Levoxyl at night

Common Questions and Answers about Levoxyl at night

synthroid

Avatar n tn Since going off high doses of pain medication a year ago my doctors have been reducing my Levoxyl every 6-8 weeks when a new test shows I STILL have too much thyroid. When I lay down at night my heart pounds so hard I stay awake all night if I don't take Ambien. Isn't there some other way to get the right dose without taking over a year to find it? It is believed that the pain meds suppressed the Armour, so when my tests were too low and they kept INCREASING the dose.
Avatar f tn scan done at the hospital. Took the levoxyl 25mcg and the lysinop HCTZ 20/25 for three days and end up being wheeled out of work by the paramedics. I was solid red, couldn't breathe, tongue and lips numb, legs floaty feeling. The ER says I must be allergic to the blood pressure med. I stop taking any med for the blood pressure, take prednisone and benadryl for a few days, continue with the levoxyl.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 25mgs of levoxyl and everytime I take the pill i get a racing heartbeat and heart palpitations. I have called my doctor and the nurse there told me to take the pill every other day. i tried that but then I would get the palpitations on the days I would take it. Then I called back after a week and was told to take it every 3 days. I stopped for 3 days to get some of it out of my system and felt great. Not as many palpitations and i was able to sleep.
Avatar f tn s to hypo, so I am wondering how long it might take for me to start getting relief and get back to life with the help of levoxyl? Also, does it help at all with weight loss? I know I'll have to exercise, but I can't believe all the extra pounds I am carrying are because of my diet. Thank you for any advice!! Take care...
616450 tn?1228433627 After the RAI I felt great for a few months. When the doctor put me on Levoxyl, after I supposedly went a LITTLE hypo, I started feeling like ****. I have more anxiety, can't sleep and my heart gets pumped up easily. I get out of breath real easy too. I think my heart is affected and I have chest pains. I feel sick and nauseated all the time and have to go lay down even at work, so I'll eventually lose my job if something isn't done.
1256167 tn?1269628350 So, with reading all I shouldn't eat/take with in a rage of time after taking my meds I'm wondering, would it be a good idea to take my meds at night instead? I know that you all are not doctors and I really should leave it up to the suppervision of my doctor but......HE'S A QUAK!!
1139187 tn?1355706647 SHe told me to either stay on the increased compound again or start on levoxyl. My choice. She would start me at 175 mg levoxyl. So i came to this board to learn about this drug as i have never heard of it. Put yourself in my shoes. DO you stay on something that isn't working? OR do you once again switch to something new?
314892 tn?1264623903 Hi All, My TSH has climbed to 5.1 after decreasing my dose back to 50 mcg for 2 months. At 62.5, my TSH was 1.4 and the endo was going to raise it to 75, to get it below 1 hopefully. I thought I needed to lower it because I felt unwell after 8 weeks on 62.5. I realize now that I needed more not less Synthroid and my TSH was probably already going up by then. I was retested after about 8 weeks on 50 and low and behold, my TSH shot up from 1.4 to 5.1 !!
Avatar f tn I have NO desire to eat and very dry mouth, I do sleep ok at night though. I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem with Levoxyl.
Avatar n tn I have been back on Levoxyl after being off it for 8 months.I felt good at first but going in to my third week -not so good.I feel very tired, legs are wobbly and like jelly at times.I just feel blah and like passing out at times. Is it possible the dose is too high?My doctor put me on 88 mcg when I was previously on 75.tsh was over 26 but I hear it corrects pretty qiuickly when back on meds.Any input would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn As if my head was on the back of a washing machine. This was only at night but within a few weeks it started occuring through out the day. And was followed by head pressure that feels as if skull is going to pop - I can even feel it clicking as the squeezing starts. The tremors/vibrations come on with no warning through out the day and make sleeping at night impossible. My doctor prescribed muscle relaxants and klonopin which help for sleep. I went to a neurologist and had a neck MRI.
