Hi there,
I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.
It did make me hormonal. Personally, I like nuvaring. Its a small flexible ring, you or your doctor insert it sort of like a tampon (but with your fingers) and it stays in place 3 weeks. It lessened my acne, I never gained weight, I had no hormonal issues with it. I hate pills, I can't remember to take them and they always made me gain weight. But the nuva ring is expensive if you don't have insurance! It's over 100 $ a month.
but my mom has told me im going on the depo shot, im very upset. i hard it makes you gain over 10 pounds and gives you headahcs and can even make acne worse. im also worried about having a pap smear, do you think i will have to have one for this?
What I would like to know is whether the nuva ring is more likely to cause negative emotional side effects than the pill is. I have heard mixed reviews, some people emotionally crash on it and others notice nothing; is this just something I am going to have to buckle down and test for a month? If so, how do I monitor my own side effects to decide if it is having a negative effect on me?
My wife is petite and never had children. She is post menopausal and has a serious family history of breast cancer so hormones are OUT. We haven't had sex for 7 years and I'm going nuts. I won't cheat on her and masturbation is unsatisfying. The problem isn't just dryness as lube would solve that. She's always been "snug" for me but now her vagina has shrunk up such that it is impossible for me to penetrate. Her ObGyn is no help.
I changed birth control in the last month from Nuvaring (which i believed to be the cause of my vaginal irritation) to the OrthoEvra Patch. I have been attributing my lack of sex drive to our lack of privacy, as we don't see each other often, but I'm not sure if that's just my way of masking my problems. Please help, I'm extremely distressed. Thank you.
What are your ladies thoughts on using acne products with salicylic acid? I have read mixed reviews, saying it's safe and isn't safe. I've been using it, it's in my face wash. What have you ladies been told? Or do you have any other treatment recommendations?
d have it checked out by a dermatologist. As for the acne, I have PCOS and am constantly dealing with it. I recently started using neutregenia skin id and LOVE it. Consumer reviews show that 80% of women have had positive results from it. It isn't that expensive to try either.

I know 10 people who have gotten the DepoShot and have gotten pregnant on it. Birth control works differently for different people. I have Mirena (been on it for 6 months) and I absolutely love it (despite the fact that the break through bleeding got annoying), my mood has been a lot better, I don't get a lot of acne breakouts anymore, and I have lost some weight on it. But for others, they had some complaints about it.
Hello I’m 26 years old I got off the NuvaRing about 9 months ago and since then my body has been going through a lot of weird things. I was hoping to see if anyone has gone through a similar experience?
I've really never done birth control long term but I know i really need to find something that works for me. My fiance wants to have a baby soon after the little one we have coming in February so I have to pee proactive about family planning lol. I'm nervous that it'll make me gain weight. I'm thinking I'll try the pill since I'm leary of implants and things have to put inserted by a doctor. Has anyone had experiences with the pill and the side effects?
i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?

It can be due to cystic acne. Cystic acne is the most severe form of acne. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue than the more superficial inflammation from common acne. Since they are severe, so systemic medications are usually required. The treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics, tretinoin, oral contraceptives in females and Intralesional corticosteroid injections. Very severe cases may need excision and drainage.
My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?
I had unprotected sex today. I recently started on Nuvaring and was told I needed 7 days for it to become effective. Today is the 7th day. Should I take a Plan B just in case?
I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.
