percocet

Avatar f tn the patch helped for the first 5 months, but it has a lot of side effects for me. not everyone gets the side effects and many find it very helpful. i am going to ask to be switched to oxcontin ER with the percocets for breakthrough pain. at least for a trial period of 2 months.
Avatar m tn They seem to keep you calm and really help with the cravings and side effects for some. Your not taking much so u may want to just have someone u trust taper u. I know if your like me, I have no one I can trust. LOL.. found that out the hard way. But i am trying the lyrica I have had in my pill bag for quite a while after reading that it helps alot of people, just started today, but usually by now I would b having cravings and probably have given in and taken another oxy 30.
Avatar n tn But, a warning, I was SICK as hell while on the stuff, and went back on Cocaine just to deal with the side effects. So my liver is ok, but with the HIV there are lots of potential problems. I see my "pain pill syndrome" as the only option for my craving coke. Only 4 yrs.on the needle, and I am a fulkl-fledged junnkie substituting codone & morphine(which is TOO strong & makes me itch like heck). My sister says since I'm terminal anyway, WHY NOT?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Percocet and I received the generic brand Oxycodone W/APAP 5/325 Two weeks later i had a kidney stone and was prescribed Percocet again. This time the generic name was Endocet 7.5/500 Why was it Oxycodone one time and Endocet the next time.
2110255 tn?1334192149 Opiates are life saving and necessary for some people, people just do not always educate themselves on what drugs they take and what the long term effects can be. You will not stop breathing overnight by taking 1 percocet as prescribed by a doctor. Hope you feel better.
Avatar n tn percocet 10/325, oxycodone extended release 20 mg. I started taking more and noticed that if i just take a lot every day, I don't ever get a migraine, at all. So I'd say I'm taking btween 80-100 mg. total a day. Last week I tried to stop, because I am getting close to my due date and don't want to have a baby born addicted. Well the withdrawals were awful.
176495 tn?1301284012 she was talking to the pharmacist earlier today who told her DON'T DO THAT...THERE CAN BE NEUOLOGICAL SIDE EFFECTS, something else her doctor didn't tell her... So..anybody with vision problems after mid-long term use of percocet?
Avatar n tn It is my opinion that you need to speak to your doc regarding the side effects of the Percocet. Yes, Percocet has acetamenaphin in it, but that can aggitate the stomache and the liver. My MAIN worry is the tongue swelling and raw sensation. I do not know lots about withdrawl symptomology, but I am familiar with allergies. I am worried you are having moderate reactions some medication/ or less likely a food that you are taking in.
Avatar f tn You'll find some great information on side effects and drug interactions on just about every drug out there. http://www.drugs.com/drug_information.html http://www.drugs.com/sfx/fentanyl-side-effects.
Avatar n tn Try Ultram,(Tramodol) it's a synthetic narcotic like drug but not on the narcotic control list and it does not produce those irritating side effects that codiene and percocet does. For me it actually kills the pain better too. Your general practioner will be much happier if you ask for that then for the supposed stronger stuff! Oh. it does have some mood elevating effects too so it is somewhat addicting.
903710 tn?1248393412 Will these side effects go away or should I call my Doctor now, versus waiting till my next appointment which is about 3 weeks away?
600857 tn?1230061370 Hello Gmama: Unfortunatly, that is a side effect of the opiates. Like Beargizmo stated, you will periodically find yourself becoming "moody" with the Oxycodone (Percocet). Because it is a stronger drug and it is working good at the moment, there will be a time when your tolorance will elevate and the Oxycodone will not be as effective and your mood changes with it. When your tolorance has heightened and the Doc increases the pain meds again, your mood will lighten up.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to be allergic to oxycodone (percocet) If I am not allergic to Morphine or Vicoden?
Avatar f tn In the beginning, a doctor may not have a big problem jumping from a 5mg Percocet to a 10mg percocet (you may or may not notice many bad side effects, if any). But when your tolerance is such that you need several pills a day (or high-dosage fentanyl patches), increasing an already-high dose can put your body over the edge. I know you feel like "why can't they understand I'm tolerant, and simply give me more meds.
