levaquin

Avatar f tn Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.
Avatar n tn I have been taking 25mg of Atenolol for pvc's for about six years following an ablation for PSVT. I have had no side effects, except fatigue, until recently. I developed a sinus infection and took the normal ten days of antibiotics. My pvc's ,which were rare, are suddenly non stop. I wore a Holter monitor for 24 hours - results were "non remarkable." Along with the increase in pvc's, I developed a severe headache, dizziness, and tingling in my hands and feet.
Avatar n tn My daughter is in Macedonia. She is 13weeks pregnant and has been diagnosed with ureaplasma urealyticum/ mycooplasma hominis. Her doctor prescribed Azithromax and Levaquin but wants her to wait until she is 5 months along to take it. Is this safe?
Avatar n tn Hey there...you cannot cut the dose in half....i would call your doctor and see if he/she can change your meds or if it's ok to stop..Levaquin can be given in 250, 500 & 750 mg doses...I was on Levaquin earlier this year for uti and had horrible side effects, so i just stopped taking the meds...I had horrible heart pounding, swollen knees and it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me with a baseball bat...
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor who suggested it could be a bacterial infection, and prescribed me Levaquin. I got tested for every potential STD: HIV, Hep A/B, Syphilis, etc. Now, let's say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? I am taking 500mg for 6 days. Please help me. This discussion is related to Levaquin for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea.
Avatar n tn Albicans, you have a real problem. The anti-biotics knocked out too much good bacteria in your gut making the bad bacteria in your gut get out of hand. Sugar feeds candida, making it worse. And Activia has sugar in it. Both lactose and sucrose. That's why it doesn't always work for people with a bad yeast problem. So, if you get no help after 2 weeks, purchase a probiotic called Primal Defense Ultra by Garden of Life. Get the capsules. It's the best probiotic on the market.
Avatar n tn or maybe a bladder infection because levaquin is a strong antibiotic for infections. Was there a mistake made in your Rx because why would you need an antibiotic.I would not take it and call the pharmacy to check the Rx again .Unless you have an infection I don't see a need for it.
483814 tn?1214311480 But just Google levaquin and read prescribing information for the drug - use your find feature in your browser to locate HEPATIC or LIVER or Hepatitis in the literature.
168348 tn?1379357075 All of the side affects are due to the Levaquin. I would have to have a gun pointed to my head before I took levaquin, and even then I might still refuse. Levaquin is a very "punishing" medication. Levaquin has it's mplace in the physicians armamentarium. For example, if I had bubonic plaque, I might consider levaquin. But they have an EXCELLENT drug marketing program. The symptoms will eventually disappear. Don't change your synthroid dose.
Avatar n tn has to be the levaquin, i am in good health and the only thing added was the levaquin and then cannot walk on rt leg! Dr. ordered crutches for me to keep weight off leg and let it heal and naproxin but i'll use advil or motrin for inflammation. Hoping I recover quickly from this event. Just wanted to share and thank you.
Avatar n tn During or after your surgery did the doctor use in the IV or prescribe levaquin, cipro, or avelox. These are fluoroquinolones and are know to cause neuropathy. A coworker's father was given levaquin for pneumonia and now has neuropathy.
1831920 tn?1320857757 I suggest you look up some articles on crate training and have your husband read them. We are not talking in humane crating here. He probably has visions if puppy mill dogs. Many of us here are experienced and "humane" dog people. Dogs are basically den animals. All my dogs have usually gone in their crates on their own to nap, my little one is in her crate now. I leave the door open. If your dog is ill or injured, the crate comes in handy.
Avatar f tn I took Tussionex for the first time at 11:00 pm after I took a Levaquin at 10:00 pm. I have bronchitis. I awoke suddenly from my sleep at 2:00 am and had no breath - and could not speak or call my husband although I was trying to say 'help'. I got my breath back after a minute or so and was pretty shaken up by this. I'm very tired but reluctant to go back to sleep if it happens again. I was pretty shaken up. Is this an allergic reaction or a side effect?
Avatar f tn So did mine-the RA labs--normal RF, inflammation markers, and anti-CCP antibody. Yet my fingers behaves like RA, with morning stiffness and trigger fingers, and with the pain like you describes. For me, plaquenil pretty much holds it at bay. Rocephin IV make it feel even more better. Some place I read mycoplamsa can be behind RA mainfestations, not just bartonella.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed six 500mg Levaquin tablets to treat Strep Throat and a potential sinus infection. I only took 4 of the 6 pills since the side effects were getting to much to handle. I started on 3/12/2010 to 3/15/2010. Here were the side effects: -nausea -no appetite -headaches -dizziness -diarrhea -anxiety attacks -confusion, like you don't feel like yourself After I stopped taking it, my nausea and appetite returned gradually in the following two days.
Avatar n tn Good to see his symptoms improving. It could a side effect of levaquin, as this can cause swelling and pain in the joints, this is more so if he is prone for joint/tendon problems such as tendonitis and bursitis. It should resolve once the medication is stopped. Discuss these symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medication. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
612551 tn?1450022175 like myself who is also a (human) medical technician (nurse) said that he has had success with Benadryl Topical liquid on his dogs. I know the fact that it is safe/recommended for human use is not proof it is safe or effective on dogs. Still I'd like to give it a try. On the ears there is no way he can lick/ingest the stuff, on the feet he may get some ingested and perhaps that is a different issue.
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was prescribed Levaquin. He has been off the medication for about a week and a half and he is still experiencing phobic attacks in the morning. He wakes up in a panic and believes that he cannot breath. While he was taking the drug he experienced major confusion, anxiety, depression and dizziness. It was awful! He even experienced a very bad episode when he became abusive...and delusional.
