Avatar f tn Hi Jane68, I am on Amlodipine (generic Norvasc) 20mg/day for Prinzmetal's angina. My feet, ankles and lower calfs often swell, especially after I've been on my feet for any length of time, and I was warned about this by both my cardiologist and the pharmicist. I've gone up a whole shoe size and now have cankles. :) My cardiologist feels that a diuretic won't help (plus I have trouble keeping my potassium level up).
Avatar f tn I am taking Amlodipine (Norvasc) 5mg and occasionally my legs and ankles (on both legs and never the leg itself) will swell to the point that my shoes will no longer fit, but the the swelling will go down for a while (a week, two weeks perhaps) until it happens again.
Avatar n tn How do metoprolol, isosorb, and benazepril together, differ from, norvasc and lanoxin.
Avatar f tn I have had tingling in my feet and lower legs. Occasionally in my hands and lower arms. It is now almost daily. I have HBP and take norvasc and enalapril. It us under control. I have been hospitalized for a low pottasium level several times. I take an OTC pot. supplement and eat bananas. I am 48 years old and have been having night sweats, which does not seem to have any relationship with the tingling. What could this be? Thank you for your help.
Avatar f tn I was on Adallat C for 4 months with fairly good relief and at the end of 4 months and was then put on Norvasc. These were specifically for the cold hands and feet, not for high blood pressure, as mine has always been low (90/60). The Norvasc was tried for 30 days with no improvement. Nerve conduction studies ruled out nerve damage so arteriorgram of upper extremities was recommended.
483733 tn?1326798446 Hi Trudie. I had intermitten severe pain in my abdomen and severe swelling too.. My doctor told me that cysts do not hurt...adhesions and scar tissue DO HURT inside your abdomen because they pull on other organs and cvonnective tissues. . I just had severe abdominal pain (felt like a ballon)and swollen feet and hands for few days and my sister gave me wide 8" elastic /velcro belt to strap myself tight around my abdomen and my pain subsided.
Avatar n tn I take 5mg Norvasc with 100 mg of a beta blocker(Lopressor) and Isosorbide (Nitrate) and Tricor every morning without any problems. But I am confused as to why Norvasc and Cardizem. They are both calcium channel blockers. Maybe someone can enlighten me on that. Have you talked to your pharmacist about any concerns?
572651 tn?1530999357 then tonight I went to take my medicine for my angina and a light went off in my brain --- I started a new drug, Norvasc (a calcium channel blocker) for my angina in mid-June. This just so happens to coincide with when my bladder took charge. Could there be a connection? I sure think so from what I have found on the web. Several sites list incontinence as a primary side effect of Norvasc for women. These sites though are more anecdotal and not fact based.
Avatar n tn I was in the hospital about two and a half years ago for alcoholism and secondary polycythemia vera and i have been free from both since then. While in the hospital i had alot of blood tests done,Head and neck MRI,EKG's,all were normal.I did have a very swollen right ankle and foot that was a decent shade of black,It has almost returned to normal but is still very lightly swollen and a little darker than the rest of my body.Sorry for the rambling i'll get to the point.

Avatar m tn 9 170 but my blood pressure is always fine at home i do suffer from anxiety but it goes thru the roof when i see a doctor or go to the ER i am 27 years old, i have to see a doc once a week for another condition, but it never fails my pulse and BP rises very high in doctors settings, once i come home both my pulse and pressure is fine again , my worry and problem is how much damage is being done to my heart when my blood pressure spikes like this once a week?
Avatar f tn My feet hurt alot and my legs my feet are swollen and keep getting really nad cramp in my calves but i think its just normal tbh honey.
Avatar n tn I was on Norvasc but my Dr. changed to Cardizem, I have trouble swalloing and the Norvasc dissolved in my mouth quickly to make it easier to take, the Cardizem Er is a big capsule that is hard to take, should I ask my Dr to go back on Norvasc?? they both seem to work equally well....
Avatar f tn another thought it would be a good idea to reduce the tenormin to 50 mg and take 5 mg of Norvasc; and the third, suggested to gradually replace the tenormin by 5 mg Norvasc, and to be increased if needed, to 10 mg. Having read so much about Hypertension and its medications, I'm inclined towards the second opinion, i.e. 50 mg tenormin in combination with 5 mg Norvasc. However, I don't have a problem with the first opinion. My problem is with the third; I prefer to keep taking Tenormin.
Avatar n tn I also suffer from migraines as well as near migraine strength daily headaches, lightheadedness and occasionally have tingling/numbness in my hands and feet along with the migraines. I also have photophobia and sensitivity to sound at all times. I took reglan for gastroperisis from 2004 or 2005 until February 2010 and am not sure if this may have led to the eye spasms or if the ever increasing frequency and intensity of the headaches and migraines is to blame.
Avatar n tn it was discovered 10 weeks ago that i had a aneurysm on my ascending aorta 6.4 with a bicuspid aorta vavle. i had surgery 7 weeks ago st jude aorta valve dacron graft for ascending aorta. Avatar m tn Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.
Avatar f tn All this HTN began as soon as the Norvasc and Metroprolol were discontinued and the Lorsartan 100mg and Atenolol 25mg were begun...now to only have the Norvasc added back but at 5mg versus 10mg! Can the HTN be dangerous for the new liver? Very worried. Thank you!
Avatar f tn 1mg 2 x day. However, the Norvasc is not working after 12 hrs. My B/P is 150/113 12 hrs after taking the norvasc. Can I take a clonidine .1 mg along with the norvasc?
Avatar f tn Today though no swollen feet or hands and then I took a nap and when I woke up they were both swollen so Im kind of like but i didnt even work myself so my question does swollen feet and hands just come and goes whether working your self or not?
Avatar n tn It turns out that the gum swelling, fever and swollen lymph node occurred about the same time as the crown placement but were not related to it. Patient was diagnosed 4 days ago with leukemia. The bleeding from the second procedure probably came from deficiency of platelets.

Avatar f tn I own my own pair of boots which fit perfectly at the beginning of the day, but as the day goes on, after lots of skiing, my feet swell up and cause restriction of the blood supply. This causes pins and needles and pain in my toes. Last year, my big toenails went black and dropped off it was so bad, yet the boots have been fitted and fit properly and comfortably at the beginning of each holiday.
Avatar f tn Any tips or advice for swollen feet except for drinking lots of water and putting feet up?
Avatar f tn Mine started at probably 23 weeks, since I was a cashier and constantly on my feet. Im 35 weeks now and they are constantly swollen, even my hands.
