My question really is about memory loss. I am only 24 years and I feel like I am too young to be experiencing this kind of memory loss; I don't know what you want to call it but I just think maybe it's getting worse?
I always had a little hard time remembering things but recently I think it has reached a level now where it is impacting me and my surrondings. Less than a week ago, I lost my iphone, (or so I thought) when going at the post office.
I am a year and half post tx and I am experiencing memory loss, processing information (use to have a wonderful sense of direction) and just not myself. I have a very hectic job and I feel there are times I cannot keep up--and yes
my confidence has diminished...anyone out there feel the same way...???
Hi there. You have short term memory loss and you are young. The causes for this loss of memory could be many like lack of sleep, hurried up routine, psychogenic memory loss after a stressful and life threatening event, vitamin B1 deficiency, certain drug abuse like PCP, LSD and cocaine. Some prescription drugs can also be the culprit like barbiturates, tricyclic anti depressants etc. brain infections like encephalitis and head trauma are other rare causes.
It indicated that half of people undergoing bypass surgery developed memory or thinking problems in the days following it, and that these problems were usually still evident five years later.

Even perfectly healthy people with excellent memories will look high and low for their car keys only to find them in their hands while stoned. I thought you were a total health nut? Deeply inhaling burned vegetable matter (carcinogenic smoke), epsecially on a regular basis, is not good for your liver or your brain. I'd go cold turkey and see if things get better. Best of luck...

you might need to forget some of your most valuable memories to be able to regain your short term memory... Thats how computers work... when my computer starts running out of memory it gets a case of short term memory loss on a monthly basis!
Dealing with her dad leaving the home, living in a womens center and now having a new father figure. Depression also runs in the family. In 2007 he had a hip replacement done and ended up having 3 operations within one week because of complications. My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. Are you taking any meds, have you had a trauma recently anything happen to really upset you,any toxins ingested, all the things I mention can have an effect on short term memory. temporarily, As you are so young it would be good to check it out with your Doctor. Make some notes of how often it happens and what you were doing when it happened. Let us know how you are doing .
It is true there can be short-term confusion, memory loss, and poorer problem solving and information processing are common after bypass surgery, but are usually temporary and reversible. Most people return to their pre-bypass level of function between 3 and 12 weeks after surgery
Not every one is affected subsequent to a bypass, and if your son is affected it can be termporary. Your son is young and may have the physiological resillence better than the older individuals.
I am 28 yrs old. I have IC. I have been having recent short term memory loss. I do not use drugs nor have I had any trauma. What might be the cause of this. I am not having any other symptoms of anything but not able to remember things of short term unless they are significant. I can't remember things that I even did yesterday. worst part is that I do not have insurance to get to a doctor to have tests ran to receive help that I might need to help find out what I have going on.
