Common Questions and Answers about Marinol medicine

marinol

People are confused, as I was until today, regarding Medicinal Marijuana laws. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and got my prescription and letter for Medicinal Marijuana from my doctor. Here in Nevada, you can grow your own once you pay $200 to the Dept. Of Agriculture for your "card". The question was: Can you go to another state where they have Medicinal Marijuana dispensaries and get Medicinal Marijuana if your state has no dispensaries?
I have always wondered about the medicinal use of marijuana and chronic pain. When I used it many years ago I was not in pain! HAHA. What do you all think of its use. Thanks! Marcie!
He's on procrit, neupogen, 1/2 dose of pegasus, marinol, promethizine, lortab, and prozac. I think I remembered all of it. Anyway, the question is about AHCC, my sister in law wants me to get this stuff. Has anyone tried it? Is it worth getting? Thanks!
You can also give him nutrition supplements. If there is still no improvement then medicines like megestrol (i.e., Megace) and dronabinol (i.e., Marinol) can be taken. For that a prescription and consultation of a doctor are mandatory. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your son is doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
I have been treated for Chronic pain post Cancers and therapies, and I am very tolerant to any Opiates. I would like to try using Marinol (synthetic THC) for pain; it helped my pain as well as my nausea when I went through my Stem-cell Transplant. I am in Athens, GA; does anyone know of a doctor willing to prescribe this medicine for pain (when you have not been diagnosed with a cancer...yet?
I am actually thinking of moving out of Utah, and resorting to using cannabis (medicinal marijuana) if I can get it prescribed to me. This came to mind when my state mental health rehabilitation counselor said to me yesterday (before my doctor's appointment" that medical marijuana actually helped people, especially those diagnosed with ADHD like me, AND autistic children. I even remember reading this last month: http://www.neontommy.
I have read many articles online that many people nationwide with TN find releif from cannabis wether it's Marinol or smoking. I live in Connecticut and obviously it's illegal. But my question is more based on the Neurontin and cannabis combination. I've read it's ok but will make you veer drowsy. Honestly I'd rather be drowsy off that than a highly addictive opiate. Please can I have your thoughts.
Store this medicine at room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees, away from heat or light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees is permitted. But it doesn't say what "brief" means to them. Best to you in the outcome.
With Lots of other problems with eating and I was put on MARINOL and it has helped me eat I was 120lb.woman went to a 98lb.woman and the marinol helping me eat 103lb.
I don't think your husband's worries have any basis in science as neither medicine currently being used (peg/riba) has been shown to be carcinogenic. If you smoke 2 packs a day your risk for lung cancer increases manyfold. If he was 32 y.o. and started at, say age 16, that would be equivalent of someone smoking 1 pack a day for 32 years. And probably worse, since the injury is higher for someone who smokes 2 packs a day.
The problem with nausea meds like zofran, and pills like marinol, is that during cancer chemo the nausea can be so bad that the patient cannot tolerate oral meds. I tried prescription nausea meds but they were horribly expensive and not particularly effective, even when I could hold them down.
For example, I was feeling really crummy this morning - fatigued, my back ached, and I could feel a little of the back myoclonus coming back. After I had taken my medicine (!) I had more energy, was able to actually sit up, and could think about stuff I had to do that day. How does one measure that? Is it psychosomatic? I just don't know. I wouldn't recommend it for anybody, because the federal government has laws against possession and distribution.
I didnt think that they used medical marijuana her in Ga.You dont smoke it-it comes in a pill called marinol!!!!!I have a friend who is fighting breast cancer and she smokes it-she said it helps with her syptoms!!!!I took 2 tokes of of hers one day and boy oh boy!!!!!Not for me!!I dont see what I ever saw in that stuff years ago!!!!! Anyway my scans are looking good so far. They did find another spot on my hip in which they did 10 more rounds of radiation.
Synthetic drugs which bind to the same receptors as THC. These drugs constitute the few Schedule I drugs on the market and Marinol is one example. These drugs are very potent and are almost exclusively reserved for cancer patients and persons suffering from AIDS. I wouldn't want to draw to many conclusions from your post but I would urge you to consider whether THC is medicinal or utopian?
one being that some studies have suggested marijuana accelerates liver fibrosis. We pay our doctors to practice evidence based medicine; ask him why he opposes it, and perhaps it’ll make sense. And yes, I imagine if a doctor feels his patient is not being compliant with doctor’s orders, he could probably deny treatment drugs. Even in states that allow medical marijuana use, other issues arise.

