Few years back, when my mom was washing toilet with acid.. she felt some irritation.. suddenly her one of the eye got reddish.. she went for treatment, and after some days, the eye came back to normal.
But now, the same got reddish again, after multiple check up with the eye doctor, she prescribed "Prednisolone acetate ophthalmic suspension USP" and she used for a week.. now her eyes are 70% ok.
I have just had an appointment with my ophthalmologist who prescribed Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP,. 1 drop, four times a day for 4 weeks. He suggested that if the drops don't fix my Uveitis (which has gotten quite severe) he would proceed with an injection.
1. I do not feel comfortable using these while pregnant because of possible effects on the fetus.
2. Is the injection safe while pregnant. What are the associated risks?

here at medhelp of course will a have a more precise and correct information than my, but as far as know, as your doctor said, Prednisolone Acetate Opthalmic Suspension USP1 could increase IOP. I had a cataracat surgery 2 months ago and use the same drops. In my case IOP 12 hours after surgery was 24, but 5 days after it was already at 17, but, as I use glaucoma drops, they helped keep my IOP below 20.
prescribes a continuation of prednisolone acetate 1% eye drops 4x per day, at least up until my 3- week post op appointment. The possible side effects scare me. Can I gradually taper off the frequency of these steroids as long as the eye stays clear and comfortable? I saw some recommendations on-line for lowering frequency in 2nd week to 3x per day and 2x per day in 3rd week.
I doubt the drops would cause it.

Prednisolone Acetate, and 2: Ofloxacin. I am taking these several times a day for 6 weeks..for each eye.
I was also diagnosed with glaucoma and am taking 2 eye drops for life..to reduce the pressure in my eyes. They are 1: Dorzolamide HCl/Timolol Maleate and 2: Latanoprost . These are all Ophthalmic solutions.
Can the cataract surgery itself, or, the eye drop drugs I am taking as listed above, cause dry eye?..and if so, what would you recommend I take, if anything, to prevent this. Thanks.
The pressure might be high if you're a steroid responder and the drop the surgeon took you off of was Prednisolone acetate ophthalmic 1% (brand names PredForte, EconoPred). Or if you've had pneumatic retinopexy this may also cause an IOP increase.
Vision recovery will take some time you just need to be patient.
My eye doctor sent me to a cornea specialist and after an exam he asked me to keep taking the acyclovir tablets (1 pill - 3x a day) and prescribed Pred Forte eye drops (Prednisolone Acetate 1%) 4x a day. Reading about this stereoid, I saw that it is not to be used on infections caused by virus (eg. Herpes). What should I do????? Thank you.
Even yesterday , after 23 days of surgery, the IOP was 24 on both eyes( She is still on , Prednisolone Acetate Opthalmic Suspension USP1 , TWICE a day this week and once a day next week.
The hospital suggested to have a Glucoma test. Her vison is perfect and the same doctors during all the consulatations confirmed that the neves are in perfect order and no problems at all. Her visiion is extremely good on the left eye for which the surgery was done. She has cataract in the right eye too.

Maybe the tapering should be more gradual. You should talk w/ your doctor about this. Instead of stopping the prednisolone acetate drops suddenly after daily use, maybe you could talk w/ your doc. about taking them every other day for a week, then every two days for a week, etc. until you've completely stopped.
now dr has advised to use steriod prednisolone for treating retinal detachment. my question is that is it safe to use steriods??
The doctor has prescribed two types of eye drops to be administered 4 times a day. They are ketorolac tromethamine and prednisolone acetate. Will my vision recover or is this just stopping further loss? I use to have better than 20/20 and am praying I will get it back.
I am using drops prednisolone acetate drop(predmet), zymar, cyclopent, acular ls. Also there is no retina detachment. I still find haziness in day light.
I am 36years old and after the surgery my vision is almost 6/12.
My GP then prescribed Predsol (Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate) drops - one drop three times daily for five days. The list of side effects looks quite scary and so far I havn't used them.

I am in touch with my surgeon on a regular basis especially since my wife is also an MD in Pharmacology. He has opined that this could be due to withdrawal symptoms of Prednisolone Acetate 1% eye drops. And although I have tapered the dose thrice over a period of 3 months, the problem of reddishness of the operated (right) eye and the pain of eye ball persist periodically.

R said I should wait two months and then two weeks before our visit I should start putting Omnipred (Prednisone acetate ophthalmic suspension 1%) drops 4 times a day in my right eye.
I believe he is planning some kind of laser surgery to correct the problem.

Between the time I met with Dr. M and the time I met with Dr. R my eyesight in my right eye seemed to be getting better.
