Avatar f tn One of the known side effects of Nexium (Esomeprazole Magnesium) is jerking muscle movements so i'd say if he isn't experiencing a side effect of the Nexium, because he's stressed and experiencing weird dreams it's probably just normal sleep induced myoclonic muscle twitches as he's going in and out of the sleep fazes. Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. Avatar f tn It mostly works for my GERD - without it it is unbearable. The problem I have is the terrible side effects. They are all gastrointestinal. I am miserable all the time. I feel like my food takes FOREVER to digest and move through my system! I feel like when I eat the food just "sits" there for such a long time. I feel constipated, but can "go" most days, though not completely. I have gained about 8 pounds, and most days I look like I'm pregnant!
Avatar f tn I started taking Pradaxa less thatn a montha ago and am taking the same dosage and noticed the same heartburn and was prescribed Nexium for it. That is one of the side effects. Avatar f tn I believe I did hear a piece on the news - a brief bit as news usually goes, that some of the PPIs can cause joint problems. Google "side effects of Nexium". I took Nexium for 5 or 6 years and each day was misery with uncontrollable diarrhea, and pain. I am almost certain that there is a connection. It has many side effects, but I no longer have my pharmacy print-out of the side effects listed. My doctor told me Prevacid would not cause severe colitis, but it did.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. I had read that diarrhea was a side effect but wasn't sure if my loose stools were from the Prilosec or another bout of whatever it is that I have. Guess it's time to do the fecal test...
Avatar n tn Sharp pains in center of my upper abdomen and right side, extreme nausea, constipation. Are these normal effects and if so, how long does it take before I start to feel better? Avatar f tn She is quite nervous about the side effects. We dont really know what to expect as I have heard different things from different doctors and nurses. I know it probably effects people differently but I am just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences that they could share with me as to what to expect?
Avatar f tn I would say that of the few side effects I get from my meds, the constipation would be the worst one. Then again I could probably do more to correct this, but I really hate high fiber foods. I may try that metamucil that xanweaner mentioned.
547002 tn?1219797376 I took/take Prevacid for 6 weeks and also have terrible side effects from it. Anxiety gone through the roof, muscle twitching in my throat, depression beyond believe. Avatar f tn Instead of coming off the the meds abruptly, think about coming off of the meds a step at a time over a period of weeks-to-months. There can be a problem with 'rebound' reflux and it can make a person miserable. So please factor that into your plan.
