617141 tn?1225706428 Transfer was postponed till I get better. Doctor gave me Lasix 40 mg to be taken once and Neo-K (potassium chloride) 500 mg twice daily for 5 days for now. My concern is that I ate two potatoes, one banana, a cup of yogurt, and tomato, all potassium sources today.
1618806 tn?1304734477 Dash and Morton Salt Substitute (for example) which is loaded with Potassium Chloride. If you take the time to read the ingredients on ANY Ms. Dash flavors, you'll find nothing but herbs and spices, there's absolutely NO potassium chloride in it. Point of reference: http://www.mortonsalt.com/products/foodsalts/salt_sub.
Avatar n tn Potassium and Calcium and important electrolytes in muscles. Potassium is one of those electrolytes you dont really want to be messed up in your body. High potassium levels can cause heart dysrrhythmias, since your heart is a big muscle, Other signs of hyperkalemia(increased potassium) are nausea vomitting, restlessness, irritability, I am looking in my book right now to make sure i can give you the most accurate information. Chloride there is not much on.

Avatar m tn m wondering if you can or can not use something like Lo Salt that has potassium chloride in it along with beta blockers, and if so how much is recommended. I'm looking to substitute lo salt for some other high in potassium foods in order to cut down on my sugar content.
Avatar m tn 8. So I took some Potassium chloride, seemed to help, been drinking milk more often (high in potassium) and now the PVCs are back, not as bad as before, but they mainly occur when I try to sleep. I find I sleep on my right side and they arent as prevalent. Seems like most of my discomfort is while laying down. Anyone else experience this? I just worry that perhaps my heart is weakening, which might explain my slow heart rate and what appears to be "healthy" blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Can you tell me if the indication of change in a womens chloride level during her most fertile time of the month is directly related to the LH surge taking place? Or can you have changes in chloride levels and no LH surge? thanks!

456906 tn?1208569831 Too much potassium can be bad for anybody...they actually use potassium chloride in HIGH concentration for lethal injection. They use the same thing in IV's in low doses to keep people hydrated in the hospital. Too much of anything can be bad. I think it would be VERY difficult to bring yourself to the point where you had too much potassium.
Avatar f tn In physiology, the primary ions of electrolytes are sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), chloride (Cl−), hydrogen phosphate (HPO42−), and hydrogen carbonate (HCO3−). The electric charge symbols of plus (+) and minus (−) indicate that the substance in question is ionic in nature and has an imbalanced distribution of electrons, the result of chemical dissociation".
Avatar f tn You might want to try some supplements like Potassium and Magnesium. Many people suffer from cramps and spasms from a lack of these minerals. They are available at drug stores. You might want to talk to a doctor before using Potassium as it can cause problems if you take the wrong amount. - It is a salt substitute.
Avatar f tn different kinds of potassium)on amazon. It is a powder formula, love it because I can’t swallow pills. (FYI: different kinds of potassium when you look to order) I ordered an 8oz bag in January 2020 for around $12.00 & has last me all year. I hope this may help someone!
Avatar m tn I can't find the source of my information but I remember reading that metoprolol is potassium sparing drug - meaning it doesn't cause potassium levels to drop. I don't believe that consuming fruit with a high K diet alone would raise K values to the point of side effects. At the moment I am more interested in the magnesium deficiency/arrhythmia information that I have read about. There seems to be something to that side of the electrolyte balance.
