I had a heart attack in 2001 and had 3 stents implanted. My internist and cardiologist both said I would be on Plavix for the rest of my life. I tried taking aspirin with it and it caused me to have internal bleeding, so of course it was discontinued. Now I would only take aspirin if I felt that I was having another heart attack. The latest precaution about Plavix is to not take omeprazole with it (Prilosec, Prevacid or Nexium). Hope that helps, but you really need a cardiologist.

I have a terrible problem. I feel like I am about to kick the bucket. I have horrible arrythmias when I have the urge to defacate and when I attempt to defacate. I become very lightheaded, fain, sweaty, and my heart races out of control. Help me! I take a beta blocker, but it doesn't help. Can I do something about the vagus nerve to get rid of this problem?

But right now I am taking a break for 7 months. My problem is I started having heart burn for 3 months now, I HAVE TAKEN PREVACID, PRILOSAC AND NOW i AM ON NEXIUM.But they ar not helping me at all. hi i am a 37 year old male. I have had a hiatal hernia for 17 years. I have also been dealing with panic attacks ever since. I can't smoke (which is good), I cant drink alcohol. I can't eat big meals. I can't eat much chocolate, coffee, caffeinated sodas, too much of anything that is a stimulant (pain meds, energy drinks, etc.). Lately, i had been smoking, it literally caused me a panic attack almost every time i finished one.

Its actually very scary. You feel like you might be having a heart attack. I am 46 and the past year or so I have had weird problems with eating and then getting blood pressure to go up, it went up to 187 over 150 just recently, and wouldn't go down until I took two more blood presure pills. This was at night and the whole next day I was weak like my heart had over worked itself. (My Question is) Are the other people affected taking Prevacid, and Lisinopril.

I have seen more than one post about hiatal hernia and heart symptoms and it is making me wonder if this could be my problem. I do get indigestion very often and when I eat I noticed palpitations as well.

I have acid reflux and afib and they are definitely related. I am taking Prevacid but sometimes wonder if it has any effect on my irregular beats. I was on Zantac for about a year, then my anti-arrhythmic meds had to be increased and I had to go back to a PPI. I will try the gaviscon and see if that helps. Do you know if it interacts with warfarin? It seems many drugs do. Stress (lots of adrenaline) brings on my af episodes, as well as caffeine, spicy food, too little sleep.

Do you have these exact symptoms often? The radiating pain to your jaw and shoulder? How long do the pains last? I know with my pvcs my chest can hurt for a bit but it doesn't last hours and is generally mild as opposed to the crushing pain of a heart attack. Do you try to do deep breathing to calm and slow your breath down when you start to feel panic? Does it help? I would say to please go and get checked out if these are new or worsening pain.

They have an ingredient that actually heals your stomach and it does help the reflux and Gerd. I’ve had a silent reflux for a long time and I actually had a heart attack about a month ago. Hope that helps you some.

Hi, Me and my brother both suffer from acid reflux. It can make you feel like you are having a heart attack. There are alot of acid reflux medications. I'm on pepcid prescription it works better then the over the counter kind. My brother is on prevacid. I was going to the hospital once a week because of acid reflux. Also get your gallbladder checked out. Since they removed mine I am 90% better. I barely take my meds anymore.

It feels as if my stomache is being ripped out and sometimes as if I am having a heart attack. I can barely eat anything without pain. Stomach acid is also a major issue with this. I have been on prevacid and after about 6weeks felt better. Now not so much. I have also had an endoscopy, hida scan and so on with no luck... Any suggestions???

If Prevacid helps, it most likely is related to the liquor and reflux/gerd is my guess as a non medical person ..... One can have gravel, sludge and grit w/o stones and still have a Gallbladder attack. Maybe stop all liquor for at least a month and see if anything settles down. My husband went through all the screening and got accepted today! YEAH!!! He will start within the next week or so. His blood platelets are low-70. Of course he is a little intimidated by the what if's, side effects????? Like the heart attack, stroke etc. He would go to the hospital weekly for his shots and testing and I am sure they can find any abnormalities in enough time to take him off the drug ...but just a little skeptical is all. Can anyone help shed some brighter light my way?

Hi and thank you for the question. I have had off and on problems with Chest pain and pressure. Two nights with in the last 5 days I have woke up around 3:00am with a burning pressure in the center if my chest and slightly to the right. I have been taking 2 15mg Prevacid a day for a full week and one a day for a bout a week or two before that. It seems to do nothing or make it worse. I have always had anxiety and for a long time was obsessed with there being a problem.

is this spasms or what any one elsa do this with flutters .. i have a blood presure monotor that reads heart beats and it tells you if your heart beat is not normal i have took my bp lots today to see if it records the flutter but when i feel it while takingmy bp it dont show it on machine. not sure if machine not record them. one time it about 5 months ago it showed up as a irrg heart beat but not showing these today. any help out there lol.

I am very pleased to hear of the success some of you have had with Prevacid in the use of asthma control. I have an 11-year-old son who was diagnosed with asthma and it is "out of control" we could never find a reason for the onset of an attack and finally we consulted a pulmonary specialist. The Dr. prescribed prevacid and I am hoping that he has the success you have had. I only wish we had known this sooner.

I'm 17+ weeks and been having heart burn like every 20 mins, tums help me out alot but how much of it can I take? Will anything else help relieve heart burn?

My primary care doc says the vegas nerve runs alongside the heart and if it is irriatated, it can cause heart issues. Your pregnancy might be triggering your pvcs. I had terrible heartburn during pregnancy, as I was shortwaisted and there wasn't a lot of room with everything pushing up. I take Prevacid 30 mg. in the morning and it seems to quiet things down. The last time I was having problems, I had gone off the Prevacid.

I am 83 and have none of the classic GERD symptoms, just the arrhythmia. I have a heart murmur and the cardiologist is watching the valves bit at the moment he is not worried about my heart. Can you comment?

Around 3 years ago, I had an attack that came on where I got very dizzy and felt even disoriented. My heart started racing. And even started to shake uncontrollably. Arms and legs. That episode lasted about 30-45 minutes. I was at work at the time so a co-worker had to drive me home. I wrote it off as food poisoning at the time. It happened again about 9 months after that. Then again 6 months after that. And it is increasing. Every few months. This week, it happened TWICE! Two days in a row.

In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.

I had my gallbladder removed 8 years ago and started having acid reflux symptoms a couple years ago (I thought I was having a heart attack) and so started some OTC Nexium but that only helped for a month. So, went in to doctor and was diagnosed with GERD and was put on prescription Prevacid. That didn't help but had to try that first before insurance would pay for Protonix. I have been on Protonix for over a year now and am having problems again.
