lidoderm patch back pain

Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.

Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?

I've used Flector patch. Minimally to no help at all for my low back pain.

Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.

Hi, I fell last year and broke my coxis. Eventually it fixed itself. Now it has moved and I am in a lot of pain. My doctor gave me Fentanyl patches and they are not doing much. I use Lidoderm patches for arhtitis pain. I don't know whether I can use both together and weather I can take some pain meds at the same time? I am going abroad in 10 days and there is no way I can cancel this trp... Please, help! Thanks.

Dr Mathur, I have tried Ice, heat so much I've burned my skin, massage, acupuncture. Nothing really helps massage/ acupuncture sessions which only last for a few days. It's pretty expensive to have to go a couple times a week. Heat helps but both legs (the entire length) hurt along with my back. I haven't been able to take Lyrica which was really the only thing that adequately controlled the pain for quite some time now. Pain meds do not help my nerve pain, never have.

t know if your doctor would approve but there is a patch called a Lidoderm patch that was created by a doctor for his wife who was suffering from shingles. It is not a narcotic, just a lidocaine patch. It works really well for pain in a specific area, they can even be cut and placed on various spots. I have one on my shoulder right now and it is helping with the pain.

Has anyone ever used a pain patch for their TMJ pain? have some Lidoderm patches, which contain 5% Lidocaine, which I have for my fibaro and spine problems. I just got back from Reno, Nv, which was an 1143 mile round trip. The trip down was fine, but the trip back today was in rain, hail, wind and snow. Needless to say now in more pain than ever. I had a massage while there, concentrated on the head, neck and shoulders. Masseuse commented I had a major major amt of tight muscles and knots.

Hello there is a lidocaine patch called Lidoderm, it was made for people who have shingles pain. It is very helpful and in fact since being introduced people are using for back pain, tennis elbow, etc. It numbs the nerve pain. A doctor invented for his wife who suffered from shingles.

Another thing I used before the pain went away was a numbing patch called a lidoderm patch. It is not a narcotic. It is a numbing patch with an ingredient like a dentist uses. My Dad is using it now for his knee pain. No side effects for me unless it kept me awake some times. You can wear it for 12 hours at a time, then take it off I hope this helps.

Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!

I take the Lidoderm Patch 5% (Prescription Only) I get a box every month and share it with my mom. I use it for spinal issues and she uses it for Neuropathy. The Lidoderm patches help her a great deal and me a little. Its worth a try. I guess the cost all depends on your insurance. They are worth a try.

No you can't, you should have this evaluated by your primary physician. He can assess your coronary risk and properly decide if you need any cardiac workup.

Hello all. I am an otherwise healthy, (formerly) active 29-year old male. About three months ago I began experiencing severe, random pain at the top of my heel in my right foot. No discernible triggers. The first time it occurred I was sitting on a friend's porch, and since then it has happened when I was walking, sitting, lying down, and has even woken me screaming from a dead sleep on occasion. When it happens the pain is anywhere from a 6 to a 10, lasting from 1-15 seconds.

That's the Lidoderm Patch and my hubby and I use the heck out of them. They are great. You can cut them down to conserve (for instance if you need to wrap around a really bad arthritic finger...you could get at least 5 to 6 strip treatments from one patch for one finger). DO pay attention to the 12 hours on 12 hours off. It won't bother you for a day or two but eventually it will irritate the heck out of your skin.

m prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.

i have used Lidoderm patches - lidocaine in an adhesive patch - it numbs the area somewhat. ask your doc about them.
