Levoxyl pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Levoxyl pregnancy

synthroid

377296 tn?1281095438 I currently take Levoxyl and recently found out I am pregnant. They tested my thyroid levels and my TSH 0.027 and the FT4 was 13.6 . What does this mean? Does the Levoxyl suppress the thyroid from working, and supplement the hormones my body needs? ANy advice would be great- thanks!
Avatar n tn My dosage of Levoxyl pre-pregnancy was 150 mcg (down from 175 mcg when I was at my highest weight). I was stabilized at a TSH of around 2.0 and felt good. I had enough energy to exercise and work (I stand all day), without too much fatigue. I just got my first lab results from my doctor and my TSH was 8.42, Free T4 was 1.30. I am very concerned about the TSH level.
Avatar f tn Hi, My Doctor started me with Levoxyl at 50 mcg (he said at this dose it had no additional fillers - he was concerned that I was reacting to fillers which is odd as he had me on 50 mcgs of Tirosint prior and pulled me off because he thought I was reacting to Tirosint (my skin was peeling). Interestingly he tried 75 mcg of synthroid (which I do have hay fever so that didn't work) and said I really needed 75 mcgs but I guess he wanted to see how well I would tolerate the levoxyl.
Avatar n tn Medically, the switch from Tirosint to Levoxyl was totally painless, though I did go from 88 mcg to 100 mcg, but I was ready to do that on Tirosint, as well. I feel as good, or better, than I did on Tirosint. The best part is that my wallet loves the price difference. I just picked up my refill yesterday, so I'm good to go for another 90 days.
Avatar n tn I have been back on Levoxyl after being off it for 8 months.I felt good at first but going in to my third week -not so good.I feel very tired, legs are wobbly and like jelly at times.I just feel blah and like passing out at times. Is it possible the dose is too high?My doctor put me on 88 mcg when I was previously on 75.tsh was over 26 but I hear it corrects pretty qiuickly when back on meds.Any input would be appreciated.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I am hearing positive things about levoxyl (brand). I am currently on a compound and i have been on it for about 8 weeks now. My numbers are getting pretty bad and the doctor says the compound is not right for me. My last full test showed that my tsh was at 65. The ft3 was 1.3 (range 2.3 to 3.9) and my ft4 was .4 (range .8 to 1.8) currently my tsh is at 115 but i do not know my frees right now. they are suggesting moving me from a compound of 150 to a levoxyl of 175.
616450 tn?1228433627 After the RAI I felt great for a few months. When the doctor put me on Levoxyl, after I supposedly went a LITTLE hypo, I started feeling like ****. I have more anxiety, can't sleep and my heart gets pumped up easily. I get out of breath real easy too. I think my heart is affected and I have chest pains. I feel sick and nauseated all the time and have to go lay down even at work, so I'll eventually lose my job if something isn't done.
Avatar f tn In 2005 I had the right side of my thyroid removed. I've been on Levoxyl 75mcg. since that time and recently was put on Cytomel .5mgc twice a day. What would result if I had to stop taking them? Thank you kindly for your information.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 25mgs of levoxyl and everytime I take the pill i get a racing heartbeat and heart palpitations. I have called my doctor and the nurse there told me to take the pill every other day. i tried that but then I would get the palpitations on the days I would take it. Then I called back after a week and was told to take it every 3 days. I stopped for 3 days to get some of it out of my system and felt great. Not as many palpitations and i was able to sleep.
Avatar f tn I will probably either go back to taking my Nutri Thyroid at an increased dose or try Levoxyl. Has anybody got any experience with this drug or Evotrox Liquid ?? Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. AquarianGlory This discussion is related to Levothyroid and mood swings.
1063764 tn?1272821064 Hi, I was just recently put on 50 mcg of Levoxyl. This was about three weeks ago. Before that I was taking 25 mcg of levothyroxine since July. Since taking the new dosage and medication I have had MUCH more energy, and feel better. However, I am just wondering if the hormone changes in the body could affect the menstrual cycle. Sorry if it's TMI, but I started taking it right after my past cycle, and have not had my most recent.
Avatar f tn Based on my blood test result my doctor made a derision regarding my thyroid gland, and Levoxyl 0,05 mg was prescribed, My questions: 1. Which blood test parameters are telling that I have to start/stop taking Levoxyl? 2. Can I replace Levoxyl with natural products (some diet, using the iodized salt, etc.) ? Many thanks!
Avatar f tn HI, I am 17 weeks pregnant. I take levoxyl everyday. As per my information I can not drink milk along with levoxyl and have lost the habit of drinking it since 4-5 yrs back when i was tested with hypothyroid. I also was tested deficient in Vit D 3-4 weeks back( I was 3 months pregnant then) and since then I am taking tums 750mg along with Vit D3 400iu chewable supplements 5-6 times/week. I still get leg/calf muscle cramps at night and while walking sometime.
Avatar f tn OK, I GAINED 15 LBS IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS, I AM CURRENTLY ON LEVOXYL 100 MCG AND BEGAN TAKING TWO 5 MCG CYTOMELS TWICE DAILY YESTERDAY. Avatar f tn The initial hcg level was 51 and TSH 18 last saturday. I am on 112mcg of Levoxyl with a history of hypothroidism since 6yrs. My hcg and TSH rechecked yesterday and hcg turns out to be 198.My pcp put me on 150mcg from 112mcg Levoxyl since yesterday. Now I am worried about my unborn baby and any complications associated such as development/birth defects, etc. Could you please guide me in the right direction whether to carry on with my pregnancy or go for an abortion.
7074596 tn?1387754708 been taking levoxyl for a few years.Recently my insurance substituted synthroid.Dont feel comfortable with this change.
Avatar n tn Hi, there is anyone else having to deal with this Levoxyl recall? I have had hypothyroidism for 18 years. Diagnosed with Hashimoto's 8 years ago. I was on levothyroxine 100 for many years and did great. Then something changed, Hashimoto's Dr.s said...Been on Levoxyl 75 for 4 years and have never felt good. Tried Armour, too much t3 for me, I swelled up on Sinthroid. I am ok on Levoxyl I guess but now they had to give me the generic because of the recall.
Avatar f tn I was taking a pill that was not round and believe it worked better, levoxyl (sp?) Are these the same or is one preferred over the other? I have such exhaustion it becomes difficult to do anything.
Avatar n tn it was 1. something... im taking 125mcg of levoxyl. How much should i increase the dosage to? Im in any risk?
Avatar n tn After taking the Thyroxine I noticed a terrible burning in the throat and indigestion which I never had with the Levoxyl. So I am requesting to be changed back to the Levoxyl. I think some of these medications have different ingredients. I never had this happen with the Levoxyl. I hope this helps anyone who has been put on the generic form of medication. Someone asked earlier if this will ever go away. No, once you develop thyroid disease it is for life.
