Nasonex for fluid in ear

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex for fluid in ear

nasonex

Avatar f tn ve tried all the home remedies to remove the fluid....ear drops, hair dryer blown at ear, heat pack on ear, popping my ears (which I tried and failed to do). I can't find anything else to try that doesn't sound ridiculous. I am open to any suggestions. The fluid is driving me nuts and I can't hear.
Avatar f tn I sometimes wake up with a tight feeling in my chest. Could this be asthma maybe? Why would I get fluid in my right ear? Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the comment. I've been using Nasonex and the Mucinex so I've got the decongestants down. I think I might go back in in a few days and see what they say. Thanks for taking out the time to read my question!
Avatar f tn think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. He also said that my right ear drum looked really dull. He thinks my issues are being caused by a sinus infection. I've been taking Nasonex and antibiotics for 11 days and am still having problems. Here is where I think it gets weird. My ear bothers me when I go outside even for just a few minutes.
Avatar f tn but I always feel some kind of pressure in the left ear. Sometimes, I also feel tightness in my left upper jaw. Apparently; the pain sometimes radiates to my eyebrows. I can clearly feel the difference in pressure during flights. Also, recently I have been biting my own cheek. No other problems as such. When I shut my mouth and nose; and try to blow air out; my left air seems to be stuffed ; but does not seem to be clearing itself.
Avatar f tn It does not sound like the antibiotic and Nasonex are working for you since you are still congested and you still have the ear/jaw pain. It is possible that you have a chronic sinusitis or you may be allergic to something (like a seasonal allergy). Either way, since you have had a failed course of antibiotics, I think you would benefit from an evaluation by an ENT. Good luck and sorry to have missed your question.
Avatar f tn God seems to have troubled you with quite a few to handle.Sorry for that. But what falls prominently in my eye,is that you have blocked sinuses which should be treated medically or surgically (using a technique called FESS).Your fluid in the ear (though I don't understand how can the pressure be normal if there was fluid in the ear.. doesn't happen that way) would require a myringotomy and grommet insertion to relieve the symptoms if they are not responding to medications.
538745 tn?1213755988 but he said Nasonex for two weeks if still there then he will make app for a ear doctor..
Avatar f tn I was then sent for a facial cat scan. This showed fluid in my sinues. I have burning in my face, pain in my ears, difficulty swallowing and am generally miserable on a daily basis. I have taken Amox, Levaquin, Avelox (antibiotics) Medrol Dosepak (steroids), Nasonex, Astepro (nose sprays), Mucinex-D and use NeilMed Nose Rinses which are the best thing I ever did. I strongly recommend it. You can buy it in any drugstore for about $12. It really helps. Today is a good day.
Avatar m tn Detection of glucose in the sample fluid has been a traditional method for detection of the presence of CSF in nasal and ear discharge. But this is not confirmatory as it can show false positivity. The beta-2 transferrin assay is the test of choice because of its high sensitivity and specificity. Also, nasal inspection by Nasal Endoscopy is mandatory. So, don't worry and discuss these options with your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn If there is Eustachian tube dysfunction from nose or sinus inflammation, fluid can remain in the middle ear which can lead to dizziness. So, therapy for this lies in treating the underlying sinusitis. If it is a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. If this fails to solve the problem, sinus surgery is usually recommended. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
29837 tn?1414534648 My allergist gave me a sample of Nasonex, which I used for about a week. Unfortunately, it did not help my symptoms and I had frequent nosebleeds. Maybe try the spray for another couple of days?

