Pravachol and leg pain

Common Questions and Answers about Pravachol and leg pain

pravachol

Avatar n tn Rhabdomyolysis, kidney problems so that I ultimately had to stop them, but knee burning/pain while walking wasn't one of them.
Avatar n tn leg pains and severe cramps for three nights (they left & never came back), resurgence of the peripheral neuropathy which I first got years ago from a year on Pravachol (statin) all the way up to my knees, worsening of my lung disease (which I discovered started with the Pravachol, stopped when I was off statins, and grew again when I went back on) AND wildly erratic heartbeats and tachycardia (all the way up to 140 beats per minute).
Avatar n tn Pravachol (pravastin sodium) does not ALWAYS cause diabetes. The drug, however has a number of possible serious side affects. A discussion of these may be found on the United States government website for the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Go to their site and type in "pravachol" on their internal document search engine.
Avatar f tn Over the years the symptoms increased, and I now have severe lower back and neck pain, joint pain (especially knees) and my RLS has become more pronounced. I now have the symptoms beginning much earlier in the day, so have had to increase the use of Sinemet. I now believe the Lipitor may be the cause of my "restless leg syndrome" and also the cause of these other aches and pains that are becoming much worse.
Avatar n tn Fat-soluble statins like Lipitor and Zocor cause more damage than water soluble statins like Pravachol and Crestor. Hence the latter should be tried at lower dose. Possibility of hypothyroidism and diabetes should be ruled out as the presence of either disease can complicate the muscle pain. Please discuss these points with your treating physician. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Avatar m tn No other symptoms what so ever. Find it hard to loose weight even I try, take toprol and pravachol, was on Z-pack for strep throat when CT was done. Someone?
Avatar f tn My psychiatrist has me on Lamictal, Effexor, Neurontin, Wellbutrin, and Nuvigil. From my PCP I take Pravachol and Lisinopril. Is it safe to take all these together? All answers are appreciated.
Avatar n tn As far as the caffeine and Nutrasweet issue goes, you might want to try a natural sweetener called Stevia. You can get it in health food stores and it is all natural and not made from any chemicals. The only problem I have had with it is that it dissolves better in hot or warm drinks than in cold drinks. If caffeine raises your blood sugar, you might want to try some of the flavored herbal teas.
Avatar n tn Also, severe nocturnal leg cramps and a severe ramping-ing up of the peripheral neuropathy which hit years ago with a year on Pravachol, but it was the heart stuff that spooked me. However, the heart symptoms all resolved in a matter of months except for the Brady/RBBB and have not come back (it's been over a year now) and of course the cramps disappeared in about a week. So don't fret; you may come out of the woods yet.
Avatar n tn I take prevacid for heartburn and pravachol for high cholesterol; also using mupirocin ointment since I had sinus surgery in September.
Avatar n tn Over the past 12 years or so I have taken Lipitor, Pravachol and, when 200mg total Cholesterol wasn't good enough anymore, Vytorin, which brought it down to 160. But, at the end of all that about two years ago I wound up in the ER with severe kidney problems. The doctors said, don't worry about it, just muscle pains and sent me home.
Avatar m tn Findings consistent with Vascular disease etc. Put on asprin and Pravachol for precaution. Had an Ultrasound of heart on 29/5/08, showed enlarged Aorta and Left ventricule. Never had High blood pressure, taken 120/90. No chest or back pain. No shortness of breath or any other symptons. Of note- Occassionally through childhood, adolescent and adult years when did high cardio exercise found it hard to get a breathe(scary), always ice cold feet.
Avatar m tn I went to my doctor and told him about it and he never addressed them. And I also noticed that my head and face and around my mouth goes numb. Does anyone know what could be causing these headaches and the tingling numbness ? Its really strange that I get these headaches right after eating dinner!
Avatar n tn Hi...I am on numerous meds...heart(tachycardia arrythmia)-ATENOLOL; High Cholesterol-CRESTOR; Hernia-PRAVACHOL; Fibromyalgia & Osteo-Arthrytis-KETOROLAC; water retention-LASIX; Sinus-FLONASE; Dysrythmia-ATIVAN. I have also been on EFFEXOR for 5 years for severe depression. My dosage has been increased twice in the past month--I now take 187.5 mg...I woke up at about 12 midnight last Sunday and I have no recall of the past 4 days; however, I apparently withdrew $7000.
1353681 tn?1387083733 ( The main symptoms are leg pain (an 8 out of 10), leg twitching, daily, and also foot pain too (on bottom). All her tests , twice, have shown nothing. She is becoming more depressed not knowing what this is, and why it's continuing. She's even wanted to 'end her life'. She is going to see a new PCP soon, and a psychiatrist too. ANY ideas ?????????????? (she is diabetic but they do not believe it is neuropathy).
Avatar n tn however, I have high blood pressure (norvasc), osteopena (sp) and high cholesteral (pravachol). I really don't want to take fossamax or any more drugs than necessary, but also do not want a recurrence of breast cancer. Is there a clinical study and shows femara vs placebo rather than femara vs tamoifen (novartis trial)? What is the general recommendation? Can you stop femara if side effects become a quality of life issue? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I'm 31 weeks and I find my leg pain and back pain worsening the farther along I get. My leg pain usually happens before bed time while I'm laying down and as for my back pain it's all the time but most in the night as well. Does anyone have any similar symptoms? If so what helps to ease the pain or is this normal? I usually just try to sleep it off or massage the pain through.
1806721 tn?1554333407 In the past 6 months, besides rapid weight loss, I also experienced fatigue, weakness, cold feet, dizziness, sudden drop of blood pressure, increased thirst and trips to restroom, low grade fever on and off with left side abdominal pain. My doc thought I had UTI and ulcer b/c my urine/blood test show staph and h pylori infections. Two months ago, my fasting glucose was 92 (normsl). However, I also heard that you may still have high blood sugar even though the fasting level is normal.
1090423 tn?1286287650 I really don't think so, I've never heard of it. But your back could be causing your leg pain like Sciatica.
Avatar n tn For the last 3 years, I was managing my idiopathic peripheral neuropathy ( burning and tingling sensation in my feet) with fairly low doses of Lyrica. Not really a problem with exercise and walking. My pain level was at about a 3 on a scale of 10. About 4 weeks ago, I started exercising 6 days per week using elyptical, treadmill and weight machines to lose weight. I lost about 15 pounds but the pain in the soles of my feet increased to about an 8 on a scale of 10.
Avatar f tn Major symptoms were hair loss, extreme fatigue and exhaustion and leg pain. PCP says that leg pain is NOT coming from thyroid. Levels are normal and would not increase synthroid. Found a doc who switched me to armour. Within a week or so the fatigue and exhaustion improved. In the first couple of weeks on armour leg pain seemed to only come late at night and when I wake up on the morning. Leg pain now seems to linger all day and seems to have gotten worse. Energy level is good.
Avatar f tn I had my FET on 3/2/09. I just started expieriencing the slight cramping, backache and hip ache and stiffness and leg pains. I'm guessing this is all caused by the progesterone. have my first test on 3/11/09. i just wanted to wish everyone good luck!!!
Avatar f tn ve had 3 hip implants and the pain from the hip causes pain ALL the way down my leg. If you stop and think about it your entire leg is connected to your knee and therefore it WILL affect your entire leg. I hope that you will give us the missing information such as your EXACT diagnosis and like I said we might be able to be of more help to you. :) Looking forward to your update.........
