Common Questions and Answers about Mental flexibility test

flexibility

Avatar f tn Pump therapy also enables the pump wearer to have more flexibility in what they can eat and also when they eat. The pump makes it easier to live life without limits and if you don't want to eat you don't have to eat. I love my pump and would recommend it to anyone as long as they were ready and wanted the responsibility of having a piece of hardware with them at all times. Even while they are sleeping.
Avatar m tn Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving. I'm thinking it's more than just bad flexibility - wondering if I'm not really neurologically talking to my lower leg?
Avatar m tn I have made it through most of the physical sx and probably think I have managed the mental side as well. I am a lot more intense and quick to anger; sometimes I feel like I have a permanent scowl on my face. It is all about to be really tested. My current job has allowed me some flexibility during tx; corporate was not even aware I was treating; only a couple of people on my project; since I am the boss, I was able to mask it (I think).
Avatar f tn They want me to do an angio but I cannot tolerate radiation and am hyper sensitive to dyes/tracers..so have requested an echo excercise test. Is the above statement referring to an artery problem? Is it anything to worry about?Do I need an angio or can an echo excercise test see whats going on?very confused...any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar n tn Hello Kristin, My sister & I are also a long-timers. She's had DM about 45 years and I've had it about 35 years. Your observation about your identity being wrapped up in having DM is quite profound, indeed. I've often thought about what I'd do with the mental & emotional energy if I didn't need to be doing so much "mental math." I don't know the answer, really ...
Avatar f tn Yoga has been shown to be very useful for flexibility and spasticity. The mental aspect of yoga meditation is also shown to help with our mental health and cardiovascular system. Yoga, if I am remembering correctly, is the #1 recommended form of exercise for MSers. It is a great form of exercise and although it won't return you physically to where you were before, it iis definitely helping you in many ways.
Avatar m tn I WENT BACK TO ANOTHER CLINIC 28DAYS LATER BEACUSE I WAS HAVING BURNING SENSATION ALL OVER MY BODY AND DID THE TEST AGAIN STILL THE RESULT WAS NEGATIVE BUT THEY GAVE ME DOXYCYCLINE TO TAKE 2 EACH DAY FOR SEVEN DAYS. WHEN I FINISHED THE DOSE, I NOTICED I AM HAVING PAINS UNDER MY ARMPIT AND GROIN AREA. IS THIS A SYMPTOM OF HIV OR ANY OTHER STDS. i DID THE TEST 52DAYS LATER IT STILL CAME BACK NEGATIVE.
Avatar m tn I went to a neuromuscular specialist who carried out a neurological examination, EMG and brain scan. All were normal. He suggested it would just go away and that it could be mental which offended me. He reassured me that it wasn't ALS but i don't believe him as i know ALs can take years to identify and is a very difficult illness to diagnose. I saw him again and her carried out a creatine kinase test. This revealed a ck level of 2000.
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar f tn We MSers can regain physical conditioning with exercise, we can regain mental conditioning with puzzles and brain teasers, but when we loose our flexibility, it's almost impossible to regain! Stretch, stretch, stretch!
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar n tn htm To me, the basic difference is variability and flexibility. With Lantus, you know exactly what you are dosing, and you also dose exactly the amount of fast acting you need. With 70/30 there is a lot extra to take into account. I personally don't know many, if any, people who are still using mixed insulin, except in poorer countries where they can't get anything else.
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.

Avatar n tn I had one night with nausea and a cold sweat, then one time feeling winded after climbing the stairs. This is my second time around and I actually recognised those symptoms from last time! No morning sickness for me, thankfully - friends of mine aren't so lucky, I enjoy that fact quietly to myself ;) There's tons of advice I could give but the big ticket item is YOGA. So good.
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar f tn I'm due tomorrow and been in hospital on 24hr watch for high blood pressure. Dr says so far ask test are fine. And doesn't seem to wanna induce but yet I'm still here.
