645800 tn?1466860955 Well I got a call last evening from the office of the new Neuro I am going to be seeing on Thrusday. It actually was an appt reminder recording. This one will be with an associate professor at Vanderbilt University in their Neuroimmunology Department. ( this is suppose to be their premier MS clinic). The message said the appointment was at their MS Rehab Clinic. I wish I knew what they were going to do there!
Avatar f tn It was explained to me that his level of consciousness did not allow him to participate in the physical rehab. He is now at home and doing pretty well. He is more alert and moving his limbs. He can shake his head yes and know. I firmly believe he could hear and understand everything that was said around him. Going completely against the grain! .I expect him to make a complete recovery. There are miracles .
Avatar m tn First and foremost, thank you for your service to our country. I'm so sorry that it led you to injury and addiction. Welcome back home. The trend here now is not prescribing opiates due to the epidemic of opiate addiction. Many legit patients are left hanging in the breeze of w/d and pain. Many go the route that you have gone, and many die. Now I know that you didn't survive war to come back here and die anyway, right? So how long have you been on heroin?
645800 tn?1466860955 Of course while I was up at the VA I got a call at home from the VA. It was the rehab clinic calling to have me come in for a fit for crutches and training in using them before the surgey. At this rate I should should just move in to the VA as I'm spending all of my time there. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do the rehab clinic next Friday before the LP as it is scheduled for 10AM. And I sure won't be able to do it afterwards.
Avatar f tn Hey all, well i did it, little over 30 days clean and home from rehab. It feels great to be home and back in the swing of things. I am feeling and doing great and last night was the first night i actually slept, i am finally starting to feel good and its a great feeling. I have allot of work to do making amends with the hubby but over all its going great. I already visited my therapist at home and i will be seeing her 2 times a week.
1511199 tn?1292701545 I loved my rehab! I always thought that going to rehab would be THE END, something to be avoided at ALL COSTS. I was so wrong, it turned out to be exactly what I needed and it was the beginning of life, not the end. I see your from MD. There are lots of great rehabs close to you. I know several people who went to Father Martin's Ashley, which is in Havre de Grace (http://www.fathermartinsashley.com/).
572651 tn?1530999357 I actually found someone in Florida who feels that NO ONE can train their own dog and feels she is an expert on service dog training. Having rehab worked with chows for years, its a good thing there are many miles between she and I LOL. It's like the age old argument of our handicap spots and our "invisible" disease. There will always be people who frown at us and make snide remarks, feeling handicapped means someone pushing your wheelchair for you. Just my take…….
1318483 tn?1318347182 Coming to rehab was the best thing that could have happened to me. I truly am thankful for crossing paths with my new pump nurse and grateful for her swiftness in getting me in here. I have physical, occupational and speech therapy every day. This makes for a long day but very much worth it. I see improvement every single day. This hospital has the most caring, compassionate and outgoing staff I have ever seen in my life. You cannot help being optimistic here.
Avatar m tn She is about to be moved from the ICU into the general neuro ward and we have been told that soon she we will need to select a rehab facility. I have been told that a rehab facility that specializes in brain injuries would be better than a general rehab facility and have also been told that the more her loved ones can visit and spend time with her the better. That presents a dilemma for us.
Avatar n tn during his hospital stay a social worker was trying to find a rehab center or nursing home to take him, none of them would bcuz his social security check was too low and his tenncare would not pay. when he left hospital he was walking with assistance, using the bathroom and remembered some things like who we wer ect. now that he is home his behavior is bizzare and paronoid, he keeps falling and defacating everywhere.he does'nt sleep more than a few minutes.
Avatar n tn This time he is in State operated institute hospital. I talked to a case worker about a service dog for him, she said it sounded good. I don"t know what to do. I just want him home and happy. Does anyone know any foundations or anything? He has 2 more months left in the institute. All I do is cry. Thank you, good luck to all.
Avatar m tn She finally admitted that she was hooked and needed help. We got her into a rehab center to hopefully get off them, so we can save our marriage. It is just as hard on me with her not being here becasue she is my best friend and we had our routine of drinking coffee and talking about anything that we want, and it was so depressing to wake up and not see my best friend laying next to me. I was wondering what it is like in rehab.
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
559187 tn?1330782856 I am glad that I got this treated quickly no delay at all, but disheartened that the MRIs showed 2 new lesions and 2 suspicious lesions in my spine. The head neuro here says that 2 relapses in less than a year means I'll need to look for another DMD. I am currently on Copaxone and had hoped it would be do great on it, but I guess this is not an uncommon thing to happen. I have so many feelings at this point and am trying to process it all.
Avatar f tn Hey y'all, I am actually on the plane now off to rehab!!!! I am so scared of detox and leaving my family, but i know deep down inside, this is the right thing to do. I can only pray that i will get through this and come out stronger than ever and continue to seek therapy. This really has been a long dark road for me and i am ready to take charge of my life, i am going into rehab with an open mind and i am going to fight this demon with everything i got in me, and i will WIN!!!!
Avatar n tn I am scared, have been thrown out of my home and am losing both my girls. Pregant, no home and need to get back into treatment asap. My question is, does anyone know what the process would be being as I am pregnant? I have state insurance and it paid for my last treatment, but the places aren't that great. I am assuming I am going to be there for a while. Are there rehabs that you can go to if you have no insurance? Does anyone know of any really good ones?
738075 tn?1330575844 My dear old neuro (age 80) has suddenly retired from practice, as his cancer came back and really whacked him. I see him Monday to get my meds squared away for the rest of the year. Dammit! I really liked and trusted this guy! A good neuro who listens is hard to find! I have an appointment to see a new neuro on the 18th. He was recommended to me by a friend we usually have dinner with on Friday nights, who just happens to be a neuropsych. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.
293157 tn?1285873439 Hi again, just an update on how my appt went with the Neuro Opthomologist...I saw this specialist three years ago for vertigo and double vision, at that time he said it wasn't from anything he saw in my eyes... he remembered me and asked how I was and how things have changed etc. He did the tests and looked in my eyes with lights etc. I told him I do not have a Dx yet even though I deal with the MS clinic, my MRI show lesions that are consistant with MS..
1218873 tn?1300091216 I have been to see the neuro rehab team and in there summary it said my reflexes were normal. I actaully don't remember the dr doing them. They refered me to a neuro physio, who pointed out the way my right foot reacts to being scratched underneath is far from normal. I pointed out to her that the letter from the neuro rehab team was misleading and she said she could see that and something about the mediacation I was taking.
Avatar f tn After going home from the inpatient rehab center, is it necessary to follow up with visiting the the outpatient rehab center regularly or just continue at home the rehab exercise which be taught at rehab center?
293157 tn?1285873439 thanks everyone...the Dr is a MD and specialist in Rehab and other letters behind his name? I didn't see Neuro on his card though..but he works with MS clients. I'll not be discouraged I will just keep on going...
