I have also been using nitroglycerin ointment for an anal fissure and am wondering if it could be connected to that. We have also started using central heating in the house again so I'm wondering if it's that. It's incredibly distracting and not even the drops are working.
My advice is keep pushing till someone with a brain understands how painful this can get. At least find a doc who can prescribe some nitroglycerin based ointment, it does wonders for temporary relief!!! If you do engage in anal penetration, I defiantly recommend waiting a good while after the surgery. My gf and I will play with small stuff, but don't risk something like that, it's just not worth it!

I have had an anal fissure for about 3 years, I have had success with nifedipine 0.2% ointment. I will use the cream and it heals the fissure 90%, I say 90% because even when I am using the nifedipine ointment I still have some pain on certain days (when I have the occasional bout of diarrhea or I have mutiple bowel movements in one day)
When I stop using the nifedipine ointment all together the fissure will come back and hurt me.

It looks like an anal fissure. An anal fissure is a split in the anal skin and it feels like being cut with glass when you have your bowels open and afterwards. In that case, take warm sitz baths, smear some painkilling gel around the area and avoid constipation. If the symptoms persist then glyceryl trinitrate ointment, Botox injections and surgery can be tried after consulting a surgeon.
The dr first had me use nitroglycerin, now I am on Diltiazem ointment. The rectocele is fairly bad. The worst part is the anal fissures and most of all the Levator/Pelvic Floor dysfunction. Supposedly the therapist is very well trained in it. This is the only area of therapy she does. I appreciate you answering me. I had to go back to work today because I have been off so long and my job is not being very understandable and I can't afford to not work since I am a single mom with 2 kids.

I have been dealing with a chronic fissure for quite some time. For anal fissure a 0.2% nitroglycerin cream can reduce the pressure in the internal anal muscle and allow the fissure to heal. Use of calcium channel blockers may help healing by reducing the pressure in the internal anal sphincter. Consult a surgeon and do keep us posted on how you are doing.

I have internal and external hemmoroids plus skin tags in addition to the fissure. I have blood with the first motion each morning because for some reason the first motion is hard. The second motion is always softer and the blood is not there or there is very little. The first motion always sets the pace for the day. My diet is good I feel but I really wish I could get the first motion softer so I could possibly allieviate this issue. Maybe you have a suggestion.

sounds a lot more like an anal fissure. Not an emergency but basically like a little tear near your anus. Just talk to the dr at your next appt about it. Sometimes they prescribe ointment or miralax to make the stools softer so the fissure has time to heal.

I'm a 37 year old male. I am on quite a lot of psychotropic medications to handle mood disorders and such.
Last October I noticed blood on the paper after a BM. This wasn't shocking as it had happened before and just went away. This time, while the blood did go away (only to come back every so often) there was a terrible pain. Really, it's almost indescribable.

My doctor told me that i have a unhealing anal fissure and that i should take more fiber and drink more water to help with this. THese have been helping a lot however I have a lot of itching. Itching is there 24/7
My doctor tested me for the pinworm exam and nothing was found and is now confused to what the itching it about. So far he has asked me to ignore it and not do anything but this is really killing me. Can you provide suggestions to what i can to do to help me?
