blood-sugar

Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar f tn This evening a relative used my guitar right before me. My guitar strings press extremely hard into the skin and I think I may have some tiny cuts on my fingers(still hurt hours later) and I suspect that my relative may have done the same. If he has HIV wouldn't this warrant Post exposure prophylaxis?
1085545 tn?1284042254 Your blood sugar is in the higher range and get it re evaluated( fasting blood sugar and preferable Hb A1C). High blood sugar depresses the immune system and the body is susceptible to candida and other fungal infections. My sincere advice would be to consult an endocrinologist. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn Hi! Thanks, : I think you should get your blood sugar test done, fbs //post prandial sugar / tlc /dlc/esr . Don’t use oils & creams for hair , take two baths daily , use a good hair shampoo and review with your dermatologist.
Avatar m tn Please test your post eating blood sugar. Test your blood sugar 1.5 - 2 hour after eating your regular meal. The post eating number should ideally be < 120, and not more than 140.
Avatar n tn You're right, your doctor a bit premature and in need of diabetes education/training. Within 1 hour after eating your glucose [blood sugar] is still rising. Saying you're high 20 mins after eating is a false/positive and meaningless jibber jabber. The 2-3 hour postprandial test is to see if your body has produced the right amounts of insulin to return your glucose back to normal levels. This is the normal PP time period, not 20 mins.

Avatar m tn Branched-chain amino acids might affect blood sugar levels, and this might interfere with blood sugar control during and after surgery. Stop using branched-chain amino acids at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery. Interactions. Avatar f tn You have to put in some info and it shows you girl or boy depending. With the pendulum test, you lay down and hold a pendulum(or a necklace, long string with ring, etc) over your tummy.
Avatar n tn 1 hr reached as high as 160. In recent months, after testing, I never had a reading over 135 or so after 1 hr of eating and typically after two hrs my glucose levels would be just below 120 which i understand is normal. Whats with this? I have been under stress w/ home renovations etc ... could stress cause a spike? 2/ I also notice that i am getting more frequent hypoglycemic situations where blood sugar is around 85 or so which again is normal yet i feel lousy. Can you explain this?

Avatar f tn But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be? I go to the Dr tomorrow so I will ask him, but I'm just curious.

Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar n tn Is 130 high for blood sugar?

7631083 tn?1394352887 For the past week or so there has been a couple of times where I feel very weak and my hands start to shake. I know it means my blood sugar is low so I will try to hurry up and eat something. Its sometimes when I first wake up and there are times when its in the middle to late at night. I'm 36 weeks and 4 days. I should probably tell my doctor when I go in on Friday or should I be more worried about it and do something now?