Avatar n tn You may notice mood swings, depression or anxiety set in. Panic attacks are common and scary too. Mental side effects can be hard to deal with and may not get them but be prepared and discuss it if it occurs. The sensation in your body is liken to restless leg I think. I never had restless leg but I did have restless body! It's not a real term I suppose but that's what it feels like, I just had to move! It was worst when sleeping. Insomnia and all that went with it was very hard...
Avatar n tn Seems he may be longer at this transition that he originally thought....any must be experiencing other side effects?
Avatar n tn The physical side of addiction is the easy part it's that mental side that always ropes people back in.
Avatar f tn I have been taking generic oxycodone although I was prescribed percocet because I do not want to pay 30 bucks instead of the 10 buck co-pay. I am finding that they are not working as well as when I had the actual percocet. Is there a reason for this? By the way, I am new to this forum but I have been reading it for awhile (lurking) but this is my first post.
Avatar f tn I hadn't a clue - and I although I had no desire to go back on narcotics after all this time - she prescribed me something called, nucynta. It doesn't stop the pain entirely but it helps considerably ... however the side effects are rather aggravating. My heart beats much faster, it interferes with my sleep, and I have insomnia already! I also get quite warm/flushed and nauseous. The worst of the symptoms is the itching. There is no part of me that doesn't itch, despite taking benedryl.
Avatar m tn oxycoton verses oxycodone effects and side effects and length of time to start reducing pain and how long the curveis.
Avatar m tn how can she continue to wean off with little side effects. the perc. has 325 of acetomedfin. is the long lastong or short?
478356 tn?1208020593 I don't know what kind of antibiotics you are taking but percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Tylenol is recommended for pregnancy and oxycodone is a category B, so it is generally OK to use when a doctor approves of it. As long as the doctor knows you are pregnant, they are looking out for you and the baby and are looking at the risk of the infection vs the risk of the medication. They have determined that the medication is better than the infection.
Avatar m tn Well, usually the medications for pain relief are prescribed in low doses and while the two medications may be different these would have similar side effects, though this should not affect the weaning on the medication. Perocet is more tolerable and has lesser dependence as compared to hydrocodone. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating doctor. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
374225 tn?1269902862 If it's been 2+ years of Oxycodone your system should be more tolerant of the effects of the meth. I just deal with it the pain instead of increasing my dosage or the number of pills I take. , But I am no longer able to work. I have several meds, including a muscle relaxant that I can interchange when my pain becomes severe. That has worked well for me. I also have found alternative methods that help, like a massage chair and a jacuzzi.
Avatar f tn Will Roxicodone be as effective as Percocet and what side effects should I be aware of? Thank you very much for your input.
Avatar m tn I am taking Percocet NOT Oxycotin....Percocet is Oxycodone NOT Oxycotin My other question is I have been taking two Percocets pd for 3 weeks now. If I quit....
Avatar m tn Morphine is great pain killer but it has the side effects that are as bad as the pain itself. Right now all I take is Percocet 10/325 and it's just not cutting it anymore, the pain is getting worse and I need to find something a little stronger that the percs.
Avatar m tn When I was on narcotics - hydrocodne or oxycodone - or anything else for that matter - I would often times get kind of hyper while on them. Many times, I would also have difficulty sleeping, I found that my mind was racing a lot. However, one of the side effects from narcotics is also "nodding off" - so sometimes it does not make sense that you would not be able to sleep. I can't explain it, but I also could not sleep. Are you still in pain?
Avatar f tn If oxycodone is causing this side effect, you may want to ask your doctor for another medication ... or maybe he'll add a sleep aid. You can also try some all-natural things like Melatonin or Alteril. When I first was given oxycodone, it would knock me out, but after I was on it for a while, I found that it disrupted my sleep. I'd be exhausted, but my mind would be racing. Sleep is important to healing as well!
