My 11 year old son has the following symtoms after a streptosyme infection found in his blood in Nov 2008, and after taking methylin for 5 days in Dec 2008. Could this be related to dystonia and why?
1. frequent blinking
2. painful finger cramping
3. stress induced twitches in left side extremities
4. involuntary movements/jerks in left side extremities
5. muscle stiffness and jerks in left arm, hand, fingers, leg, foot, and toes when trying to relax

I have even been given Methylin to try and help get me reved up. Does not help either! So, I do not know what else they could possibly have in their bag of tricks for folks like us...But, I hope it is something and soon ;0
Please let me know if you come up w/ something that helps and I shall do the same. I am Thankful for all the "Up" time I have and the bit of energy to go with it.
My son was diagnosed with ADHD with impulsivity at 2 years old. I started medication 2 years ago and he has been on 3mL of Quillivant for the past year. I give it at 7:45 and by 2:30 it has worn off. It has been great and so far the only side effect I have seen is a lack of appetite. At 2:30, the impulsivity starts again so the doctor prescribed him methylin 5mL and that doesn't work at all and upsets his stomach. Has anyone had s similar experience?
He takes stimulant medication (Methylin), and this helps quite abit, particularly with his hyperactivity. It also helps him to focus better. One of my friends has a daughter who is about the same age as our son, and she recently completed a five-week program to help her with attention and memory. The program is called Cogmed Working Memory Training. Do you think this might help our son?
I must add that he was exactly the same age and he was shy and a very respectful boy. What med is she taking? If I remember, I think it was the med concerta that had caused the problems. Every child is different and reacts different to the stimulant medications.
Just to let you know, the doctor may not think this is the problem and up the dose. But, when our doctor uped the dose for my son, the tic or chewing got worse. So, maybe trying a different med may be the answer.

I think there might be a little confusion (well it could just be my confusion lol), depression isn't the only issue associated with fatigue. So i surmise that if your fatigue is caused by a medical condition, for instance MS, thyroid, hormonal imbalance, autonomic dysfunction, hypoglycemia, diabetes, chronic pain etc. then drugs that target emotion are likely to not be on much help, if the fatigue you've got is not due to depression.
I have a 7 year old son that was diagnosed ADHD over a year ago. He has been on meds since he was diagnosed. While the meds seem to help his focus they have not helped with his chewing on any and everything he can. I have taken him back to the Dr. and she switched his meds, still didn't help. He started biting holes in his shirt collar and sleeves. Now he also chews on the WII controller, PSP games and charger, and the Xbox controller. I am at my wits end.

Of these, Free T3 is the most important because Free T3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. (note that Free T3 and T4 are not the same as Total T3 and T4).
From just looking at your lab results in light of my experience, I see nothing there to be alarmed about. Your Free T3 is above the midpoint of its range and Free T4 is also within range, though it is in the lower quarter of the range.

I read online that your cervix is very sensitive during pregnancy and its possible my bf irritated, or (to be blunt) went too deep and made me bleed. Like I said, there was no pain or cramps or anything of that nature. I didnt even know I was bleeding. It wasnt alot, but it wasnt a little. Has anybody else had this problem, should I be worried?
Congrats on your pregnancy and tapering down on the pills. When you see your OB make sure you tell them everything you have done. They will be able to set your mind at ease. You quit early in your pregnancy and that is a good thing. As long as you stay off the drugs your baby wont be born with wd's. Have you thought about talking to someone about this? There is always a reason why we use.
just some info guys this is very common in 1st and 3rd and fourth trimesters. im 25w with #3 and 2 girls and finally now a boy and has been same for all 3 first trimester i didnt want to be touched at all i felt real sick all the time etc 2nd trimester with all 3 picked up a little bit and when i wanted sex i really wanted it. lol 3rd and 4th trimester with 1st 2 kids wasnt interested at all.
