Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.

I stay away from it. I did find an article once that said its good for the heart but people with arrythmias it can make them go into life threating ones.
Avatar f tn Recent eye exam revealed moderately dry eyes (I have been having a lot of discomfort) so I have been trying out different drops. But I have also tried adding omega 3 supplement. I first tried Ocuvite 50 plus which doesn't seem to have enough omegas to make any difference. I then tried Thera tears nutrition which has large amounts and actually made a difference! .....Bad news... It also makes me itchy and gives me diarrhea! Now what?
Avatar f tn Vitamin E is found in all whole grain sources, wheat germ; and omega 3 are in nuts, fish, teas, flaxseed, and egg to name a few. Plus you get the added benefit of the fiber.

Low fat diet translates into a use of polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats and no Trans fats.
Avatar n tn I am concerned because I am on a candida diet and taking heaps of supplements, I take omega 3 (3 times a day), evening primrose (3 times a day), garlic (3 times a day) and vitamin c (2 times a day). Would this be dangerous for her? I will keep giving her formula but I would like to give her a couple of breastfeeds a day for extra nutrition.

Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.

I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow.

Avatar f tn ok im an anorexic and i am currently taking zinc, potassium, calcium , magnesium, omega 3 and vitamin c d. I am about to start taking kelp pills, and was wondering what the risk or dangers would be to me. And are there any side effects to just taking them on thier own? I am just considering the dangers before i proceed with the pills. Any advice would be brilliant and much appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am not sure of your question. Are you asking where omega 3 and omega 6 foods come from? Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.
907968 tn?1292622204 i know there has been research on this my lipid clinic told me to stay away from the farm raised salmon go for the deep water salmon or other fish because the farm raised salmon you lose alot of the omega 3.

Avatar f tn I thinks it is a good idea to take a multivitiamin, drinks lots of water, take a flaxseed oil and omega 3 fish oil supplement about 1000 mg each at least once a day. TheraTears makes a nutional supplement called TheraTears Nutrition that has a blend of vitamins and flax and fish oil.
