Loestrin irregular bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin irregular bleeding

loestrin

Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
Avatar n tn I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Did u have irregular bleeding before starting birth control? Any bleeding in between periods?
Avatar f tn I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for 10 months, and had to stop for 6 weeks because I had surgery and was required to take blood thinners. I got back on my birth control, and ended up not having a period at all. Usually I have light bleeding for 2 days on my pills, and I'm concerned I could be pregnant. My partner and I used condoms while I was off the pill, but I know accidents happen.
Avatar n tn About 2 years ago I started taking LoEstrin for my pill and that has made my period regular since then. I get it at the same time every month and for 4 days.
Avatar f tn I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly? Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for about 6 months now. I started it last October but switched due to getting my period twice a month. The pill I switched to, made me non stop bleed and was so much worse so I switched back. Now it’s been 6 months taking it and I started out bleeding twice a month (spotting) & was very irregular. Now in the 6th month I am 10 days late for my “period”.
Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar f tn Me and my fiance are trying to make a baby. My cycle were irregular so my doctor prescribed loestrin 24 to make them regular. What do I need to do now to conceive our first born?
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Avatar m tn Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?
Avatar n tn My gynecologist prescribed me lo loestrin fe to help with irregular and painful periods. I started taking it the first day of my period, Dec 25. I continued to bleed until Jan 20 (CD 27/the last white pill before the brown placebo pills) I also had sex on Jan 21 around 1:00 AM using the withdraw method correctly. I took a pregnancy test Jan 28 and it was negative.
Avatar f tn More then likely it's the birth control combined with your period. I don't think you have any reason to worry.

6422064 tn?1381160165 Before that I use to take beyaz for about 5 months..my dr. Wanted me to try a new birth control so he put me on Loestrin fe. I was good taking pills regularly but soon I started to forget and would miss 2 days here and there and would double up. I dI'd not use a back up method because I figured I had difficulty getting pregnant anyway, and most condoms irritate my skin. I was on bc because to help control my cyst.
Avatar f tn m not sure which birth control pill you are taking, but I assume it is Loestrin 24 Fe from your title. Yes, it is a little unusual that you started bleeding so early on after starting your birth control pills and that you have been bleeding for so long. It may be related to the fact that you haven't had a period for 2.5 years. Your uterine lining has been building up for 2.5 years. Remember normally, your uterine lining is shed every month. But you have not had a period for 2.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
Avatar f tn ive recently been put on loestrin fe and have been experiening changes.what should i do??
Avatar f tn Hello, Taking pills not as directed can cause irregular menstrual bleeding and hormonal imbalances. If otherwise you have been taking your pills regularly without any break then the chances of conceiving are very less. Birth control pills are very effective in preventing pregnancy if taken correctly and as prescribed. Birth control pills have several mechanisms of action.
1820715 tn?1317186372 Last month I went to see my gynecologist to get on some bc to see if it would help with my irregular bleeding, well now it seems that it got worse! I have been taking lo loestrin fe for almost a month and am double dosing for about a week and the bleeding hasn't stopped, it has slowed a little bit.(did some research about this pill and it seems many other woman have had the same issue, but I am gonna stick with it until my surgery per doctors request.
Avatar f tn I'm 37 and positive I have endo: horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, exhaustion, never been pregnant, lots of gastro problems, constipation, etc. I also gained 15 pounds in 2 months and went up two cup sizes with no change in diet or activity level whatsoever. (Does endo cause weight gain??) My new gyne said there's an 80% chance it's endo, put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which stopped my period after the first dose, but I had horrible side effects after just a few days.
Avatar n tn ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.
192270 tn?1216261777 Two missed periods and negative blood test. All while on birth control (Loestrin 24 started bills on 10/23 first sign of bleeding). Can I be pregnant? Thyroid and anemia test are negative.
Avatar m tn A bit of a complicated situation: I just started taking loestrin 24 fe the week of July 4th (took the first pill on the first day of my period). That first week I took the pill somewhat recklessly (as in: one night at 10 PM, one night at 1 am, the next at 9:30 PM, the following at 8 PM,, the next at 9 PM, the next at 11 PM).
