l-arginine

Avatar m tn I have results of serum zinc, test was done few days after stopping zinc supplementation and it's in norm 98µg/dl [50,00 - 150,00] N Not sure should I supplement it from time to time, not necessary daily. I don't want to be deficient but also don't want to suppress T cells.
Avatar f tn I have a question from the opposite angle.. I had been told l- arginine would be of help releasing nitric oxide in the blood to help with male erection/orgasm ..however, that arginine shouldn't be taken by those with hsv1/2 because it can provoke an outbreak. Can you debunk this ? I would love to take arginine if it can help at all !
Avatar m tn I take a multi vitamin as well as L-Arginine, Zinc and Saw Palmetto. I was wondering if anyone has any concrete evidence that the L-Arginine especially has any negative effects on my condition (causes/exacerbates) breakouts etc. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible. I like taking the L-arginine for the muscle building properties but I am willing to stop taking it if it makes my HPV worse.
Avatar f tn ve read that L-carnitine works best when taken in conjuntion with L-Arginine and L-Lysine sp? They are amino acids if I remember correct and do help with male fertility. Watch zinc. While it is essential to male fertility, it is stored in the body and can be o'd and serious if is.
Avatar f tn * Pumpkin seeds are naturally high in zinc and essential fatty acids which are vital to healthy functioning of the male reproductive system. Eat pumpkin seeds to help maintain a healthy reproductive system. Supplements The following supplements may increase sperm count and/or motility. Allow 3-4 months for the supplements to work. * Arginine - Take 4 gr daily. Needed to produce sperm. If the sperm count is below 10 million per ml, arginine probably will not provide any benefit.
Avatar m tn Hi can I use maca,l arginine ,l carntine ,zinc,,horny goat weed and tribulus terris at same time to improve sperm quantity
Avatar n tn Hey guys, Quick question - I just got over my first out-break about 3 weeks ago roughly and started taking valtrex one a day as suppresive therapy - after a weekend of intense birthday drinking (i know, it is my fault) and too much coconut water (L-Arginine) i noticed the small area getting itchy and red.
Avatar f tn Clinical studies continue to demonstrate that antioxidants, the amino acid, l-carnitine, and minerals like zinc an selenium help promote sperm motility and concentration. A recent (2007) FertilAid for Men study further substantiates these claims. L-Carnitine plays a vital role in spermatogenesis & sperm development - and in ensuring the maintenance of sperm quality and vitality. L-carnitine supports the metabolic processes of sperm and therefore helps sustain normal motility.

Avatar m tn I have noticed the Zinc upsets my stomach so I have to take it with a little food. Just my personal experience. As I think you all know, I plan on treating with triple therapy (INC, peg-INF, RBV) leading into my transplant. Meaning I will attempt to become UND during those weeks (4-12) before transplant. If UND I will then choose a liver without hepatitis C so I will not reinfect my new donor liver and be free of hepatitis C after my transplant.
Avatar m tn I take a multi vitamin as well as L-Arginine, Zinc and Saw Palmetto. I was wondering if there was any concrete evidence that the L-Arginine especially has any negative effects on my condition, (causes/exacerbates) breakouts etc as I have heard many different things. All the searches I have done related to this inform me of a diet high in L-Lysine and low in L-Arginine to help treat herpes, which I do not have.
Avatar m tn Watermelon is one of the richest natural sources of L-citrulline, an amino acid that can help make your erection harder. Once it’s in the body, it converts to L-arginine, stimulating the production of nitric oxide, which increases blood flow to the penis, strengthening erections. Ginger can improve your sex life by aiding blood flow and improving artery health.
Avatar m tn The things that seem to be essential for healthy male reproduction include zinc, l-arginine, l-carnitine, co-enzyme Q10, vitamin c. A lot of the multivits will have these incorporated in them. I think as long as you have a relatively healthy diet and do some exercise thats really all you can do. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Is there any correlation between biliary dyskinesia and L-arginine? I heard L-arginine affects the sphincter of the oddi, which is the cause to my biliary dyskinesia if I'm not mistaken. Does the L-arginine help or hurt? Or is it neutral?
Avatar n tn L-Arginine and L-Citrulline are quite effective in restoring sexual ability in a certain universe of patients, specifically those with diabetic neuropathy. You need to take at least 2-3 grams of L-Arginine for an effect. Purchase it in quantitities at health food stores.
Avatar m tn When you stated that it is safest not to use both Viagra and L-Arginine, do you mean that I should not use L-Arginine on the days that I use Viagra or do you mean that I should totally discontinue use of L-Arginine because I occasionally take Viagra - i.e. once a week.
Avatar f tn I think there are some good supplements out there to treat motility issues. There is one called Fertil-Aid for Men. I think the main two ingredients to help are L-Arginine and zinc. Also if motility continues to be an issue, you might want to consider IUI. (intra-uterine insemination) They inject the washed sperm directly into her uterus right when she is ovulating. That might work really well for you guys. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I don't know if I've been tested for Celiac disease. I had a whole battery of tests done to rule out...everything it seems. I do take Calcium as my rheumy prescribed a Calcium/Vit D combo pill. I guess I'll try the other things you have mentioned. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Although some studies suggest that L-arginine may benefit certain health conditions, other research shows that L-arginine may have harmful effects on some individuals. A large body of data suggests that NO actually promotes tumor progression. L Citrulline, like arginine, it can convert into nitric oxide NO. Be careful!!
Avatar n tn Yes. L-Arg\inine is used therapeutically up to 15 grams a day. It is a systemic vasodilator and opens up microcirculation, which increases body capacitance and reduces blood pressure. Excellent for diabetic neuropathy as well. Many people take it four or five times per day in small doses. Purchase the L-Arginine in quantity (at health food stores), rather than in capsules and you will save a lot of money.
