On the other hand I have heard some people say that Hydrocodone gives them more energy and insomnia when they take it, so it really depends on how your body reacts to it. I just started on Zohydro ER because the idea of not taking acetaminophen with hydrocodone was tempting. (There's a Black Box warning about the acetaminophen in Vicodin). The first day I started the Z. (about 5 days ago) I got less pain relief and much more pain than I had with 5/375 Vicodin! That's seems totally wrong but it happened. Ppl are not developing liver disease in mass based on the proper use of acetaminophen or even the improper use of it. It is a possibility as are all side effects from medications. Our bodies are an amazing machine and every one is different.

My doctor changed my script to Percocet without acetaminophen when I told him the Percocet was making me sick to my stomach and vomiting more often than not after taking them.... so far so good!

OK, here's the "strange one" of the group. I have taken Vicodin for 4 years. It only makes me "grumpy" at the end of a day when I have over done my limitations and I am hurting and absolutely nothing works to ease my pain. My family knows when it's one of those evenings and they are kind enough to leave me alone and let me be a "B" all by myself. I don't even want to be around anyone. But those days are not often.

Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.

If anything I need to get my meds lowered or get the doctor to write the Percocet without acetaminophen. They do have Percs without acetaminophen. Being an ex heroin user, I know I am addicted to the pain meds and it will be a fight to get off them but I am determined to do so once I can get my back in better shape. Narcotics do cause sexual problems and can cause you to have addiction issues but if your in a lot of pain you must ask yourself if the side effects are worth the pain relief you get from the meds. I would suggest you talk to your Dr about this before going cold turkey, you do have other options and you will most likly need to have some kind of pain control so your putting yourself through needless pain.

I never took 2 in one day before and the first time I took 1 perc in one day I was fine with no side effects. After taking 2 yesterday with 7 1/2 hours in between the dosages I woke up today with THE WORST HEADACHE EVER like my head has been hit with a ton of bricks. I also take alot of meds for anxiety and depression. My doctor is one of the top doctors out there and I know he is very caucious with these pills.

If you are having withdrawal (and I doubt it) a NSAID will not help much, if at all with it. However they won't hurt either as long as you watch the amount of acetaminophen(tylenol) you are taking on a daily basis. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