Avatar f tn I had impacted wisdom teeth in my early twenties---they were removed----could some of the fluid still be in my jaw bone---I have very tight jaws that are getting worse all the time. The ENT recommwnd sinus surgery because my sinus's are bad-----I would not want a surgery like that plus I believe there is a different problem- any information would sure help. I live in Milwaukee WI------------------414-226-0202.
Avatar f tn Hey! My throat has been irritated for about a month and the right side felt like it was a little swollen when I would swallow. I've also been having a bit of an earache, off and on, and recently started getting pain in my ear while chewing food. It was to the point this morning where I couldn't really open my mouth all the way because of my ear hurting.
Avatar f tn MY left ear, long considered useless, opened up I felt a trickle in the back of my throat. and I could suddenly hear in that ear for a while. Oregano oil is purported to be a anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti parasite herb. I have not been consistent with taking it and I feel foolish about that. The problem in my right ear began on a plane flight, I heard a crackle and my ear hurt.
Avatar f tn He prescribed Nasonex and a Z-pak. Well after taking it for a couple days I could feel a lot of fluid sloshing around in my ears that won't come out. I ended up calling the doctors office because I only had a day left of antibiotics and my ears were still bothering me. They called in a prescription for Cefuroxime. I failed to mention the blood pressure issue to my doctor. Do you think the problems I'm having could be causing my bp to be low?
1206005 tn?1265824205 i was the a week later i was booked in for audio test and they found a problem still with the right ear. i saw the docter after and told him there was no change with the right ear , still pressure , noises , and pain , he then took me to see the consaltant and he looked in my ear and thats when he then told me and the doctor the ear drum had retracted. im now waiting for the mri scan and currently sniffing the nasonex spray at night, 2 puffs into both nostrils before bed.
Avatar n tn He looked in my ears to confirm there was no wax build up and noticed that there was signs of fluid in my middle ear. He figured it was from dryness and/or allergies and got me to start saline nasal rinses and I have been doing them daily for the last 4 months now (twice daily at first). This helped especially with breathing through my nose, something that I hadn't realized was as bad as it was(to me a sign that this is something that has been bothering me for quite a while now).
Avatar m tn Today I still have had a constant ringing in my ear. It has not once gone away, even for a second. I have tried amoxicillin in case of a sinus infection, but that has done nothing, and I have also been using Nasonex daily to no avail. My first doctors visit came to the conclusion I had fluid in my ears which was causing the problem due to what they thought was ETD. but that was 5 days after the initial ringing.
Avatar m tn hi i can not hear in my right ear, have a feeling of water in my head, clicking in both ear EVERY time i swollow, and headaches that last for the day and my eyes feel lick they are too big for the sockets.I can "POP" my ear open an d hear perfectly for about a 30 sec period. I saw the end of THE DOCTORS and the person had the same symptoms and there was a surgery to open the eustation tubes with a baloon. Any idea what my problem is??
Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar f tn I'm 16, and I recently got put on amoxicillin for a really bad eat infection. When I went to the doctor, he said he saw no problems other than in my left sinuses which he assumed was the problem for my ear ache/runny nose/sore throat, etc. I've been taking nasonex, sudafed, and just today stopped taking my amoxicillin pills.
Avatar f tn I went to the hospital like 3 wks ago and they told me i had sinusitis and ear fluid in my ear! i took the medication they gave me but i still feel the same. And from all of this im getting sick from my nerves,i get very nervous!!!Recently i went to a family doctor and he said that he does see that im a little congested from my nose!So he gave me some pills for that but i still feel the pressure in my nose and throat! And i read on the pills that its for seasonal allergies!!!
Avatar m tn Soon enough I went to visit a doctor about it who took a look at my ears and told me they were perfectly fine but he gave me some xyzal and nasonex nose spray. After taking both the noise began to slowly fade away but this odd feeling in my ear has still persisted and every time I yawn I can still feel the slight uncomfortable/pain at the left side of my neck.
464496 tn?1206767842 I also have had ringing in my left ear for just over a month now. My story relates to one I just read. I had been sluggish and putting on weight and just mentally out of it for 6 months to a year... and then a week before I got health insurance my ear started ringing... my head had been having a weird sensation for a long while, particularly my left side, and it moved to a more concentrated area behind my left ear... and then started ringing...
Avatar n tn I am not sure if it is the same with everyone, but I have had PVCs and PACs for decades. I was on the 6 day pack of steroids about 3 times in my life and they never had any effect on mine. In fact, I usually felt pretty darned good the first two days. A lot of people that I know that have taken steroids said they made them feel bad, but I am an opposite. Mostly every medication makes me feel bad. These? I felt GREAT! Good luck.
Avatar m tn 100% deaf in my left ear. I had my first prednisone injection in my inner ear and started on 60 mg oral prednisone for 10 days and then step down every 3 days for the next 10 days (6/3/2/1). After my second injection on October 26, 2015, I could actually hear words - faint words, but words. I had my 3rd and final injection on November 2, 2015. I am just today finishing up my last prednisone pill.
