1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar m tn Hey oez, I have done a TON of research on PAWS, and it effects people very differently. I was also taking Lunesta, and stop that at the same time. (Lunesta was something a took only a few nights a week. From what I understand, PAWS effects everyone differently, and the quitting CT, drastically increases the chance of getting PAWS. I did quit cold turkey. What are your symptoms? I keep getting bouts nausea, and my legs feel so weird. (like pins and needles) Also, horrible legs cramps.
Avatar n tn About a year ago, I went to a psycharist for generalized anxiety disorder and was started on Lexapro ( 10mg) Unfortunately, one of the major side effects is insomnia, which just componded my sleeping issure. The Lexapro help greatly in the diminishing the GAD but I just could not exist with 45 minutes of sleep a night. I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective.
Avatar f tn To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?
Avatar n tn Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks.
Avatar n tn I took Ambien (still do) and while it didn't give me a full nights sleep an hour after I took it I could put my head on the pillow and zonk right out (and I was on TONS of ribavirin my serum level was extremely high). I seemed like most people to wake up after about 4 hours (even on the CR Ambien time release) but I could fall back asleep again. And again. And again. So I got some sleep. It did help.
Avatar n tn That's "moo Juice," as in milk. Dang spil chucker.......
1580703 tn?1651904887 Clonazepam is known to cause drowsiness and lack of muscle coordination as side effect. There are some rare effects also like uncontrolled body movement and twitching which can be distressful. this is a anti anxiety/anti convulsant of benzodiazepine group and your doctor prescribed you once he deemed that the beneficial effect dominates the anticipated and possible side effects.
Avatar f tn If I had known that this medicine would have such an adverse effect on me I never would have taken it. My doctor never told me of the possible side effects and prescribed me more. When I had clear side effects, of the Ambien CR, my doctor didn't even know it. I'm not passing the blame to her because I should have paid more attention to what was going into my body. I wish that I had done more research on sleep aids before I thought of taking it.
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
Avatar f tn Has anybody tried the medication Restoril for treating insomnia? I'm interested in hearing people's opinions of it. Any adverse side effects? Issues with tolerance/dependence/withdrawal? Thanks!
Avatar m tn She begain having the meriad of side effects, discribed by the many others who have stopped taking Effexor XR. Needless to say, she was never told to be aware of these horrendous side effects, She made an appointment to see her doctor, which she then explained the side effects she was experiencing. The main one? you can probably guess, the brain zaps!!! He said he had not heard of this symptom before but, that he would research it. At her next appt.
Avatar n tn It probably depends entirely on why you are getting it. Some things, like withdrawal of hormones during menopause, can be treated, others might not be so treatable. You should check with the appropriate doctor based on why you're getting the problem. Here is from Wikipedia: Causes of formication include normal states such as onset of menopause (i.e. hormone withdrawal). Other causes are medical conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, skin cancer, syphilis, Lyme disease or herpes zoster.
Avatar f tn d the rozarem along with the lunesta (this was my sub doctor - said it was perfectly safe and I had no bad effects from it). I actually liked the rozarem. I dont know if youve ever seen the "It brings your dreams back" commercials, but it REALLY DID bring my dreams back. I got such a kick out of that. I dreampt every night. (I no longer ever dream). I stopped getting it though as it was not covered under my insurance and couldnt afford it.
Avatar f tn Do these side effects eventually go away if you take Soboxin (sp), and then eventually no SOboxin? If a person works out and takes vitamins will this assist in getting this awful drug out of the system?
Avatar f tn When I went through vicodin withdrawal I upped the dosage to 10mg, which was my script max. I have had withdrawal symptoms galore. I got body jerks, metallic taste, no memory, disorientation, depression, anxiety, difficulty swallowing, breathing difficulty, panic attacks, vertigo, high to low BP... on and on. My dreams were vivid. The very slow taper and OTC drugs helped with the insomnia. Are you back on Lunesta?
Avatar f tn ve got a good link (if I can find it) on what happens if you treat the seratonin side stronger then the norepinephrine side and the effects. Got a feeling that this may be what is going on with you. Did you always have trouble sleeping and anxiety - or did it get worse with the different meds?
Avatar f tn When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.
Avatar m tn There was some talk about sleep aids in a recent post. I am not sure how many of you are familiar with, or are looking for a non habit forming sleep aid. My doctor put me on a drug called Trazadone when I was going through Sub W/D's. It is actually an anti depressant and one of the side effects is it knocks you out. So it is a tremendous sleep aid, especially when you are suffering from chronic RLS and other annoying side effects of withdrawals.
Avatar m tn I was for 4 months at 5mg of zoplicon every night im right now and my 9 day doctor give me some lorazepam to take when i need to help with widrawal or side effects of zoplicon the lorazepam is only 1mg but I'm just affreid to take this drug to
Avatar f tn This past week, I decided to try cutting cold turkey and let me say the side effects a horrible... MAJOR Anxiety, blurry vision, sweating, muscle tremors. I thought I was going to die, went to the doctor, and he did tests that came back perfect. So the withdrawal from ambien is very real and very scary It was THE WORST and its looks like maybe a week of suffering and then you begin to feel better day by day.
