Avatar f tn But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason. Women in particular can have lower left jaw pain during a heart attack. Now, I know this isn't presenting exactly that way for you but still is worth checking out. If you have any other symptoms with it like shortness of breath or chest discomfort, please go to the ER. The one thing that I think is fairly common is nerve compression called Trigeminal neuralgia. This is a big reason we get jaw pain.

Avatar f tn "Jaw" pain can be a symptom of a heart attack in women, but your pain is constant and under your chin which isn't the jaw. Symptoms of a heart attack in women is jaw pain, nausea, severe fatigue and sweating, but we can also have chest pain, arm pain and numbness. Have you had heart problems in the past? If this really concerns you then it's best to go to the ER.
Avatar m tn TemperoMandibularJoint disease can be brought on by repetitive movement of the lower jaw, which can cause lots of pain. You could also have a blocked salivary gland known as siladentits, which causes jaw pain. I would recommend seeing an MD if you have not done so already. Both of the issues I mentioned can be treated with medicine. IF it's siladenitis, it will require an antibiotic to treat. If it's just TMJ, it can be treated with anti-inflammatory medication.
Avatar f tn it could be something not as sinister, in a heart attack there is chest pain, lower jaw pain, dizziness, pain radiating down the armmainly left side, sometimes with heart disease there is a mucasey cough that lasts for months, are you healthy? have you checked your cholesterol? and bp?

659608 tn?1318289366 I have been reading that women may have that kind of symptom before a heart attack. I had Rheumatic fever as a young child, and have never been told I had any heart damage. I have heart attacks in my family, my brother has had several bypass surgeries, and has a difibullar in place, and his heart is working at 20%. Is there a possibility this could be heart related, or is there some other cause? I would appreciate comments from anyone who has had this or knows someone who has.

Avatar f tn jaw pain has nothing to do with gallbladder,,,heart issues caould cause the center epigastric pain,,,and the jaw pain.
Avatar f tn if you arent happy with the answers you need to go back to your doctor, heart failure can be treated and needs treating signs of it are swelling of the ankles and breathlessness, it will eventually cause death this is quite serious condition, go straight back to your doctor, as pain in the jaw is a sign of a heart attack, if you have had a heart attack you will need an angiogram to see if there is damage or blockages and may need a stent.
Avatar n tn An hour is rather a long time for the heart to decide to have an attack after eating. Generally it would happen within 15 minutes of eating. As already stated, it is worth having your vital signs checked but maybe it would be worth eating something before you go to your emergency. I say this because if you go there with no discomfort, you can bet your bottom dollar nothing will be detected.
Avatar m tn Need more information. First, how recent was the heart attack? How long until you managed to reach a hospital? What treatment did you receive? did they do angioplasty or anything?
Avatar n tn The symptoms you describe are typical for a heart attack in a woman. Woman will normally feel pain n the back rather the chest and mostly radiating to the jaw. The fact that it only lasted 15 mins is a good sign, but given the nature of your pain along with the timing, 4 am to 9 am is the most common time for a heart attack, I would be getting checked out.
Avatar f tn I'm 44, female. I have two heart problems. One is the prolapsed anterior mitral valve which I did the echo-test in 2001. Unfortunately couple days ago, only 10-15 minutes after start in my body combat class, like a heart attack, I fainted, heart pain and severe jaw pain but I didn't collapse. I took a break nearly 30 minutes my heart was getting better and less jaw pain. Actually it was happened to me several times during the tennis course. So I did CT scan test.
Avatar n tn I have experienced chest and back pain recently (for about 4 weeks). Chest pain located in left lower side and back pain located between shoulder blades. Sharp pain lasts only a few seconds to a few minutes. The pain comes and goes. I went to my doctor who did an EKG and chest X-ray. The EKG was normal, as was my blood pressure. I have not heard back about the chest x-rays, but my doctor said she would call me if there were any issues. No call yet (it's been 2 weeks).
Avatar f tn Sometimes I have body aches that make me feel like I have the flu. I also have a dull pain in my left jaw and sometimes pain radiating down my neck. My doctor has run several tests including thyroid function, glucose, and some neurological studies. Everything comes back perfect, but I still feel bad. Could this be a heart condition? Should I be more pro-active by seeking out a cardiologist on my own? There is a lot of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease in my family.
