Avatar f tn I have had constant dizziness and a feeling of being unbalanced the last 2 days. I am feeling very fatigued. I have had a feeling of flutters in my lower and upper abdomin. Nausea off and on but no vomiting. My throat feels scratchy like when catching a cold and I have a non-productive cough. I am really dizzy when sitting or standing after lying down. Breathing seems labored at times but not short of breath. I am taking omniprazole(sp). Should I be concerned about this?
581954 tn?1223391496 Is it possible for this to be a side effect from Omeprazole? And how long does it take to get out of your system? I have heard it could take 3 months and I have heard it won't take longer than a week??
Avatar f tn Eat at regular intervals as you are now doing. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks, caffeine, and spicy food. See if this helps. Also get your BP checked to see if it is not too high or too low. It can also be stress and lack of proper sleep. If it does not then you will have to consult a doctor to run tests to rule out thyroid problems, ear problems, pinched cervical spinal nerves, epilepsies, heart problems, etc.
Avatar f tn I’ve also been experiencing dizziness, spots when I blink and also floaties when my eyes are open, tiredness, weird bowel habits, acid reflux which I’m on pills for and really bad tummy cramps. I also have been getting headaches, constant sore throat and I feel like something is dripping down my throat occasionally. The doctors really aren’t being much help and I can’t work because of this and I want to be better! Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong?
Avatar n tn I'm taking omeprazole for acid reflux's. Is there a similar medicine that does not carry the dizziness label. My acid reflux's is low.
Avatar n tn If cardiac causes are ruled out then chest pain with dizziness can be due to gastric reflux. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) if these tips help you.
1461978 tn?1285892138 It does appear to be an anxiety reaction and is not uncommon, There are some things that seems to worsen it is birth control pills and menopause. I'm sure by your age it isn't menopause and don't know if you are on birth control pills but if you are that is probably the culprit and you might need to change the kind of pill you take. Also, red panax ginseng extract is said to help it.
Avatar m tn Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck. Other causes are anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems.
Avatar m tn my dr prescribed Protonix to me and I wondering how often does someone have dizziness from it and how long does it usually last? I haven't taken it yet due to that. Also I tried omeprazole otc and it gave me headaches. Does that mean I'm more likely to have side effects from Protonix?
Avatar m tn And it has to be taking about thte same time everyday. I had the dizziness and foggy head and anxiety and my dr put me on a low dose of prozac. Balanced out the meds and no more dizzy. But you just started so you have to give ur meds time to work.
Avatar f tn ve had excessive gas which I hear is normal from the air they pump in your stomach but yesterday I had the sensation of a knot in my throat and near my diaphragm and dizziness. This morning woke up with a violent case of diarrehea that woke me up after only 4 hours of sleep. Are these symptoms normal after endoscopy? I've already called my dr and waiting for a call back.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed a medication called Omeprazole which I believe is an acid reduction medicine. It worked real miracles and the problems all vanished. In the last few weeks I have since come off beta blockers after surgery and am still on Aspirin. I have stopped the omeprazole so I reckon this makes you correct in that the beta blockers must be the culprit.

Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Avatar n tn Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
Avatar n tn t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
