i've had Keinbocks Disease for over 10 years now, have had 4 operations each one worse than the last but nothing seems to be working. I've been taking TRAMADOL and PREGABALIN for about 4 years now but the pain is getting worse and meds aren't controlling it.Does anyone know of a medication or procedure for this disease that actually works!
Coming off of the percocet was a walk in the park compared to coming off of tramadol. Everyone is different but tramadol gave me the worst depression of my life. I am a happy person! I couldnt even look at myself in the mirror without crying. It was AWFUL. talk to your doctor about coming off of it. He will taper you off correctly!! Best of luck with your condition!
The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with the use of tramadol products, including tramadol hydrochloride, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs, and triptans, with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs), and with drugs which impair metabolism of tramadol (CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 inhibitors). This may occur within the recommended dose (see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY, Pharmacokinetics ).
Other people have listed Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine), Neurontin (Gabepentin), Elavil (Amitriptyline) and Lyrica (Pregabalin) as some alternatives.
I am currently on Lyrica + Cymbalta. I can't say that it's working but still playing with dosages.

t be used long term but Tramadol could? You could ask for another medication to treat your pain. Pregabalin and Amitriptyline are also used to treat the pain symptoms from a symptomatic pineal cyst. Perhaps you wouldn't have abuse issues with a different medication. If you're honest with your doctor, he/she could help you with this.
It is understandable that you are disappointed in yourself. But coming back to the forum and sharing was a GREAT first step in making new choices.
tramadol and co-codamol can be taken together. tramadol is a morphine salt based drug which acts on the brains pain receptor. co-codamol comes in different strengths, all with 500mg of paracetamol per tablet. some with 8/15/30 or 60mg codiene. co-codamol acts upon the sensory nerves and motor neurons. when combined these 2 drugs provide very effective relief of moderate to severe pain.
Last August I started getting the signs of a sliPped disc, so pins and needles in my left leg down to my foot, and in my right leg to my knee, in december I had an MRI which showed no disc damage, Dr sent me for a cortisone injection and prescribed Tramadol (200mg twice a day, pregabalin 150mg three times a day) with an MRI after 6 weeks, again this showed nothing.
The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin,was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?
Yes I take tramadol 50mg three times a day for Paine, Pregabalin 150 mg in the morning & Pregabalin 300mg in the evening,for muscular spasm, It's a very delicate balance and the timing is crucial ,I have tride other medications but this seems to have buckled the Paine, but as I said these drugs are very tiring & my days just seem to slip past in a dream,
I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.
no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

I've had a look through PubMed database to see if there have been scientific studies specifically on the question of tolerance, but without joy. As far as I can tell, the main assumption/claim is that because pregabalin is not known to be metabolically active (ie, the liver and body don't metabolise it into other molecules) the patient shouldn't develop tolerance.
I am now a bit more sceptical of that claim.

I posted recently about my findings from a private doctor. He said I had cells in my anterior viterous and I had a large hameoredge in my temporal retina of my left eye. However the doctor could not find out why I get the constant deep eye pain and swelling around my eye and also the redness on my eye. He said the symptoms matched scleritis but he checked for the condition and also did a b-scan but couldn't find any scleritis or anything wrong with the muscles.
Most of us cannot prescribe or advise (we are not physicians), but I am aware of seemingly countless medications that are available. Those medications fall into "classes." Your Pregabalin is an "anti-seizure" medication which has been found to lower the nerves' ability to send pain signals -- that's why it's helpful to a lot of people with back/neck/nerve pain. Another class of medications are the "opiates" (like morphine, hydrocodone, codeine, etc.).
after trying different tablets im now on tramadol and pregabalin..im beginning to get very frustrated as much as im trying to live my life as normal as i can its beginning to take over my life! the pain in now more and more and days off are far and few between! i come home from work and have to sit down for the rest of the evening! ive been to physio and that had to stop as i was getting no where with that! ive now been refered to occupional therpy where im to attend a course for 7 weeks ...