Avatar f tn In 2005 I had the right side of my thyroid removed. I've been on Levoxyl 75mcg. since that time and recently was put on Cytomel .5mgc twice a day. What would result if I had to stop taking them? Thank you kindly for your information.
Avatar f tn I will probably either go back to taking my Nutri Thyroid at an increased dose or try Levoxyl. Has anybody got any experience with this drug or Evotrox Liquid ?? Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. AquarianGlory This discussion is related to Levothyroid and mood swings.
Avatar n tn Medically, the switch from Tirosint to Levoxyl was totally painless, though I did go from 88 mcg to 100 mcg, but I was ready to do that on Tirosint, as well. I feel as good, or better, than I did on Tirosint. The best part is that my wallet loves the price difference. I just picked up my refill yesterday, so I'm good to go for another 90 days.
Avatar n tn I asked him about my R ear always hurting and jaw and he said that had NOTHING to do with this growth. I probably grind my teeth at night. But I just read that other people have had the same problem! Does anyone have a good answer to why the ear hurts?
Avatar f tn I still get leg/calf muscle cramps at night and while walking sometime. I am very concerned about the developing baby and the importance of milk in my diet. Please guide if it is advisable to drink milk and how should I have it with my levoxyl. What are the side effects of not drinking milk to me and the developing baby?
Avatar m tn Have you tried generic levothyroxine? I did much better on that, than I did on Synthroid. I was never on Levoxyl. You should get tested for Free T3 every time you have blood work (be sure to specify "free" because simply T3 indicates total, which is obsolete and of little value -- same goes for T4; if Free isn't specified, we assume it to be total). FT3 is the hormone that's actually used by the individual cells, while FT4 is a storage hormone and must be converted to FT3.
1299122 tn?1281040416 Within about 10 days of starting the Levoxyl, I began to feel some energy. I was beginning to sleep at night withourt waking 2-3 times. The night sweats stopped. I thought OMG! It's working! Thank you God! Then...about 5 days ago the electric burning pins & needles began ALL over my body - random - here & there, even on top of my head! The come suddenly and burn! I also have the feeling of pressure within my ears, especially the right side.
Avatar f tn ½ in am and ½ at bedtime), I was having constant loud heartbeats waking me up at night, tightness and lump in my throat, and swelling of my neck under my chin. I also had more energy than I have had in years, so I know I was hyper. My endro told me my labs were “perfect” and there was nothing wrong with my thyroid, to go to heart doc, then to gyn. EKG and US already done, basically normal.
Avatar f tn I just want to be able to clean my house and take care of my family. I am sometimes too tired to take a shower at night. I know part of it is having a new baby, but we are sleeping pretty good at night.
Avatar n tn First medication tried was .75 of Synthroid, then generics, Cytomel, Armour. Currently on .25 Levoxyl on 4 times per week. Was thinking about switching back to Synthroid at a lower dosage - would this make sense? Has anyone else had bad side effects with meds, and then felt better on Synthroid? I just don't feel right, I don't feel well and I don' t know what to do. Any suggestions? I just want to FEEL BETTER. Thanks!
Avatar n tn My doctor sent me to an endocrinologist who gave me levoxyl to shirnk it. My blood work all came back within normal ranges. The levoxyl caused me to have an allergic reaction after taking 1/2 of the smallest dose for 3 days(panic attack, itchy skin and scalp and shortness of breath.) He has told me to stop taking the levoxyl and come back in 3 months. I feel a fullness in my throat sometimes. When I lay down on my back it feels heavy.
Avatar m tn t exactly found my numbers concerning my intake of t4 but I do know that I am hyper at 175 mcg levoxyl and extremely hypo at 125 mcg levoxyl. That being said, I am extremely allergic to the dyes in all of the thyroid medications and also I am lactose intolerant. So, I was having to take three 50 mcg pills a day because the 50 mcg of levoxyl is the only pill that doesn't have lactose or dyes in it. So, with all that being said, I wanted to switch to a hypoallergenic pill, Tirosint.
