Common Questions and Answers about Pacemaker jobs

pacemaker

Avatar f tn Hi my boyfriend is 31 years old and we're waiting for his appointment to get his pacemaker installed. He has to find some other type of work to do then what he was doing before because he's always done physical jobs. What jobs can he do with a pacemaker? He has cardiomyopathy and we're unable to get a list of programs he can go study or jobs he can do. His heart is at 25%. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I think that my pacemaker may have moved position, it doesn't feel the same as it always has, I mean to the touch. We all are very familiar with how or pacemakers feel to the touch, "I hope I'm explaining this right" but my pacemaker feels as if it has spun or turn on it's side and I am scared craze. Will it unplug or come loose?
781550 tn?1236029747 Afte my pacemaker was replaced, I am unable to drive or even ride in a rough vehicle such as a light truck or van. I can only drive about in well sprung vehicles with a soft ride. After driving a HiLux Toyota utility vehicle the angina pain was so severe I had a heart attack. A neighbor drove me to church in his utility and I spent ages after with angina.
Avatar f tn I HAVE A PACEMAKER SINCE ABOUT JUNE OF 1998 OR 1999. I HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS OFF AND ON OVER THE YEARS EVEN SINCE I HAD IT PUT IN WITH FATIQUE AND SHORTNESS OF BREATH. LAST AUGUST I HAD A PACEMAKER CHECK AND MY CARDIOLOGIST HAD SOMEONE CALL AND TELL ME TO COME DOWN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AT THE OFFICE. APPARENTLY SOMETHING SHOWED IN THE PHONE CHECK THAT WAS NOT QUITE RIGHT. I WENT AND THE TECHNICIAN FROM ST JUDE'S ADJUSTED IT.

Avatar f tn My husband has 3 jobs. I have none at the moment due to a high risk pregnancy and my doctor don't think it would be wise to have me work. But I hate that my husband is gone from 4 am to 10pm every night Monday through Friday because he working. Than comes homes eats dinner and goes to bed. I know he working and supporting me and our baby but it drives me nuts he works so much. Than on the weekends he busy fixing his car or hanging out with his friends that I get shoved to the side.

7136384 tn?1390142888 If you really need/want the job just be persistent. I called my boss constantly to see if he made a desicion! I do that with all the jobs I really want! :) shows them how interested you are!
Avatar n tn I don't think you need a pacemaker based on what you wrote above. I am not really sure what 4 X bradycardia means. If it means a 4 sec pause during sleep I am not very concerned at all, especially in an athletic young patient. Make sure that you bring your records with you, especially the holter results. Again, I would not rush to having a pacer implanted unless absolutely indicated. don't be affraid to get a second opinion.
675084 tn?1233087505 good you ask me.. my pacemaker is set to 80beats and I'm 100% depend on my pacemaker.. i have a Medtronic this my 2nd. pacemaker... my first Medtronic pacemaker i had it for 18 yrs. until the doctor turn it down than it didn't work good.. had to get a new one.. in Dec. it will be 2yrs. i had my pacemaker check last week and i find out the doctor that put my pacemaker in didn't set my pacemaker for life depend.. Good news is now my pacemaker is set for it not to be ever turn off..
Avatar f tn The pacemaker itself should not be a deterent from having an ablation. I've had a pacemaker for 6 years (because of an ablation actually), and then had another ablation about a year ago. Unfortunately, the ablations don't work for me, but I have IST, not SVT so hopefully they're more effective for that.
Avatar f tn My pacemaker battery had been dead for over a year and a half, and I just now was told that the pacemaker will have to be removed because it can damage the heart if it doesn't have a battery. Is this true? Incidentally, my pacemaker had not been activated for several years, as it was set for the minimum and didn't ever have to kick in.
