I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin. The following drugs are all i take, No more and no less. Fentanyl 50mcg. Tylenol3, Tylenol, Norflex, Ambien,Seroquel, Cymbalta, Ibuprofen and Naproxen. PLEASE HELP!!!!
i could,maybe...,understand doc scripting oxycontin for massive pain induced by trx drugs..but ,actually pain is tad more general in nature&coupled with nausea&such..i was given hydrocodone,vicodine,percoset for my own discomfort-but only while treatment was ongoing...doc's much prefer we use tylenol......
It seems anything derived from codeine is nasty. Hydrocodone and other codeine based pain relievers are more likely to produce a high from normal prescription doses, and a stronger one than what someone may get from oxy, which is why it's the number one selling and abused opiate in the USA according to what I've read. I've never tried hydrocodone, so I wouldn't know.
Took an awful long time to figure that I was SENSITIVE to morphine/codeine. After operations I went nuts with nausea and ITCHING...that dang oxygen thing up my nose!! I told them FINALLY about this that I finally had to figure out on my own and got on different anesthesia. WOW. What a difference!! Allergies imply something altogether different and one CAN develop an allergy to drugs such as morphine and THAT YOU don't want happening.
I teach anatomy and have a clinical understanding of what opiates do to the brain. For a long time your brain has quit producing the normal neurotransmitters/chemicals that send information around your nervous system. The opiates take their place so the cells stop making them. This information included things like naturally feeling good about normal everyday things. They will start making them again with time, taking care of yourself (good nutrition, extra vitamins, sleep), and encouragement.
The standard 5 panel tests looks for codeine metabolites. Hydro turns into codeine, as does darvocet and or course codeine. But, Oxy is a different animal. That's why there's a special test for Oxy. There's also a special Methadone test. The only advice I can give is to request a confirmation screen where the urine is sent off for analysis instead of the standard test strips. Also, you can request a blood test and offer to pay for it yourself if necessary.
not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...

I have a cough for 1 year to date and can't get any relief. I've seen 4 different doctors other than my Oncologist and no one can help me. I was diagnosed and treated for colon cancer in Sept 2010 and cleared in July 2011 after treatment. I developed this cough in Nov 2011 and still have it today. I've seen a Lung Dr., Gastroologist (which found that I also suffer from Acute gastritis), Family Dr., Oncologist and my allergy Dr. all to no avail.
on one side and "McNEIL" on the other, contains acetaminophen 300 mg and caffeine 15 mg, in combination with codeine phosphate 30 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cellulose, cornstarch, and magnesium stearate. This medication does not contain gluten, lactose, sodium metabisulfite, or tartrazine.
Its great that you are reaching out for support right now. I started my addiction with tylenol 3s and over time it grew to percocets and then oxycontin. Please stop before it gets this bad for you too.
Its sounds like you arent taking so much that withdrawal will be unmanageable but you will have some sickness. Best way to perdict is to think aobut what the pills do for you now. Withdrawal will be the opposite. For example you could have pain, diahrea, fatigue, depression.
I'm allergic to codeine. I'd been taking vicodin, then norco. now i'm having itching and anxiety when i take it. Any suggestions? I'm seeing my Dr. Monday..this is Friday. Thx!! I also take lyrica, trazodone (RLS), celexa, synthroid.

Thats the strongest oxy they make and its powerful. Drop by milligrams and not by pills with this situation. And oxies arent nearly as easy to quit as 60mg codeine pills(tylenol#4)....I do know. I would even suggest a change....either to oxycodone instead of the time release Contin or even another similar pain med. The time release Contin adds a new twist. Lots of people change and then quit the one that they have changed to. Do not go the methadone or sub route.
Effexor and tramadol together = massive mistake or me! I thought I was guna die! I'm glad it works or u ok tho. My depressions more severe so I'm currently off tram for a bit...til I do take it in small doses only again if I really need to.
So, with Lortabs and their tylenol content...4000+ mgs a day can be detrimental to both your kidneys and your liver? I pretty much had an idea this was the case, but for the last year or so, someone very close to me takes this much, and gets sick every time he eats. He also has extreme lower back pain at times, and the doctors at the quick care keep saying it's his back, and give him even more lortabs! Could getting sick after eating mean he as something wrong with his kidneys or liver?
Sorry to confuse - I can take the co-codamol which is 8mg of codeine phosphate and 500mg of paracetamol (side effects managable) but the 30mg of codeine phosphate with 500mg of paracetamol causes bad side effects, similarly 30mg of straight codeine phosphate causes bad side effects.
Added complication is that I also need to be able to function well enough to drive and work.
I am now off of all my meds except 1/2 of an ogen and a lipitor and doing JUST GREAT (allergy-wise) with no pressing symptoms!!! Despite being on antidepressants for the last 30 years, I am not at all depressed!!!! I feel as if I have a whole new life without drugs (which I may never have needed ). Since stopping the ceftin (for possible Lyme disease) my prolapsed colon is actually fixing itself. HALLELUJAH!!
I'm wondering if 1 oxycontin (80mg) that my BF gives me every day to assist in my wean will help me. I am having minimal WD signs but the physical pain for which I was initially prescribed 3 Dils (8mgs each) per day by the former doc comes roaring back every morning. I am no longer on the Dilaudids.
I'm glad you don't want the codeine cough syrup. Codeine is very weak compared to oxycodone and since it hasn't been that long since you were taking it the codeine probably wouldn't do a darn thing to you.
By the way, congrats on your clean time! Be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished! Keep up the good fight buddy!
i have had this cough for 2 months now and i would like to no that same question^^^^,when i cough it makes me vomit,and green and yellow flem comes out of my mouth i have been to the doctors and they have said its only hay fever or u have a lot of mucus , so they give me some tablets and the cough as not gone, i would like to what it could be and what could get rid of this cough i am really starting to worry now please some one right back
