1448936 tn?1363206346 Yes, this can all be due to GERD/acid reflux. Acid reflux can be surprisingly annoying and I hope you find something that works well for you soon.
Avatar f tn Hi. I take Prevacid, which is a little pricey, even with insurance. However, there is another one, Aciphex, which was about 30 dollars cheaper. I am back on the Prevacid as the Aciphex didn't work as well ( for me...I was on Prevacid for years and only switched because of the cost...65 dollars). You may want to ask about that. Also, I was told my pharmacist that otc prilosic works well too.
296025 tn?1233256719 Prevacid is a Protein Pump Inhibitor (PPI) like Aciphex, Nexium and Prilosec. It's indicated for GERD (chronic acid reflux) and as far as I know has nothing to do with treating Hep C, other than if you happen to have GERD. I believe Prilosec is a generic sold OTC but not 100% sure so speak to your doctor and pharmacist regarding switching off.
Avatar f tn Im 29 weeks+3d n ive been havin acid reflux at night really bad for a week now... im having it now :( what are things to help this???
Avatar n tn We had a barium swallow test done yesterday and it showed a small amount of reflux. She had not eaten for nearly 12 hours and had a completely empty stomach. Couldn't this fact mask the severity of the reflux? Her doctor said no. Though her symptoms seem to worsen as the day progresses. Because of this, we now have an appointment with a neurologist to have an EEG. I am not sure she does not have reflux because this behavior only occurs during feeding.
Avatar n tn i take prevacid for my gerd, can this cause atrial fibrillation This discussion is related to acid reflux.
Avatar n tn My 19 year old daughter has been treated for acid reflux for the past 2-3 years. October 5, 2007 her gallbladder was found to be functioning at only 3% and was immediately removed. 1-2 weeks after surgery she felt fine. As the weeks have gone on she has had pain in her esophogus, constant burning sensation in her stomache and nausea 3-4 times per week. Time of days doesn't matter or empty or full stomache doesn't seem to have any affect. She had an upper GI and an endoscopy.
Avatar n tn I believe that prevacid can cause weight gain ..seems so many babies are now diagnosed with reflux we used to call it cholic and wait for it to pass now seems they put them on meds.Still your doctor would know the answer, I think its the meds and whilst you child ius on them he may gain weight.good luck once he is off the meds he may go down to a normal weight.
324372 tn?1222820202 I had the same thing. It turned out for me to be irritation of the esophagus from reflux and so they put me on Prevacid. Holy cow was that a miracle pill!! I didn't even realize how bad my reflux was until I took that and felt normal. It's best to tell your OB about it so it can be treated.
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
435139 tn?1255460391 Hello Ladies...how's everyone? Any due dates coming up? Anything new? My son has been 'sick' since Saturday...possibly reflux? Not sleeping. fussing a ton (never fussed for 7w), eating every hour but spitting up a ton and throwing up too, arching back...somewhat inconsolable...it has been rough!
Avatar n tn her reflux. She also has allergies for which she takes Zyrtec and Nazonex for. Please tell me what is the next step in care?
Avatar f tn 00 in the morning to have any food at all, I try to have non fiber foods for the first four hours. Tomorrow I will go without the Prevacid completely and see what happens.
Avatar f tn It is thickened to help slow things down but oftentimes it is too harsh for the baby to tolerate the solid foods. Any indication of more gas since rice has been added? The added gas causes reflux flares, too..... If you go to the health pages at the top of the right side and click it on and then go to an entry about STARTING SOLIDS ... this may help you, too as your baby is at that age and it can get worse or get better when solids are introduced.
Avatar f tn he is on keppra and phenobarb, but has also been on prevacid 2x day for the reflux for the last 5 mo. he eats 2nd foods still basically because he has sensory issues. the reflux has defitnately taken its course. my son wont take in the calories that he is supposed to take in. i can try to make him but it normally will make him throw it back up. he only weighs 18 lbs, which is ok .he has never been over 18.5 lbs ever. the ped GI and the ped surgeon want to put a feeding tube in him.
Avatar m tn How do we prevent acid reflux which occur maybe once Or twice a month especially after eating the wroong food .
Avatar n tn Hi I have had GERD for a few years now. I've never had halitosis. Recently my reflux started acting up, so i doubled my prevacid. I'm not sure what is causing my very horrid halitosis. I have figured out it is not dental related. In fact when I burp, I can feel the hot yucky gas coming up from my stomach. A recent google showed that prevacid can cause a side effect of halitosis. Other comments insist it is the GERD but I am not entirely convinced.
Avatar f tn I have the worst acid reflux. I've had it my whole pregnancy and it *****. Also this after taste after eating ***** too. Did anyone do anything to ease the two?
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds worth it to me too! It would be really nice if this baby has hair, my first was bald.
Avatar f tn About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago. I stopped the Prilosec and lo and behold the PVC's are gone or at least back to the minimal occurance that they were before.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I have been taking prevacid my entire pregnancy. I have ulcers and really bad acid reflux. I called my drs office to make sure it was ok and the nurse saidit was safe. It works wonders for me. I don't get heartburn unless I miss a day. Which I never do because it's so bad. I'm 8 weeks +4 and everything is going fine with baby.
290867 tn?1333569278 Linzola - Have they tried medicine for Acid Reflux??? My youngest (16 months) would cry a lot and would tense up her body and rear backwards. My ped gave her Zantac and that fixed the problem. My ped did that without me having to go to a GI specialist. The testing that they do (from what I have heard) is very invasive and I don't see the harm in your doc at least trying it. It just sounds so much like Acid Reflux to me.
Avatar f tn I have been lucky so far to have only gained 16lbs so far. May be a lot to some but for me that's great! My last Baby I gained 25/30lbs by my 6 mth mark. Only symptoms I'm suffering from lately is heartburn. Omg it's really bad. And it's with almost everything. Also walking takes a lot out of me already. I try to walk now that the weather is getting gorgeous out but I get so winded so quick. But in most pleased that my baby is 1lbs 6oz already!
Avatar n tn 5yrs later) and the hand tremor is minimal but my eyelids are going nuts. I am assuming its the drugs for reflux (I am having surgery for that soon). Does anyone know of anything else that would be causing this? I pray that once I'm off the meds for good, the tic will eventually go away.........I hope........