Flare-ups of pre-existing >auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis >and Crohn's Disease are common. Marijuana can mitigate the majority >of these side effects as well as offering effective help to those >patients where alpha-interferon treatment is not indicated.
Some have said they couldnt get through without it. There is a medicine called Marinol. My son has had CF his entire life. Hes 19 and weighs about 100 lbs. He was recently been prescribed Marinol. His weight has steadily increased since he started the drug. Yes it is made from marijuana. It is expensive but I know it works. Ive never seen him eat 4 meals a day, until now. God, that looks good. If you can get your weight up to a tolerable level the sx isnt as bad. Its still bad but better bad.
Almost everyday I am very nausiated which is preventing me to eat very much without forcing it down.My trial nurse has given me two different medicines to help with the nausea. But they don`t work.I have read marijuana does work, and would help me eat again.I just don`t know if I would get kicked out of the trial if they discovered thc in my blood. Also I am not sure if it would harm my liver in any way or interfer with the interferon and riba and the trial drug.

i use it recreationally and medicinally to this day and it provides me with an alternative relief from a number of different ailments that traditionally prescribed pharmaceutical treaments proved to be ineffective for or dibilitating in some fashion.
AND NEW TO ME I ALSO STARTED, AROCKING MOTION ALSO. I TAKE #5 XANAX. IT WORKS AND SOMETIMES, I TAKE INSTEAD MARINOL 10 MLG. TAKE WORKS ALSO. GOOD LUCK TO YOU HOPE THEY GO AWAY. MINE NEVER DID.
I too was diagnosed with Sluders by having a lidocaine-soaked pledget applied between the contact point. I have a deviated septum with a spur, and the spur is in constant contact with the turbinate (and nerve bundle) on the opposite side. So I am in pain almost all of the time. I am making my appt. for surgery this week and am hoping that this cures my horrendous facial pain. This is no way to live.
When I was thinking about tx and doing some research, I found this Forum, and heard about people eating ice cream with their last dose of the evening, and I thought, cool, I get to eat ice cream on a daily basis for medicinal purposes -- how great is that? I think in 5 weeks I've only had it about 3-4 times because I'm craving salt...lol And since I'm not much of a junk foodie, i.e., chips, cheetos, fritos, etc., I have gotten the same satisfaction from black olives, crackers, soups...
I know this isn't available for everyone but medicinal cannabis does work, for nausea, headaches, and appetite.
David Ostrow, MD, PhD, president of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine and a former psychiatrist specializing in addiction medicine in Illinois, said that he considers the number of eligible conditions listed "very restrictive." Dr. Ostrow, who was not involved in the press conference, told Medscape Medical News that the proposed allowable amount of cannabis is reasonable. "Some people need a lot of marijuana to ease their symptoms," he said. Dr.
In the future, it would help if you posted your questions on your old post so that I can remember your story. All medicines have side effects so you have to weigh the benefits with the risks. Besides Zofran, there is Tigan, Compazine, Reglan, and Marinol. Also, that is not the entire list. Ginger is natural and that also might help. Are you just not hungry or are you nauseous too? Also, stress will increase your nausea and just from your post I can tell that you are very stressed.
Hope you are ok today. I wanted to comment on Marinol. My Mother was given Marinol and for her it was awful. Far too strong even with small doses and it didn't work. That isn't to say that will happen to you but if you have other choices, maybe start there. For me just having to chew stuff up is a challenge at times which is why the smoothies work so good. ANother thing I remembered is instant breakfast, it has a lot of calories too and comes in flavors.

Unfortunately many people are given addictive medications with no choices, in most states, for alternative medicinal treatments and many other people are either not open minded about the subject or not concerned.
