nasonex

Avatar n tn The pressure sensation could be due to sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal congestion, internal ear problem or due to temporal arteritis. Take steam twice a day and see if the pressure is relieved. If it is then it could be due to sinusitis. Sometimes an Eustachian tube (tube connecting ear to throat) block can cause these pressure symptoms. Try valsalva maneuver (take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth). Hope these tips help.
Avatar n tn Hi all! I'm an otherwise healthy male in my late 30's. Recently got sick about 4 days ago: stuffy nose, followed by a sore throat (when swallowing). No temperature, headache or cough. The only thing I used before seeing doc was Afrin, Advil and some Zicam. Went to the doc, and she said it was a virus. She prescribed Nasonex, Astepro, and the usual "stay away from afrin" advice.
Avatar f tn I was then given 10 days of antibiotics for sinus infection and another antibiotic for UTI. The UTI got better but the congestion stayed. I also have been using Nasonex and Advil cold and sinus and still have the congestion as well as when the antibiotics finished the next day I got really dizzy and tired/achy. I am now on anti dizzy pills but still have congestion and tried Reaction for congestion and hasn't helped.
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor to prescribe Nasonex. I know it sounds crazy, but i had ear infections with little to no cure for 10 years. This last doctor said it was a sinus infection, and sure enough, no more problems. After symptoms go away, only use as needed or you will get chest congestion. Good Luck.
Avatar n tn Hey how are you doing? Its been a couple of weeks...I haven't been on here for a while bit hanks for your replys back...my ear is still ringing a little bit it's been a month I saw the ENT specialists and he prescribed me anti-inflammatory steroid...the ringing def. Went down a little bit. Then we waited a week and then he told to take ibuprofen. Which at first I didn't think was a bad idea.
Avatar m tn For the past few years I have had problems sleeping at night due to a lack of ability to breath through my nose when I lie down. I find later on in the evening when I start to relax and am just sitting down on the couch my nasal way starts to get resticted, and when I lay down it usually closes off. When I wake up in the morning it is closed off and once I start moving around it clears up.
548980 tn?1214822412 Ive been a mess for about 5 yrs now. I suffer from constant sinus congestion, unsteadiness, dizziness, and anxiety. I recently had an allergy panel done, and it came back that I am allergic to cats and dustmites, but how come everytime I go outside within minutes to an hr I get stuffy? Are they missing something? I have constant unsteadiness (feel like I need to lean on something or im going to fall over) and I get occasional "vertigo" spells.

I got used to it. 3 weeks ago my tongue started having this burning/tingling sensation that got worse as the day went on. so my dentist put me on prednisone. after day 4 the burning went away but the tingling was constant.
Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
29837 tn?1414534648 I've had sinus problems for years. Post nasal drip for one. I'm a professional singer and it's been tormenting me for years. Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar f tn A few months ago I started using Nasonex every day because of allergies. Shortly after my heart started acting up, I was getting short bursts of tachycardia lasting no more than 30 seconds, but disconcerting never the less. That hadn't happened to me for several years, since my medications were switched. My GP told me that Nasonex wouldn't do that but I stopped using it anyway. I had an appt with my EP today and I asked about it.
Avatar f tn After getting a URI over a month ago I took Antibiotics and thought I kicked it but shortly after the course of Ab's was completed I continued to suffer from congestion, cough, increasing sinus pressure, sneezing (frequently in sets of a half dozen or more), scratchy throat, insanely clogged ears where I feel as if I'm hearing underwater and cannot pop-yawn my left ear for over 5 days now.

Avatar n tn s pollution or air quality - Negative blood and scratch tests for all but cats...we have none. Since October - Flovent for asthma has stopped his cough which was excercise induced - Also runny nose caused the coughing. Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms.
Avatar f tn At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth. After taking the antibiotics for a couple days I could feel a ton of fluid sloshing back in my ears when I would move my head side to side. It was still going on, though not as bad when I finished the antibiotics. I called the doctor back and they called me in another antibiotic prescription (Cefuroxime). Two months later, I was still having issues and I went back again.
Avatar f tn not going into the ear canal) I am thinking that I only need to give it a few more days for everything to clear up, but am looking for any other advice or things I should be watching for? Thank you. Also, if the nasonex has been working, should I expect flonase to be as effective (it is quite a bit less expensive in generic.

Avatar f tn ” With “never drainage/congestion/fever” and “never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, etc” and a borderline normal CT scan, the evidence for chronic sinusitis is scant. The American Academy of Otolaryngology (ENT) classifies sinus symptoms as follows: Major: Facial pressure, congestion, nasal obstruction, a runny nose and a reduced sense of smell. And, Minor: Headache, fever, halitosis, fatigue, dental pain, cough and ear pain.
Avatar f tn think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. He also said that my right ear drum looked really dull. He thinks my issues are being caused by a sinus infection. I've been taking Nasonex and antibiotics for 11 days and am still having problems. Here is where I think it gets weird. My ear bothers me when I go outside even for just a few minutes.
Avatar m tn hi i can not hear in my right ear, have a feeling of water in my head, clicking in both ear EVERY time i swollow, and headaches that last for the day and my eyes feel lick they are too big for the sockets.I can "POP" my ear open an d hear perfectly for about a 30 sec period. I saw the end of THE DOCTORS and the person had the same symptoms and there was a surgery to open the eustation tubes with a baloon. Any idea what my problem is??
Avatar f tn I'm 16, and I recently got put on amoxicillin for a really bad eat infection. When I went to the doctor, he said he saw no problems other than in my left sinuses which he assumed was the problem for my ear ache/runny nose/sore throat, etc. I've been taking nasonex, sudafed, and just today stopped taking my amoxicillin pills.
Avatar m tn Ear congestion - Blocked eustachian tubes. A bad head cold turned into a bad sinus and ear infection. Then, my ears got so congested it was hard to hear. I tried a variety of things. Finally, I went to the ear doctor, and she suggested an "ear popper". It is a small, handheld device which gently blows air into your nose. I guess it equalizes pressure inside and outside the eardrum or some such. After a day, my ears were clear most of the time.
Avatar f tn My main concern is the phlegm/mucous in my throat. I take nasonex and prilosec (for suspected GERD) but nothing seems to help. ANy suggestions on what this could be or what I can do?
Avatar f tn It does not sound like the antibiotic and Nasonex are working for you since you are still congested and you still have the ear/jaw pain. It is possible that you have a chronic sinusitis or you may be allergic to something (like a seasonal allergy). Either way, since you have had a failed course of antibiotics, I think you would benefit from an evaluation by an ENT. Good luck and sorry to have missed your question.
Avatar m tn m pretty sure it was to check for ear pressure. The lady stuck these ear phone like plugs into my ears that were hooked up to a machine while they were making these beeping noises and I just had to sit there and wait it out) and they told me everything seemed perfectly fine. This doctor gave me some more xyzal and prescribed to me some nasonex but I find that its not helping if doing anything at all.
