jaw-pain

Avatar m tn A couple days ago, I was chewing a lot of gum. yesterday, i noticed my left jaw (lower) was aching a little. today it is aching still, slightly more. still not too bad. anyway, i googled the symptom. it's apparently a warning sign for a heart attack. so pretty scared it's almost 1 am. should i rush out to the ER? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Yes I have the jaw tightness when I.chew and lately have also been having esophageal spasms when I eat and drink at times. Don't know if its related to my ms or not though.
Avatar m tn alot of morning i wake up with one and im guessing its due to this jaw pain. is only on left side. do i go to the dentist or dr for this? had my wisdoms out yrs ago and had a bad infection, could this have anything to do with that?
Avatar m tn Its generally pain that is activated by the use of the temporalis muscle. You remark that you have pain when chewing but not when closing necessarily. The temporalis muscle is used for that and would result in pain. Also, if you want, you can have your dentist feel the muscle to see if it will trigger pain. As for your cracked tooth, its possible the crack is quite deep and extensive and cause some damage to the pulp of the tooth, resulting in pain.
Avatar f tn Hi there. This just started? In all honesty, I think this is important to get checked out. There is a variety of things that can case lower jaw pain. First, you need to make sure your teeth are okay! Yes, on both sides. You have to rule out something going on with that. Then TMJ comes to mind. And even your heart can be involved with lower jaw pain. Here is an article to read. But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason.
Avatar n tn When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.

Avatar n tn I have had ringing in the ears for quite some time. I have pain in my left jaw and ear. Both ears seam "full". When I talk I can hear myself like when you have a cold. I have been diagnosed with TMJ and I am now going to a special physical therapist for TMJ. THis is starting help the jaw pain. Prior to that I had seen a doctor who gave me a mouth piece to wear to help align my jaw and help the TMJ. Another symptom I have is the loss of smell which in turn gives me a loss of taste.
Avatar n tn Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days.
Avatar n tn t had one in a few weeks. The pain seemed to be worse when I moved my jaw. Like I said it only lasted a few minutes, and seemed to be really random. Now I feel a bit of pressure but nothing too bothersome. I'd appreciate any help I could get. Thank you.
Avatar n tn My mouth will not open and close evenly and when I lay down my jaw locks up and I can’t open my mouth. When I’m up it always pops on the right side opening and closing my mouth while talking and chewing. I would like to know why it does this and what is causing this and if it can be treated. I am in pain everyday with this problem and it is very frustrating. It started a few years ago and it is getting worse. Please help!! Thanks!!
4693233 tn?1358050966 I was wondering if ms can cause weakness in the jaw muscle, with swallowing problems? These are my symptoms If i chew hard meat it triggers left facial pain with spasms in my jaw muscles and neck My neck swells because of the spasms then I have a hard time swallowing. I have a ms lesion in my spinal cord and my triminal nerve My jaw spasms is like spasticity that i get in my legs.
481349 tn?1226710487 Or should I see a doctor since the pain is in my ear, jaw, head and a little in my neck? Also, I looked up jaw pain and saw some exercises that can be done to alleviate jaw pain. I did the exercises and the pain in my jaw practically exploded. Also, my jaw feels really fatigued like I have been doing a LOT of chewing when I haven't been really eating any solids because of the pain. Please help.
Avatar f tn My dentist told me that we are biologically only expected to eat a few times a day, that the jaw and teeth really are not built for constant chewing all day long, and that the pressure we put on our jaw when chewing gum is much harder than the pressure when we are eating. My jaw healed to the extent that it stopped clicking, but the arthritis is still there.
Avatar m tn My 80 year old mother has started this almost constant "chewing" type jaw movements. Does this have anything to do with Parkinson's? She was at a neurologist today for pain in both of her hands and diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel and he noticed a constant twitching in her left thumb. He did some other neurological testing and said she might have the beginnings of Parkinson's. i didn't think to tell him of this jaw movement.
Avatar f tn Hello. About a month ago I had a dull aching in my jaw. I also had some ear pain and my jaw was clicking/popping. I also had some tooth sensitivity. This lasted two weeks and went away. It is now two weeks later and the dull ache is back. I went to the dentist and all my teeth looks great, he thinks I may be clenching my teeth. I have found my jaw feels better when I massage it. I have no triggers, it actually feels better when I’m chewing. There is also some slight swelling.
Avatar f tn I had 6 composite fillings done earlier this year and all of them hurt even weeks after getting them done especially when chewing food(soft or hard). The pain was too much and i couldn't chew so my dentist removed the fillings and put in temporary ones. As soon as the temporary fillings were put in there was no pain at all. Two days ago i went back to have 3 of the temporary fillings replaced with composite again and the pain when chewing has come back. Whats going on with these fillings?
Avatar n tn For the past 3 weeks, I have had pain when chewing or biting down in my right ear and in that part of my jaw just below the temple. My dentist and orthodontist have said my jaw is disaligned in the past (I look normal though), but I have never had pain. My back molars do not touch when I bite, and my front teeth bite right together with no overbite at all. However, the pain has just now come and seems worse when I sleep on my face funny. Sometimes it is so bad that it is difficult to eat.
Avatar f tn I can bear the pain so I go to sleep hoping it will just disapear. When I woke up I feel pain at the back of my head not in the brain. It feels like electric shocks. After 3 days (tuesday) the whole day I was worried about my head because my veins in my head is painful like headache. If I press it it feel pain and the pain travel to other veins conected to that vein. Now I'm afraid to touch my head. I think i experience those because of the pulsing vein.
Avatar m tn My jaw has been popping occasionally while eating and always when chewing gum. I did a search on jaw popping and found that MS is sometimes misdiagnosed as TMJ. Is this possibly another symptom? And should I seek assistance from my neuro or dentist? Is important to have it looked at immediately? (I ask that because I have a neuro appt in a month.) Thanks for any help or advice.
Avatar f tn Woke up this morning with pain in my left jaw, right at the joint in front of the ear. I also have a bit of an earrache. When I open my mouth to any extent I get more pain, and if I slide my jaw to the left I can hear a distinctive click, and feel it too. This part is not particularly painful. I do not grind my teeth, clench my jaw or do anything else to stress the joint or mouth, so I'm wondering why this should happen.
5555569 tn?1369800168 Last Morning , when i waked up , suddenly got a jaw pain, when iam trying to chew pain comes a lot...it may be ear infection???
Avatar n tn It feels like I am chewing on aluminum fool. I also have pain in my jaw that feels burning. I have had an MVD that failed because my doctor said I have trigeminal neuralgia. Which now I am not so sure I have. Can you recommend anything that I should do now?
