29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
531684 tn?1216745984 I am one of those 'supposedly' rare cases. I used nasonex in the past years off and on. Doctors kept saying it was a rare side effect to have nose bleeds, yet I can't even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex!
Avatar n tn I have used Afrin for colds my entire life, and have *always* managed to stop using it within a week or so, avoiding the dreaded "addiction" people speak about. Will the Nasonex/Astepro help me to drop the afrin faster? Thanks for your time!
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
538745 tn?1213755988 Nope no congested nose or sinus problems at all.. I had this problem for about 4 weeks now ..and the GP I'm seeing here put me on Nasonex he said could be in my sinus since he look into my ears and they were clean. I'm 53 years old .no ringing . but hear people talk again like a echo..plus the sound of putting a sea shell up to my hear..I learn to put the tv on really loud .than doesn't bug me as much..
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar f tn I've used several bottles, or several months, of Fluticasone Propionate, which is a steroid nasal spray... I think it is the generic of Flonase. It may be that I can't tell because I am in permanent atrial fibrillation. But I haven't identified any problems other than it doesn't help reduce my nasal congestion. I just switched to Astepro, not a steroid, and it too doesn't give my congestion much relief.
Avatar f tn Singulair can be used for Allergic Rhinitis like you have, however, this is usually prescribed for someone with Asthma issues secondary to Allergic Rhinitis. What nasal steroid are you using? Most of them can be used long term.
Avatar f tn not going into the ear canal) I am thinking that I only need to give it a few more days for everything to clear up, but am looking for any other advice or things I should be watching for? Thank you. Also, if the nasonex has been working, should I expect flonase to be as effective (it is quite a bit less expensive in generic.
Avatar f tn but as of last 2 weeks i am stuffier tthn i have e ever be but now that i have used it for a few weeks i have started to get really stuffy early in the evening..so i know the rebound is starting to happen....I have noticed before i started having problems with sinus pressure that i would get a little stuffy in the evening if i sat in chair..as long as i was up and about that would not occure...but as soon as i sat in a lounge chair or laid down especially the blocking of my nose would start...
Avatar m tn I used to take allergy shots but finally got too frustrated and stopped. In the past few years during spring time for 1-2 months I used the nose spray which is a steroid. Of all medications, this is the only one that has been very helpful. Since steroids are not recommended for those with Lyme, I'm curious what allergy sufferers do about this? I figure that this is relatively low dose and should be OK, but thought I would solicit opinions. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the answer Vance and Lizzie. The tourniquet that was used to draw blood for my daughter for some chromosomal testing was having fresh blood. They used the same tourniquet which they used it for a previous patient. The person did not use a gloves and used the tourniquet on my daughters hand and since they hands are very small, and the person was tying the tourniquet and it came on to his fingers also, he did not realize it, as he was very old.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar f tn HI, Advair is used for patients with asthma or COPD which it does not sound like you have. You also need a prescription for it, so I don't think it is a good idea to take it. Nasonex is prescribed for nasal symptoms related to seasonal allergies. I don't think that this will help you either. I think you should ask your doctor about the persistent cough (perhaps it is allergy related) and see what he/she suggests. Good luck.
Avatar n tn s pollution or air quality - Negative blood and scratch tests for all but cats...we have none. Since October - Flovent for asthma has stopped his cough which was excercise induced - Also runny nose caused the coughing. Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms.
Avatar n tn Hello my son has be having constant nose bleeds for about two years now i have taken him to the doctor twice and they have subscribed nasonex when nasonex side effects were nose bleeds what should i do?
Avatar m tn I will only take methylprednisolone 16 mg twice a day for 5 days only and momethasone/nasonex (500 mcg/g) two sprays a day for 1 month. I am worrying that it may affect my hiv test result in my 6th month? can they delay antibodies to show up or something? I don't know how long will those corticosteroid will stay in my body. But as you can see it is only for short term use. I wish to be enlightened. I wish to move on and start a new life.
Avatar n tn Nasonex does have a steroid in it, but isn't quite as bad (supposedly) because it's inhaled rather than a pill. But there are no longterm studies as to how it affects one's heart rhythm, etc. My ear/nose/throat doctor told me not to use antihistamines, allergy meds like Allegra or Zyrtec, or decongestants as they all can cause heart rhythm problems. He said to only use saline nasal spray (which didn't stop my ongoing allergy and sinus problems).
Avatar m tn For HIV testing, the only immune suppression treatment that might have any effect on reliable results would require very high doses of very potent drugs, of the sort used in cancer chemotherapy and for other life-threatening conditions. And even this is theoretical only, with no reported cases (to my knowledge) that it actually happened. So all that is in response to the title of your question. Now that I have read the res, I think you'll agree I already nailed it.
Avatar n tn So i didnt end up falling asleep that night until about 6am in the morning because the ringing was bothering me so much. So I havent been taking the nasonex at all for the past 2 days.I was real nervous to take it because I didnt want the ringing to get louder. So I got a hold of my doctor on the phone and I told her how when I took the nasonex the ringing got real loud and everything. She said I dont have to take it. Just to stick with the antibiotics.
Avatar n tn i took him off the nasonex. i wasnt sure about the viral pathology but he was tested when he was little for diabetes.neg. i had already looked into rocky mountain and his symptoms dont match up.he was at the eye doctor when this all started because of the headaches. they found nothing but a little allergy reaction to something. the ear nose throat doctor was the one who put him on the nasonex, every thing else checked out with him too.
Avatar n tn my son 8 years old suffered stuffy nose which has beencontinously for weeks. 633143 tn?1262133535 For the past four years I have been suffering with near constant post nasal drip. At first it was seasonal, at its very worst this time of year (end of summer into fall), and it was semi-bearable. But now it is constant, pretty much all year round, and it’s like a faucet is constantly turned on. I can’t sleep, I always feel like gagging, and my stomach is always upset. I’ve lost 13lbs in the past few weeks just from not feeling like eating.
Avatar m tn My symptoms started a month ago when i had a fever, throat pain, coughing up yellow mucus and a runny nose, so i decided to visit my doctor which prescribed Klacid 500 mg (Clarithromycin), which i took and after a few days the runny nose stopped and my throat no longer hurt, however, i was still caughing, which a follow-up to my doctor gave me Valdocef (Cefadroxil) which i also took but the cough remained.
Avatar n tn I started feeling depressed and anxious after I started taking Nasonex. Been off it for 2 days but still feel very shaky, depressed, anxious, I can't sleep and I am very dizzy. I have suffered from depression in the past and was on meds but I am off of them. I don't know. I just need to hear other people's opinons of this. Any input is greatly appreciated.
