317787 tn?1473358451 I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.
1655526 tn?1330655629 On Omega-3 supplements, I notice a significant increase in PVCs as well as slight increase in general twitchiness or anxiety. Yeah, it's a sample size of one and I'm the only observer, but that's the way it seems to me. However, some scientists have observed problems in giving patients these supplements: http://www.examiner.
Avatar f tn The EPA / DHA come from the omega 3 so it is important to know ratios of the omega 3 / omega 6 fat oils sources and compare the actual ingredients of the supplements. Omega 3 should have the higher amount then omega 6.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
2061362 tn?1353279518 is involved in my treatment, I have to say ha has been fantastic about my supplements, even the obscure ones. He allowed me to continue my B complex, omega-3, flax seed, and Bee pollen, and allowed me to start taking vitamin E, D, and sam-E. Have to be honest here, due to brainfog I just talked to his np like 20 minutes ago about something else, and totally forgot to mention the chlorophyll to her. I will write myself a note so I remember when she calls tomorrow about my labs I had done today.
Avatar n tn I'm 19, I've recently started to take Omega-3 supplements. When i took them, after a while, it felt as if my chest and throat tightened a little, but it wasn't difficult to breathe at all. Also, when i woke up this morning it feels like something is crawling in my throat. Am I allergic? Should I keep taking these supplements?
Avatar f tn Omega 3/6/9, St Johns Wort, L Tyrosine, B, and a good multi vitamin... Now that the Physical WDs have subsided, I take 5 HTP, L Tyrosine, Mutli-Vitamin, B, Omega 3/6/9....The B and L Tyrosine helps with Energy and the 5-HTP helps with mood/anxiety/depression...Vitamins are good for overall well being... Day 19, having good/bad days, but the good days are definitely outweighing the bad... Are you going through WDs right now? For the Amino Fuel, you can try calling your GNC....
Avatar f tn What brand of Omega 3's are you using? I have been taking just the Kroger brand Omega 3's with fish oil concentrate. Should I maybe look at the health food store for some that are especially for pregnancy? Thanks!
4274823 tn?1388529098 Thanks for the list. I avoid soy and flax due to a health issue. I do eat pumpkin seeds and walnuts as well as plenty of vegetables and fruit. Interesting about papaya. Ideally I would like to get it from food rather than have to purchase an expensive supplement that I don't feel 100% comfortable with.
Avatar f tn Does anyone take fish oil (like omega 3 6 9) in addition to your prenatals?
1611944 tn?1313891994 issue that leads to autoimmune disease. So I paid $110 for a months supply of probiotic,Vit D, Omega 3 with DHL, calcium, magnesium, multivitamin. I felt good for a few days but sadly no change but I guess early days. I think all good for general health but isn't a cure.I am now looking at the discount vitamin shops to replenish my stock of supplements.
Avatar m tn But a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) claims that the use of omega-3 fatty acid supplements can improve the cognitive performance of kids who were born as preemies. Researchers from Australia's Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital found that administering over-the-counter fish oil supplements to boost omega-3 levels helped premature baby girls score better on cognitive tests at 18 months of age.
414333 tn?1226191493 I asked Dr. Gould' for his advice on taking magnesium and Omega 3 in the "Ask a Doctor" forum. He said that the Omega 3 had to be pharmaceutical grade and the magnesium had to be slow-magnesium. So, I researched it, found Slow-magnesium (which is time-released), and picked an Omega-3 that is pharmaceutical grade. (found the ratings of all of the Omega-'s at the Environmental Defense Fund's site. They checked the safety and purity of nearly every brand and rated them.
Avatar m tn It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding. Experts do agree on one thing, take omega 3 acids from foods rather than supplements. Without a doubt, having enough Omega 3 acids in your diet does improve health. DHA and EPA fatty acids are obtained from oily fish. ALA is from walnuts, soybeans, flax, Olive oil etc. The only source I know of which can supply EPA/DHA rather than fish, is egg yolks. 2 a day is supposed to be adequate.
Avatar m tn Most everyone knows or has heard about omega-3. The omega that many haven't heard about but that is very important to your health is omega-6. While omega-6 isn't bad in and of itself, what's bad about omega-6 is that Americans get too much of it. Having too much omega-6 and not enough omega-3 in your diet leads to many diseases. To avoid these diseases, you must keep these two very important essential fatty acids in balance or the right ratio.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if Omega-3 helps heart arrythmias? It worked for me, but not for my 30 yr old daughter who suffers from PVCs. They can make life hellish but for the most part are benign - but definitely a quality of life issue. I would say avoid all cardiac stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, and believe it or not - anger and sentimental thoughts can cause arrythmias. You can deliver bad hormones into your own body that stimulate your heart by having scary, or sentimental thoughts.
Avatar m tn Instead of going for supplements, try eating Fish like sardines, mackeral & salmon which are rich in Omega 3 fats & lowers LDL/Triglycerides & increases HDL. You can also eat walnuts & Flakseed. These have worked wonders for me. I had a CABG done 4 months ago and I have made sure that my HDL & LDL levels are with the required parameters.
Avatar m tn That is great Paxiled. I understand that supplements like the flax oil and Omega 3 oils can be hard to assimilate. I bet your doctor was surprised. Yes, I have read in some of my health journals that the doctors are thinking differently about some of these tests and they are starting to feel they may not be a necessary as it was thought to be in the past. Things are always changing in the good ole medical field, sort of interesting, I think. Anyway, that is good news, thanks for sharing.
Avatar f tn This question hasn't been addressed anywhere on the internet. So if you address it the you might be the first person to do so on the entire internet. I have low blood pressure and I'm not taking any measures to fix it currently. I have started taking omega 3 supplements recently and was thinking about starting turmeric supplements daily. The reason i want those supplements is to improve my academic performances.
Avatar m tn Be aware that OMEGA-3 has anti agregants effects, therefore I would not use it one week before of any intervention. In the other hand, there are studies that show better recovery if high dose of Q10 has been used before the cardiac intervention. However, going into the operation theater, I would not take anything without previously discuss it with the doctor.
