Avatar m tn I have just had an appointment with my ophthalmologist who prescribed Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP,. 1 drop, four times a day for 4 weeks. He suggested that if the drops don't fix my Uveitis (which has gotten quite severe) he would proceed with an injection. 1. I do not feel comfortable using these while pregnant because of possible effects on the fetus. 2. Is the injection safe while pregnant. What are the associated risks? Thank you!
Avatar f tn Does Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Suspension USP, 0.3%/0.1% (sterile) treat Corneal Ulcer?
Avatar m tn Prednisolone Acetate, and 2: Ofloxacin. I am taking these several times a day for 6 weeks..for each eye. I was also diagnosed with glaucoma and am taking 2 eye drops for life..to reduce the pressure in my eyes. They are 1: Dorzolamide HCl/Timolol Maleate and 2: Latanoprost . These are all Ophthalmic solutions. Can the cataract surgery itself, or, the eye drop drugs I am taking as listed above, cause dry eye?..and if so, what would you recommend I take, if anything, to prevent this. Thanks.
Avatar m tn here at medhelp of course will a have a more precise and correct information than my, but as far as know, as your doctor said, Prednisolone Acetate Opthalmic Suspension USP1 could increase IOP. I had a cataracat surgery 2 months ago and use the same drops. In my case IOP 12 hours after surgery was 24, but 5 days after it was already at 17, but, as I use glaucoma drops, they helped keep my IOP below 20.
Avatar m tn my doctor said u have dry eyes and suggest me ..eyemist gel (hydroxypropyl Methycellulose (hypromellose) ophthalmic gel 0.3%) and artificial tears and for curing redness doctor suggest me Lotepred eye drop(Loteprednol Etabonate Ophthalmic Suspension--0.2%w/v sterile eye drop ) . and protect your eyes from direct Uv rays ..for which i have purchased a sun glasses. I am really suffering . Kindly help me so that i will overcome from this problem.
Avatar n tn The pressure might be high if you're a steroid responder and the drop the surgeon took you off of was Prednisolone acetate ophthalmic 1% (brand names PredForte, EconoPred). Or if you've had pneumatic retinopexy this may also cause an IOP increase. Vision recovery will take some time you just need to be patient.

886699 tn?1270779744 Has anyone tried the suspension tables as part of therapy for POTS? I went to a home show yesterday and was feeling very tired and tried hanging from one for about 10 mins and it felt sooo good! I was just wondering if this might be good for us. Thanks.
Avatar m tn ve been on Corticosteroids (Ophthalmic Suspension), and recently (6 weeks ago) was put on a even heavier dose and strength of Prednisilone. Now i haven't suffered any infections or anything in the afflicted eye but it seems to me like Episcleritis just might have an underlying cause. The medicine does help the pain, and in some cases entirely eliminates it. However, every time i start to feel the pain and swelling coming back, it doesn't always stay within the confines of the orbit.
Avatar n tn d Alrex (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic suspension 0.2%) QID. Eyes less itchy but far vision still much worse/blurry than before exam and headaches whenever I try to wear the glasses. I go back for another exam on Saturday but am concerned about long term effects. Would you recommend seeing an ophthalmologist rather than continued exams with optometrist? Any Ddx ideas other than allergic reaction? Thank you in advance.
Avatar m tn this concerns me, if what you mean is PREDNISONE (the canine variety of prednisolone). How long has your dog been taking prednisolone? This is a very powerful drug that should not be given long term. It can cause some severe and very damaging side-effects. Prednisolone does not cause or treat seizures, but it can create some severe symptoms and primaryt conditions that can lead to a dog having seizures.
Avatar f tn I've been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
Avatar f tn Prednisone is activated by enzymes in the liver to turn into prednisolone. They do have similar uses but prednisolone is more readily absorbed by the body. Prednisolone is usually used when there is liver toxicity or liver failure involved. There is no great difference between them, other than the above, however ... it is normal practice to begin at a low dosage, rising to a level that's appropriate for the weight of the dog.
412909 tn?1211069559 In a situation like yours the great number of these problems are forms of ocular or eye or ophthalmic migraine (often do not have headaches) these are often hormonally driven. Avatar n tn “Use of a Compounding Pharmacy Hyaluronidase for Ophthalmic Injection Anesthesia”, Hagan III JC, Hill WE. Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, 27:1712-1714, 2001 You should not keep the eye patched all the time as it will lead to muscle contracture and also the eye will not attempt to start tracking again. I would ask for a referal to a strabismus/pediatric ophthalmologist for an eye muscle consult.
