Common Questions and Answers about Neck cancer signs

Avatar f tn if your body can sometimes kill off a cancer and make the node smaller, why would it stop? Also, compare to how an anti-cancer vaccine trains the immune cells to kill a cancer -- the body wipes out the cancer completely and rather quickly. So the behavior you describe seems much more like inflammation lessening, than cancer cells being sometimes partly killed off. "they range from 1.5 cm to 4 cm" Nodes with TB can also get quite large, but just as yours they are oval.
Avatar f tn Do your lymph nodes ALWAYS swell when cancer is present in your body or are there incidents where there are absolutely NO signs at all that you might have some type of cancer? Thank you.
Avatar f tn male gender, younger than 20 years and older than 65 years, rapid growth of nodule, symptoms of local invasion (dysphagia, neck pain, hoarseness), history of radiation to the head or neck, family history of thyroid cancer or polyposis (Gardner's syndrome).
Avatar m tn Since you do not have any other symptoms, and since you do not have a lump in your breast (in males it almost always is taken as cancer), chances of cancer are less. Hence other possibilities should be considered. A lymph node can remain swollen for months after the initial infection subsides. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
494669 tn?1275362475 The most common sign of breast cancer is a lump or thickening in the breast. Other potential signs of breast cancer include: a spontaneous clear or bloody discharge from the nipple, retraction or indentation of your nipple, a change in the size or contours of the breast, flattening or indentation of the skin over the breast or redness or pitting of the skin over your breast.

Avatar n tn I think its important to add that father died from cancer and mother is a cancer survivor and i believe aunt passed from lymphoma (not sure on that one). Would appreciate any feedback. He doesnt want to go to dr for many reasons. No insurance, scared to know, has seen both parents go thru chemo, etc. . .. .
Avatar n tn t have cancer. So if you read on the internet and see that you have the signs of cancer, testing should be done, but you probably don't have cancer. I hope that is a good enough answer.
7714453 tn?1394714282 Do any of you mommies ever read into your baby's zodiac sign and wonder what they're gonna be like? My daughter will be born a little Leo cub :) I already have my boy who is a Sagittarius, and he's so sweet snd loving and gentle hearted which falls right under the description of a sag. baby. My daughter is a Gemini just like me and she's already shown her firecracker personality early on! She's charismatic and self assured! She's a lot like me!
Avatar m tn Father had some cancer in his neck/throat, Grandfather had skin cancer 2 years ago I felt a lump in my neck, it was checked out and said to be an enlarged lymph node, it is still enlarged up to now. 3 month ago I felt another lump this time right below my ear on the jaw line, checked again and doctor said it was englarged lymph node Blood tests revealed no lymphoma About 2 months ago I felt a lump in my check near my lower jaw line.
331673 tn?1199354285 and if I touch it from the outside of my neck...pretty tender. No inflamation of lymphs...and no other symptom. When i research it...looks like throat cancer. can you please shed some light...Im really worried...thank you!
Avatar m tn Ni hao, since the spleen has gone down and the nodes are not continuing to grow, those are good signs and you can try not to worry too much. So then you probably have to just wait to see if things get worse or not. The 3d ultrasound apparently did *not* show the bad sign of "loss of the hilum" in the neck nodes, which is very good news for you. Cancer causes "loss of the hilum". So then we can instead believe that the neck nodes grew probably because on some infection.
Avatar f tn I am a 41 year old female with med hx of endomentrial cancer and just may of 09 had my ovaries removed due to cancer. Just went in for check up and my tsh level was < than 0.006. Just recently I found a lump in my neck about 3 fingers wide. Not energy, malaise, night sweats,as well as itching, with a pain in my strunum.
Avatar f tn It has been a long time since I last posted here.....had papillary thyroid cancer in 2006 - had total thyroidectomy in Aug of '06 then RAI 175mci and "clean" scan in November of "06. In July of 2007, I felt a hard lump on the left side of my neck and of course, decided to have it checked out. After scan, found three large nodes and had biopsy done...cancer wasn't gone after all....Surgery again Dec '07 - radical neck dissection.
Avatar m tn my doctor isnt prepared to do a biopsy as they are moveable and my bloods are normal. plus im not showing any other signs of cancer... what do u think???
Avatar n tn I will make an appointment with a doctor to check to be safe. One final question; what does cancer of the neck look like? Nothing on the web looks anything near what I have as my subdermal bump is hardly visibly noticeable. Then again; web pictures tend to be extreme cases. Any symptoms or signs to look for? Idea of cancer does freak me out. Thank you so much for responding.
389113 tn?1200431389 I have been "unwell" for a while, but painfully sick and getting worse since September Have had many many tests, and nothing. normal cbc. I've lost 30 pounds, though I have good days, there are more bad days. drenching night sweats, though not all of the time. almost constant chills, fatigue/weakness so severe, sometimes I can't even talk. Strange flushing of my face and neck. I suffered horribly with itchy rashes on my legs for months, but those seem to have subsided.
