How long does it take for the tibia fracture to fully heal, and is there anything I can do to quicken the healing process on my own other than exercises and physical therapy? Thank you.

Avatar n tn A combination of the two is generally the best. As for specifics, there are so many different exercises in the naked city that target the same areas, but something that targets that area both in resistance and cardio is bicycling -- but again, you won't end up with small thighs, you'll end up with muscular ones. I've never been more muscular in my thighs than when I rode a bicycle as my only form of transportation.
Avatar n tn Please note that when I first noticed a diminished range of motion it was so minor with no pain that I didn’t even know at the time that something was wrong and figured it was just a result of losing flexibility as I aged. It is only the last 2 months or so that it has started getting worse to the point where I feel it is making everyday activities difficult. And pain is a little more present. Though I have yet to take a single aspirin or ibuprofen because of this.
Avatar m tn In April I started off suddenly with pounding back trouble, out of the blue, went to the doctor, was told it was muscular and it would sort itself out. The Doctor still thinks its muscular and the tests were done as a process of elimination.
Avatar f tn One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching. Dynamic flexibility, which is moving your muscles and joints within your full range of motion repetitively, should be performed before weightlifting because it stimulates higher neural activity and increases tissue elasticity.
Avatar m tn The more important thing is, if it is muscular, you can fix that with physical therapy, assuming the diagnosis is correct. If it's chronic, you might consider seeing an othopedic surgeon and getting some pictures taken so you know what you're dealing with. If it is muscle pain, you probably tweaked it doing something that your body just didn't like, such as abdominal exercises or lifting or twisting.
