit of norepinehprine uptake inhibitor or something. Weird that everyone is getting prescribed 50mg when the added benefits dont kick in until 100-150mg. Before swapping drug altogether (depending on non mental side effects) try upping dose first maybe.
There definately is a difference between Ritalin and Adderall. Adderall is stronger. For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall.
Then the following day is marked by apathy and irritability. Symptoms improve after one day of no Adderall (and a break helps prevent tolerance). Taking Adderall also increases my heart rate, and I feel physically more nervous, despite anxious thoughts not being present. I would like to remain on Adderall, as the treatment for my ADHD has given me a substantial boost in confidence and learning, which has been invaluable and overshadows its negatives.
When I read you were adding adderall I felt compelled to relay my experience. Adderall is basically legalized speed. Do yourself a favor and try all other options before turning to adderall. I was addicted to adderall. I just finished physical withdrawals and now I'm dealing with phychatric withdrawals. This drug is sold on the streets and you might find yourself needing more and more in order for it to work. Just be careful!

I had a schizoid episode when I was a teenager. Mental illness runs in my family. I take pristiq, lamactil, adderall, and clonazepam for panic attacks. I'm usually pretty stable on my meds. But I still don't understand why the hours of 1-5 p.m. are the worst for me I'm great in the morning and evening and night, but mid afternoon I go down hill and very depressed or sad. Also the weekend is very hard for me.
Vyvanse is metabolized differently, so could last longer in your system. It was done so you could not snort it like you can with Adderall. Adderall gives a stronger first "hit". V is smoother and takes longer to take effect so may not be as noticeable. Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
t think he listens. Got me on 20mg of Adderall three times a day and 20 mg of Prozac at night. Tried to give me Seraquel but when I explained it made me horribly sick and unable to function he told me to just cut it in half and try that. 20MG Adderall (once daily), 50MG Pristiq (for anxiety, once daily), 10MG Percocet (3X daily), 50MG Ultram (1-2 pills at a time, 3X daily, Soma (350MG 3X daily), and Diclofenac (75MG twice daily).
In addition, the last two Saturdays I have awoken with a HORRIBLE headache. I attribute that, however, to caffeine withdrawal (I drink coffee during the week).
And while I'm listing my illnesses, I should also mention that I have had approximately 25 kidney stones in the last three years alone.
So when i see my doc this week he will be switching me to something else. Adderall also makes me sweat horribly and raises my blood pressure. I am assuming he will put me on concerta or straterra I don't know. I have read many posts about peoples battles with adderal addiction and how trying to stop was a living hell. This is scaring me about coming off the med. Luckily i have been taking it a couple of months as opposed to years of use. Has anyone had any experience getting off this med?
not personal experience with adderall....but it is normal to feel fatigue with adderall wd...it is not life threatening and for the most part it is a mental wd vs narcotics being both/mental and physical...the fatigue is common among narc wds as both drugs supply extra endorphins to the brain//many feel fatigue after narcotic cessation to be a physical symptom like the runs...but it is a result of taking endorphins away and waiting on the brain to "catch up" on endorphin production....
i took it for about a year and then got off it because one side effect was increased appetite and I gained like 20+ pounds. So I then went to Effexor, Lexapro, Remron, and I am now on Pristiq. SO far the prestiq has helped my depression. I got severely depressed a few months back because I was not doing anything. I would just lay in my room all day because of the fear of my panic attacks. Anyway lets just say that I am getting back to my old and happy self.
what are your thoughts on Adderall ir how many mg should a person adult I must say take per day is 90 mg a solid dose for a heavy person?
I just started Pristiq and Im also on ativan and abilify............wondering if anyone else has taken these meds together.I felt great after taking the pill last night now today im kinda scared and spacey feeling...any thoughts?
A friend of mine is prescribed to Adderall 20mg XR, as am I. After a few weeks she felt as if the drug was not working. She opened one of her capsules and found that it looked as if it was sugar inside, as well as tasted like sugar. She did so for 5 capsules and they all contained the same sugar-like substance. It looked completely different from the medicine which a few of her other adderall 20 mg XR capsules in her prescription consisted of.
