1571533 tn?1322943509 Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!
Avatar m tn No I have implanted pacemaker/defibrillator. Recently i developed severe back pain and can barely walk. I got prescribed Norco, lidocaine patches, and diclofenac 75 mg. Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication: Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening Carvedilol 6.

1415174 tn?1453243103 I've used Flector patch. Minimally to no help at all for my low back pain.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever used a pain patch for their TMJ pain? have some Lidoderm patches, which contain 5% Lidocaine, which I have for my fibaro and spine problems. I just got back from Reno, Nv, which was an 1143 mile round trip. The trip down was fine, but the trip back today was in rain, hail, wind and snow. Needless to say now in more pain than ever. I had a massage while there, concentrated on the head, neck and shoulders. Masseuse commented I had a major major amt of tight muscles and knots.
Avatar f tn After this diagnois is confirmed you need to go to a physical rehab specialist who will, for starters, teach you some exercises that will relieve the pressure. A electrical tens device will sometimes relieve the pain, as well as a transdermal 5% Lidocaine patch, to be used for no more than 12 hours at a time. Eventually you may require a procedure known as a laminectomy. Keep well hydrated, avoid riding in a bouncy vehicle, resolve to always lift properly, and hopefully it will get better.
Avatar n tn When in doubt, ask your doctor!

Avatar f tn I think they are wonderful, just to relief the general area of pain without having to take a pill. I use it on my lower back where I have nerve damage, changing every 6 to 8 hours.
Avatar f tn t know if your doctor would approve but there is a patch called a Lidoderm patch that was created by a doctor for his wife who was suffering from shingles. It is not a narcotic, just a lidocaine patch. It works really well for pain in a specific area, they can even be cut and placed on various spots. I have one on my shoulder right now and it is helping with the pain.
Avatar n tn I too used to get pain in buttocks & back when I used to sit on bed and for long time Few helpful things for you. 1) While sleeping at night sleep side ways which gives relief 2) Keep a pillow support to your back for 20 mins so that your buttock will not rest on the bed while sleeping, so it gets no pressure. 3) Use cushion pillows under your buttocks while sitting which are of pure soft cotton, change it very frequently so that it will not become hot due to movement.
1001737 tn?1324499915 hi, i'm a 24yo male. I've been having lower back pain for about 5 years now. And my doctors have given up, "We tried all that we could have done." Recently I've started noticing other things and not knowing if they are normal, - When I'm reading a book in bed, is it normal to feel fatigue, strain, discomfort in my lower arms and shoulders? (after about 7-9min.
Avatar f tn I have a lot of other areas of chronic pain....but not my shoulder and T zones in my back anymore. I attribute that to several things: Chiropratic adjustments..... Deep tissue massage.... Specific exercises to loosen the shoulders and neck....like shoulder rolls...forward and backwards.. cross stretching with my arms..and there are many more you can find online or thru your Physical Therapist, Massage Therapist, or Chiropractor.

Avatar n tn Hello there is a lidocaine patch called Lidoderm, it was made for people who have shingles pain. It is very helpful and in fact since being introduced people are using for back pain, tennis elbow, etc. It numbs the nerve pain. A doctor invented for his wife who suffered from shingles.
Avatar m tn m prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
Avatar f tn Just a little over two weeks ago I acquired low back pain radiating into one leg from what is believed to be (by me, my MD, and my DC) compression of disks. No traumatic injury, just prolonged standing on a hard surface doing volunteer service to people in a dinner line for 5.5 hrs. I have completed a 10-day course of prednisone. My MD prescribed 2-3 Lortab for pain. My DC has made adjustments and given me a therapeutic exercise for the low back.
Avatar f tn I had been diagnosed with a small herniated disc in my lower back. Lumbar l-5. I have been dealing with back pain since April 2015. I've already been treated by a chiropractor for 8 weeks with no relief. I then Was referred to a pain management doctor and had a total of three epidurals and still no relief. My pain is so bad that I can't stand for more then 5 minutes at a time and have pain all around my back and pelvic area, And all the way down my legs.
Avatar n tn Everyone keeps telling me this is normal due to an increased volume at the injection site which is causing inflammation around the nerve. But, I have been on NSAIDs for 5 days and wearing a lidocaine patch on the injection site with no relief. Please help. I am terrified this is permanent. I just feel like no one is listening to how serious this could potentially be.
Avatar f tn He also prescribed Lidocaine pain patches to help manage the leg pain, which is particularly difficult if I sit or ride for a long period. I generally used these 1-3 times a week. This made my back/leg pain tolerable, but it never goes away. Other meds were Lexapro for anxiety, which, according to my doctor added to tension and leg pain. I have never had a "high" and do not understand or know what that is.
