Avatar f tn Sometimes I have body aches that make me feel like I have the flu. I also have a dull pain in my left jaw and sometimes pain radiating down my neck. My doctor has run several tests including thyroid function, glucose, and some neurological studies. Everything comes back perfect, but I still feel bad. Could this be a heart condition? Should I be more pro-active by seeking out a cardiologist on my own? There is a lot of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease in my family.
994817 tn?1249741878 Ken- that's what I was told by a cardiac nurse, that a heart attack results in heart damage. Plain symptoms on their own do not constitute a full blown heart attack, more like angina. Of course that's nothing to ignore either.
Avatar m tn A few moments later, the area around my left carotid started to hurt, and following that a numbness traced up along my the left side of my face and mouth along my jaw. The symptoms are all those of a heart attack, but I'm doubting that the case because they haven't ever gone away nor have they worsened. What exactly is this, and how severe is it? Is it maybe just a pinched nerve aggravated by this morning's spinal manipulation?

One Nurse watched the monitor while the technician did the scanning. They increased the drugs until I felt the symptoms and voila, the problem showed on the scan. As soon as the images were taken, the drug was stopped and within 2 mins my heart was back to normal rate again.
Avatar m tn These feel just like the chest pains I had with my heart attacks, but this last time it wasn't a heart attack. Avatar f tn Because females can have jaw pain when there is a heart attack even. So, please get your heart checked out. Also, ask about a doppler study to make sure your carotid arteries in your neck are patent, without blockage. Next, why did you get the splint made? Do you grind, clench, or have arthritis evidenced in jaw joint x-raying? TMJ dysfunction can lead to migraine pain. I personally clench at night and have osteoarthritis in my joints and a hard, flat-planed splint does help me.

Avatar f tn What could cause chest pain that has the symptoms of a possible heart attack but isn't that? Ten years ago, when I was 38, I was teaching a class when I got excruciating, constricting chest pain. My left arm tingles, and my jaw had the same terrible pain and it felt "locked up." The "attack" lasted 5-10 minutes. My jaw hurt for days, and my chest and ribs felt sore, as well. When this happened, a coworker took my pulse and it wasn't even fast.

Avatar n tn Pain that starts along my jaw bone and spreads quickly to my chest (Like a really bad case of heartburn) where I have trouble taking deep breaths without pain. I break out in a sweat and feel panicy. It only lasts for a short time but it is starting to worry me. I also have occasional left upper arm pain. Does this sound like heart attack symptoms?
Avatar n tn The symptoms you describe are typical for a heart attack in a woman. Woman will normally feel pain n the back rather the chest and mostly radiating to the jaw. The fact that it only lasted 15 mins is a good sign, but given the nature of your pain along with the timing, 4 am to 9 am is the most common time for a heart attack, I would be getting checked out.
Avatar m tn jaw and face discomfort I think that my jaw and chest pains are caused by gas because one time I was walking in town and I felt like I had to burp. and when i did i felt i weird pain in my jaw and chest. I have had anxiety problems in the past such as When i was in school assembly i had a massive panic attack because i thought i needed to pee. i freaked out and left the assembly and as soon as i left i felt fine.
Avatar n tn Dear jptr, Sorry to hear about your chest pain. A heart attack is the result of damage to the heart muscle. One is not able to tell whether or not a heart attack has taken place unless they are evaluated by a physician with blood tests and electrocardiography (ECG). It is impossible to know if you had a heart attack based on this description. You should see a doctor immediately. I would not recommend using this forum to answer questions regarding an acute situation.
Avatar m tn Chest pain Arm pain Back pain in the center/upper left shoulder blade Pain in the jaw-line Fullness in the chest (almost like a short period of asthma) I also notice that sometimes I get very hot, to the point that I am sweating... all while in a very air-conditioned apartment with 2 fans on me. Sometimes I start to get dizzy, as if the room spins for a split second. I have also gotten a "lump in the throat" sort of feeling.
