Avatar f tn s Thyroiditis is infertility/premature menopause. I went through premature menopause at age 35--have had no periods in 3 years. OB/GYN and also (useless!!!!) reproductive endocrinologist did not even test me for the hashi's antibodies at that time (of course because my TSH was normal--ha!). Never had thyroid problems at all and they had no idea why I went through meopause so early.
Avatar f tn I'm not a physician, but I can offer a few ideas. Since you have a pulmonary disease and high blood pressure and high cholesterol, it's possible your brain is not getting enough oxygen, so you're getting drifty. Could be you need to have a little oxygen mask to sleep with and that might help. An internal medicine doc should review your whole health picture and decide what to do.
Avatar n tn If menory is memory then it's a big time yes to lapses at least in perimenopause (I haven't made it to menopause quite yet). In addition to the memory issues I've also had problems finding words, I saw it referred to once as "losing one's vowels" and I love that analogy.
Avatar m tn What you need to do is eliminate the common causes of increase in weight such as overeating or snacking, lack of exercise, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Anemia, low proteins, adrenal gland problems, kidney and liver problems and Cushing Syndrome has to be eliminated. Late night snacking and poor sleep patterns too cause weight gain. Certain medications like antidepressants cause weight gain. Polycystic ovary too causes weight gain, hence has to be ruled out by an ultrasound of abdomen.
Avatar n tn post thyroidectomy...aches/joints...fatigue and general malaise ...dawning on me that my body can no longer respond to stressors...what happens to TSH....the entire feedback loop....I only have a fixed amount of thyroid hormone available....argggh...would appreciate any info that explains what happens physiologically post total thyroidectomy...
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar f tn Hi judyeve, Thanks for your post. Yes, i did have tests run for thyroid and everything was normal there. I just was trying to determine if women's hormones are still fluctuating post-menopause or is everything related to hormones calm once you're in the post-menopause stage. No one seems to have the answer to that question - or if they do, they're not responding here. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The right side of my body is freezing, I have not had a period for almost two years now, experiencing hot flashes for 4 years (thought it was menopause but after an exam by gyn she states I show no signs of menopause, wth?) FYI, the right side coldness of my body is new, 2 weeks now and is probably from the fact I multiple problems with my spine (lumbar, thorax and neck) soo most likely that is from either a: nerves being pinched or something touching my spinal cord. Butt..
493068 tn?1224765315 I had 48 weeks of Peg Interferon and Ribavirin 2 years ago and have many problems such as severe ocular and facial rosacea, joint and muscle pain, heahaches, severe fatigue, memory problems and depression. Has anyone researched the possibility of lasting post side effects or can you help me research this??
14774527 tn?1436560759 Ive had no problems. But over the last several months ive gotten really moody, nothing makes me happy, im always grouchy. Ive been told that there could be a chance thar my ovary may one day not oroduce enough hormones. Is this true? Are there any signs or symptoms? Any help is greatly appreciated.
1710020 tn?1311737124 For the past three months have been so tired. For past (1) month have been having memory problems and heart palpatations at strange times during the day and night when at rest (totally relaxed) Hot flashes. I am 54 and menopause in 2006. Endo says symptoms are unrelated to the thyroid. My hair seems to be falling out more since the surgery or at least I am noticing it more. My tests before surgery are as follows TSH (3rd 1.17 N T4 FREE 1.1 N T4 Throxine 7.
Avatar f tn Hence you may neither be having peri-menopause nor PCOS. Burning in the mouth can be due to problems with the teeth and gums or due to stomatitis or inflammation in the mouth or due to deficiency of vitamins. Since you have regular cycles and are in good health there is nothing to worry about. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a healthy diet, regular exercise and supplements of vitamin B complex, calcium and vitamin D will help. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar n tn Or fibromyalgia which can make you feel like a truck ran over you and cause memory problems/mental fog. Ask your doc for help with the depression and constipation. See a Gynecologist and check out the possibility of menopause and a Rheumatologist for the possibility of fibro. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Memory problems and/or "brain fog" are a very common symptom of hypo. However, as you mention, other scripts, etc. can also be to blame. If you'd post your most recent FT3, FT4 and TSH with reference ranges (ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report), we can take a look and see if you look like your meds are well adjusted for you. Do you have other hypo symptoms as well? What thyroid meds do you take and dose? What other meds are you taking?
Avatar f tn I have been having hot flashes about two years. The memory thing, mood swings, and insomnia, we cannot judge for I have a TBI and PTSD from injuries I sustained when I was in the military. But I have only missed one period. A doctor, last August, wanted to put me on birth control pills for three months to try to stop my periods. I tried it. It did not work. Now I'm being told I am actually in menopause but my body forgot to quit bleeding? I am scared.
Avatar f tn So my question is at 45 years old, no kids, hysterectomy 4 years ago, with these problems can they affect my mental status, i have problems concentrating, some days i have no desire to get dressed, just want to lay around and rest, i dropped 30lbs in 6 weeks when all this started, several symptoms, just mainly concerned with the foggy thinking loss of memory problems.
1410068 tn?1282729167 t think menopause causes limb weakness, heaviness, headaches, ON, memory problems, numbness and pain in my hands, brain fog, concentration problems etc. If anyone know if menopause can or does cause these things could you please let me know. I'm still waiting to get into see the other neurologist. I have to get all test results first and fax them to this dr. before they will even give me an appt. This P.A.
392759 tn?1200786083 I haven't been through any treatment, so I don't know what I'm talking about, but I've had some serious memeory issues that I've been able to improve. I found that if I drink lots of cranberry grape juice it helps soemthing and my memory improves. I tried regular cranberry but that didn't help. I got the idea after my granmother's dementia problem. She had been drinking a lot of coke and suffered from dementia.
1399170 tn?1333845258 Hi, My name is Mike, and I'm 15 years old. For the past few years I have been experiencing memory problems. I don't forget serious things like names, just small things like homework, things I've said a few days before, even things I ate on the same day sometimes.
Avatar f tn Thank you to all who gave input. Yes I don't believe the hormone change post menopause is significant enough to keep them. My dr wants me to have an ultra sound on ovaries to discount cancer first, in case we need another physician in that field. The waiting is getting to me a little. I feel like I have all the symptoms...........but its probably a cyst. At my age even that is a worry. I wonder if the recovery time with VH and lap a bi-oophorectomy is much different?
Avatar n tn Post menopause, I am 70 years old, morbidly obese and extremely inactive, I have A Lot Of clear almost odorless vaginal fluid pouring from me, feels like the amount of water breaking from when I had children, it happens almost daily and I am bleeding like a normal period 2-3 times a year
