Avatar n tn How about you try food supplements that have shown to have equal efficacy to Ritalin,Multiple vitimin with B Complex and Vit C . also Fish oil and been tried by many parents, with success, go into your local whole food store,if you have one called "Sprouts "they are very good and will go online for you to find what you need in a Natural Remedy to help you.If the drugs you have been trying dont work its time to find something less invasive that will, Good Luck.
Avatar n tn My son was diagnosed with ADHD with impulsivity at 2 years old. I started medication 2 years ago and he has been on 3mL of Quillivant for the past year. I give it at 7:45 and by 2:30 it has worn off. It has been great and so far the only side effect I have seen is a lack of appetite. At 2:30, the impulsivity starts again so the doctor prescribed him methylin 5mL and that doesn't work at all and upsets his stomach. Has anyone had s similar experience?

Avatar f tn My 11 year old son has the following symtoms after a streptosyme infection found in his blood in Nov 2008, and after taking methylin for 5 days in Dec 2008. Could this be related to dystonia and why? 1. frequent blinking 2. painful finger cramping 3. stress induced twitches in left side extremities 4. involuntary movements/jerks in left side extremities 5. muscle stiffness and jerks in left arm, hand, fingers, leg, foot, and toes when trying to relax 6.
Avatar f tn I have even been given Methylin to try and help get me reved up. Does not help either! So, I do not know what else they could possibly have in their bag of tricks for folks like us...But, I hope it is something and soon ;0 Please let me know if you come up w/ something that helps and I shall do the same. I am Thankful for all the "Up" time I have and the bit of energy to go with it.
Avatar n tn He takes stimulant medication (Methylin), and this helps quite abit, particularly with his hyperactivity. It also helps him to focus better. One of my friends has a daughter who is about the same age as our son, and she recently completed a five-week program to help her with attention and memory. The program is called Cogmed Working Memory Training. Do you think this might help our son?
4762310 tn?1362165935 The same rules apply as with the initial adjustment period, so to be fair, you should give the medication another 4-6 weeks after your dosage was increased. Many times improvements can be seen before that, but to be safe, being that everyone responds differently to medications, 4-6 weeks will ensure you've given it ample time. If after that time, you STILL aren't seeing improvements, then it's definitely time to speak with your doc and reevaluate your regimen.
Avatar f tn please let me know if the dosage i am taking i.e. 1/4 of 20 fluoxetine and 5mg olanzapine combo and 3/4 lorazepam is high or low.
Avatar n tn 83, The doctor has now increase my weekend dosage to 100mcg but I still feel this is not enough. I feel 125mcag along with 100mcg every other day would be more suitable for me. Please advise as I'm concern about about my baby.
Avatar n tn 76) I was feeling a little bit hyper on this dosage. I was nervous, not sleeping , etc. I think that I seem to do better when my TSH is a little higher. I already had 100 mg of Synthroid, so I started taking the 100's, with the knowledge of my doctor, but by day 3, I was crying, emotional, and not feeling good at all. What does this mean? Was the 100 already not enough or should I try maybe alternating the 112 and 100, or does this mean that I need to stay on the 112?
Avatar n tn If the doctor prescribed that dosage, then I would trust him/her. Zoloft is typically prescribed from 50-200mg, so your son is taking a 'normal' dosage in my opinion. I was on Zoloft a couple of years ago and had no major problems coming off of it. Just ensure when it is time to come off the medication work with your doctor and taper down slowly.
Avatar f tn Thyroid disease and what medication/dosage that works to alleviate symptoms is just as individual as you are. Barb's right when she said the healing takes time. I think you are doing the right thing, going up slowly and keeping track of how you feel, but try to relax a little, even though I know that's hard to do when you don't feel well. I wish I'd found this forum years ago, it's been very helpful.

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm newly diagnosed hypothyroid. I've been taking 25mg levothyroxine for nearly 8 weeks now but I just feel worse and worse. It's really affecting my day to day life much more than before - I'm a student nurse and am struggling to make it through my shifts on a daily basis. Thinking my dosage is wrong - how long does it take for everything to become stabilised again? Not sure how I'm gunna carry on my nurse training at the moment :-( any comments appreciated.
Avatar m tn My doctor change my dosage from 30mg oxycodone 3 times,a day to 20mg 4 times a day i filled my last script for the 30mill 15 days ago can i fill my new scipt,
Avatar m tn I am curious if there is some formula for syntroud dosage. I was on 88 mcg and my tsh has gone up from 4 to 17. He is raising my dosage from 88 to 125 and will retest later. He said it's better to raise it slowly if that's not enough. Is there any way to know how much I will need? I have hashimotos and my tsh started at 6 went to 3 with synthesis then up to 40 then back down to 4 with more synth road and now up to 17. Please don't ask for t3 or 4 I don't know it .
